After Jayson Tatum, a top player for the Boston Celtics, entered the league, his high school YouTube video teaching people how to tie a tie reappeared. On Friday, Tatum provided fans with another instructional video.
Since its 2013 premiere, his debut YouTube video has received 7.9 million views, the most of which have probably been added in the last few years.
Tatum demonstrated how to tie a shoe for his fans in a funny throwback to his very first YouTube video.
“What’s up guys, JT here again with another tutorial video, 11, 12 some odd years later, and we back,” Tatum stated in the clip. “You guys obviously appreciated the first lesson, which taught you how to tie a tie. Now that the JT 2 Vortexes are here, this is how I tie my shoes for everyone who doesn’t know how to tie them or is searching for a different method.”
Why Tatum chose to create a second YouTube instructional over ten years later is unclear, but it entertained fans and might be a helpful resource for parents trying to teach their young kids how to tie their shoes. Additionally, it promotes Tatum’s signature JT 2 sneakers, which were introduced in March, for free.
Tatum will have to temporarily set aside his popularity on YouTube in order to focus on helping the Celtics win an NBA Finals. After defeating the Miami Heat 3-1 in the series, Boston advanced to the first round and is now preparing to take on the Orlando Magic or Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Celtics may find out as early as Friday night who they will play in the second round. With a 3-2 advantage over the Magic, the Cavs are hoping to win the series. In the event that Orlando prevails, Sunday will be the date of Game 7.
