After diving into a food pile, Jason Kelce loses the Super Bowl ring he won with the Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles icon Jason Kelce has had a busy couple of weeks after he announced his retirement from the NFL and then made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 40

Jason KelceĀ lost his precious Super Bowl ring in an unusual mishap involving a pool of spaghetti, chili and cheese.

The Philadelphia Eagles hero misplaced the diamond-encrusted token during a bizarre challenge at the University of Cincinnati’s ā€˜Great Lombaby Games’ event, where he and his brotherĀ TravisĀ officiated. As part of the wacky activity, two inflated paddling pools were filled with pasta, dairy and spicy meat sauce containing a pair of socks – one with Jason’s authenticĀ Super BowlĀ ring, the other housing a counterfeit.

ā€œThere was an unfortunate-ness, as you guys know, this game existed because I continuously lose my Super Bowl ring, and I don’t even know if Travis still knows this, but I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event,ā€ Jason said on theĀ New HeightsĀ podcast.

ā€œThey could not find it, we have still yet to find it. All of this stuff has been thrown away so I think we can safely assume my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill someplace in the Cincinnati-tristate area. I didn’t think that would happen.ā€

In reaction to hearing about the unexpected blunder, sibling Travis labelled his older brother a ā€œf***ing imbecileā€, questioning what outcome Jason had expected after plunging his ring into a tub of food. He’d assumed the ring would be retrieved post-event, though speculated on how it could have got lost after discovery.

ā€œThe only thing I can think of is at some point, the sock got kicked out of the three-way and it made its way out of the pool and it was thrown away in some shape or form,ā€ Jason continued.

ā€œBut yes, the Super Bowl ring is officially gone. We already put the insurance claim in, which, I think the insurance company might have some things to say about whether they’re going to cover that.ā€

Jason then revealed his plans to Travis about getting a replacement. ā€œSomebody at some point messed with my Super Bowl ring, which I’m fine with, I mean, it’s just a hunk of metal and I’ll just have another one made, I think? They can do that right?ā€ Jason said.

Travis, unsure, responded, ā€œI don’t know, Jasonā€ – prompting Jason to quip that they were ā€œgoing to find outā€.

Jason retired from theĀ NFLĀ following the 2023 season after a 13-year career with the Eagles. He helped Philadelphia win Super Bowl LII against Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in 2018, ending the city’s 57-year wait for a national championship.
