Arenas explained how offseason training together has eliminated beef between players. He also pointed out the hefty fines for any on-court misconduct as a reason for players to avoid altercations. Sharpe added that today’s players grew up together, making it hard to develop animosity on the court. As a result, the intense rivalries of the early 2000s are unlikely to return in the current NBA.
