Former Philadelphia Eagles special teams standout and current broadcaster Ike Reese recently shared insights with Overtime Heroics Senior Editor Reggie Roberts about the retirement decision of Eagles” veteran center Jason Kelce.
In the interview, Reese provided his perspective on the possibility of Kelce reversing his retirement announcement.
He said, “I think Jason Kelce could play at a very high level for another two or three years, but he’s made the decision to retire. I know he has a lot of other things he wants to do off the field. I think that if he hasn’t come back to football by July, he is going to stay retired.”
He concluded by stating, “NFL players have a clock in their heads when they know it’s time to go back to get ready for the season. Jason understands that and if he isn’t back by July, then I think he will stay retired.”
Kelce, a beloved figure in Philadelphia and a key leader on the Eagles” roster announced his retirement earlier in the offseason after a distinguished 11-year career with the team.
Throughout his career, Kelce earned widespread respect for his intelligence, toughness, and dedication to the game. He was a vital part of the Eagles” Super Bowl-winning team in the 2017 season and earned multiple Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors during his tenure with the team.
