This is a pivotal offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers after they were bounced in the first round by the Denver Nuggets.

This was the second straight year that they were sent home by the Nuggets but this time, they decided to change things around.

It started when they fired Darvin Ham and his entire coaching staff. LeBron James is expected to opt out of his deal and become a free agent this offseason, adding more pressure to hire someone who will please their superstar.

Reportedly, the Lakers’ top candidates are Tyronn Lue, Kenny Atkinson, and J.J. Redick but they continued to add to the list. The latest candidate interviewing for the vacant position will have Laker fans excited.

Lakers News: Los Angeles Plan To Interview Micah Nori

According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Lakers are going to interview the Minnesota Timberwolves lead assistant Micah Nori for the head coaching role.

The 50-year-old has been an assistant in the NBA since 2009, coaching for five different teams. From 2015-2018, he was a member of the Denver Nuggets coaching staff, where he formed a bond with Chris Finch.

When Finch was hired as the head coach of the Timberwolves, he decided to bring Nori along as his lead assistant.

Finch recently suffered a ruptured right patellar tendon after a sideline collision in the first round against the Phoenix Suns.

With him now sidelined, Nori has become the lead man. Since taking over, the Timberwolves have gone 2-1, holding the Nuggets to less than 100 points twice.

Nori is known for his basketball IQ but has the ability to keep players and other coaches loose. The Lakers need a new voice on the sideline and someone who can adapt on the fly. Nori would be a breath of fresh air for Laker fans.
