Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards is well aware of the Michael Jordan comparisons, but he’s heard enough.

“I want it to stop,” he told Fox Sports’ Melissa Rohlin. “He’s the greatest of all time. I can’t be compared to him.”

However, the MJ comparisons are coming so thick and fast that it appears Edwards is unlikely to get his wish.

Everyone from Kevin Garnett to Patrick Beverley has spoken about the parallels between Edwards and Jordan.

The similarities are both undeniable and multi-faceted. For starters, there are the facial features, the style of play, the postseason fearlessness, the killer instinct and the penchant for trash talk.

The similarities to Jordan have always been there, but they’re more evident than ever with Edwards making the leap into full-blown superstardom. There’s no telling the heights the young Wolves star could reach.

Edwards scored 43 points in his most recent game, and 40 the game before that. He is averaging 33.4 points across his five playoff games so far, which is an enormous step up from his regular season average of 25.9 points per game.

The 22-year-old is on a steep trajectory, and the better he gets, the more often folks will make the Jordan comparison.
