When Bronny James made his basketball debut for USC on Sunday, Hall of Fame Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade had an unforgettable response.
The sports world was captivated by Bronny James’s much awaited USC basketball debut on Sunday. Dwyane Wade, a Miami Heat star and Hall of Famer, immediately weighed in on LeBron James’ son’s decision to play for the Trojans.
Against Long Beach State on Sunday, four-star prospect Bronny James, a true freshman, made his basketball debut for USC.
About halfway through the first half, James checked in to the game. A few plays later, he made his presence felt with a crazy chasedown block. The Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James and his father both became well-known thanks to the same type of play over the years.
USC basketball appears to have been spurred by Bronny James’ presence because they led Long Beach State 45–30 at the half. Early in the second half, James made his first field goal of the game, a pull-up three-pointer from the right wing. The fans of USC basketball erupted in unison.
Unfortunately, the Trojans were unable to maintain their lead in the second half. The late surge by Long Beach State required overtime. They eventually ended a four-game losing streak to their in-state rivals, defeating USC basketball 84-79.
Dwyane Wade is not to blame for the heartfelt Sunday moment. While playing scrimmage basketball for USC basketball this past summer, Bronny James went into cardiac arrest.Thankfully, prompt action made Bronny James’ recovery from his trauma possible. In addition, on Sunday he made his NCAA basketball debut despite overwhelming odds. It ranks right up there with the unlikely return of Damar Hamlin to the Buffalo Bills. There’s no denying that Bronny James’s USC basketball debut was unforgettable.
