Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James expressed his thoughts on Tuesday regarding his son Bronny’s future following USC coach Andy Enfield’s move to SMU.

Bronny James, who recently wrapped up his freshman season with the Trojans, is now amidst speculations about his next steps as reports suggest he might enter the transfer portal.

“I don’t know where it came from,” LeBron James stated post Lakers’ victory against the Raptors with a score of 128-111 in Toronto. “But at the end of the day, Bronny is his own man. He has some tough decisions to make. When he’s ready to make those decisions, he’ll let us all know. But as his family, we’re going to support whatever he does.”

Bronny James made appearances in 25 games for the Trojans under Enfield during the 2023-24 season, with an average of 4.8 points and 2.1 assists.

Ranked as the No. 28 overall player in the Class of 2023 by 247Sports, he exhibited promise despite mostly coming off the bench while USC struggled to a 15-18 (8-12 Pac-12) record in Enfield’s 11th season.

Report: Bronny James enters NCAA transfer portal

His collegiate debut faced a setback as it was delayed until Dec. 10 due to a health scare jeopardizing his basketball career. The 6-foot-3 guard collapsed during practice on July 24, leading to a hospital rush and the discovery of a congenital heart defect. Less than two weeks after being fully cleared, he made his debut for USC.
