The comparison between Michael Jordan and LeBron James is a familiar topic of debate. However, James often faces higher expectations than Jordan did. Retired NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently argued on the Nightcap podcast that it is unfair to blame James, who is 39 years old, for the Los Angeles Lakers’ poor season.

He used the example of Jordan, who at 39 was not criticized for the Washington Wizards’ record. But Jordan’s former teammate, Brendan Hayward disagreed, stating that Jordan did not have a teammate like Anthony Davis, who is significantly better than anyone Jordan played with. Jordan’s numbers also pale in comparison to James’ at age 39.
