“If You Got Michael Jordan to Take 11 Shots, You Had Dominated Him”: Celtics Legend Once Revealed What Made Larry Bird and Magic Johnson Different

Michael Jordan stands unrivaled in breaking records, setting new feats, and captivating audiences both within and outside the arena. He is in a league of his own and often compared to legendary figures like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Even Kevin McHale, a Boston Celtics icon, shared his viewpoint in the book “When the Game Was Ours.” McHale observed a fundamental difference between Jordan and the other two icons. While Bird and Johnson could dominate the game with as few as 10 or 11 shots, Jordan did not possess the same impact in the same number of attempts.

McHale believed that limiting Jordan’s shot attempts would give the opposing team an advantage.

Overall, Bird and Johnson were exceptional facilitators who elevated their teammates’ performance, unlike Jordan, who had a select few he trusted.

However, Jordan’s determination and ability to learn from his failures ultimately propelled him to his esteemed status today. Regardless of the number of shots attempted, Jordan always found a way to get the job done.
