Eighth NBA All-Star selection for Giannis Antetokounmpo demonstrates his enduring impact in the league. A unique Zoom Freak 5 version has been unveiled by Nike Basketball to honour Giannis and Thanasis’s shared shoe adventure through Greece.

The “All-Star” Freak 5, dressed in Bright Crimson, University Red, and White, highlights the sacrifices and shared journey of the Antetokounmpo brothers. Reminiscent of their shoe-sharing days, a handwritten note from Giannis to Thanasis says, “Thanasis thanks for sharing,” on the collar.
The heel is detailed with Giannis and Thanasis’s numbers, which further accentuates the story of the individual. With a mismatched Red and White rubber outsole and a White and Red midsole that alternates across shoes, the sole unit represents duality and sharing.
On February 16, 2024, a few Nike Basketball locations will offer the Nike Zoom Freak 5 “All-Star” in-store, online, and on Nike.com. At retail, it costs $140 USD and is available in men’s sizes.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s path from sharing sneakers with Thanasis to becoming an NBA star is a testament to tenacity and fraternity. The Zoom Freak 5 “All-Star” version honours their narrative by capturing their relationship and Giannis’s unwavering quest for excellence both on and off the court.
