Sidney Moncrief, a Milwaukee Bucks legend and a 2x Defensive Player of the Year, faced some of the greatest NBA legends during his career. However, when he went up against rookie Michael Jordan, Moncrief was surprised and shaken by Jordan’s skills on the court. Jordan’s potential was unlike anything Moncrief had seen before. As a rookie, Jordan made an immediate impact, averaging 28.2 points per game and helping the Bulls become playoff contenders. Despite facing each other in 22 regular season games, Jordan had the upper hand with a 15-7 record against Moncrief. Their only post-season encounter resulted in a 3-1 series loss for Jordan’s Bulls.
