After another up-and-down regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers are finally starting to resemble the team that made last year’s Western Conference Finals.
The Lakers have established their defensive identity and their offense has picked up as of late.
Anthony Davis has been leading the charge, dominating both ends of the floor and giving Los Angeles’ fans reason to be optimistic about their outlook post-All-Star break.
Davis is playing the best basketball of his career as he’s controlling the painted area on both ends and even showing a resurgent jumper.
The two-way star is one of the few game-changing big men in the league and would make a valuable addition to the 2024 Men’s Olympic team.
Davis revealed that he would happily accept an invitation to be on the roster if given one via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
“I told the committee if they ask me to go, I’ll go,” Davis said.
Davis already has Olympic experience as he won a gold medal with Team USA back in 2012.
He was the final addition to the 2012 team that won gold in London, but would play a much larger role in 2024 if he does get an invite.
However, it almost feels like a lock that he makes the team given the injury to Joel Embiid who was a shoo-in to make the roster.
With Davis presumably set to make the national team again, filling out the rest of the roster will be interesting to say the least as there are several stars interested in representing the United States in Paris.
