Following a year since the inception of their initial partnership, Liverpool and LeBron James have reconnected for a second collection of custom athletic and athleisure.

James, who had just surpassed 40,000 career points when the first Liverpool FC x LeBron collection debuted in February 2023, is now the all-time leading points scorer in NBA history. Days after reaching that milestone, he unveiled LBJ x LFC Chapter 2.

Since 2011, when he became a minority shareholder and a devotee of the Premier League club Liverpool, James has become something of a fixture at the club.

In an empathetic message congratulating the Netherlands defender on donning the armband, James stood alongside Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, whom he referred to as “VVD my guy.”

Chapter 2 of the collection integrates the visual elements of basketball and football. It comprises a redesigned rendition of LeBron James’ characteristic Nike LeBron sneakers, a football shirt, and a limited edition hoop jersey, all of which are presented in a colour scheme reminiscent of Liverpool’s iconic teal away strip.

Both jerseys feature the renowned “YNWA” (“You’ll Never Walk Alone”) print motif across the abdomen. Additionally, LeBron’s personal mantra “SFG,” which translates to “Strive For Greatness,” is woven into the fabric of both jerseys.

The football shirt exhibits a tonal checkerboard design comprising squares, stripes, the two mantras mentioned earlier, the Liverpool club insignia, and LeBron James’ “King James” logo. It is black in color and features gold and teal trim.

The basketball iteration features a blue-teal vest adorned with gold and black embellishments, featuring a jumbled arrangement of colors that maintains the identical front pattern, crests, and details.

The technically designated LFC x LeBron Nike NXXT Gen Amplified trainers are exceedingly lightweight and feature a teal outsole. Additionally, the heel and tongue feature the gold Liverpool “Liver bird” club crest, signifying that James will consistently represent the Reds while donning these athletic shoes.

The broader apparel collection, which features Andy Robertson, Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch, Taylor Hinds, and Andy Robertson, as models, also comprises jackets, warm-up tops, and t-shirts.

“It is an honor to have launched this collaboration with LeBron James and Van Dijk,” he said as he led Liverpool to their second Premier League title in five years and as they look to defeat title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City. “Everyone is incredibly curious to see what we’ve accomplished.”

Liverpool vice-captain Hinds, who has scored goals in Women’s Super League matches against Manchester City and Manchester United this season, added, “LBJ and LFC have once again teamed up beautifully, combining the two sports in a way that is truly remarkable.”
