Will James’ energetic commercial appearance give him the boost he needs to continue his NBA momentum?

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is coming off an impressive 2023-24 NBA season. James completed his 21st year and put up incredible numbers. He wants to help Los Angeles back to the NBA Finals before he calls his career a wrap. However, James is making noise off the court with his wife Savannah in a Beats by Dre commercial.

The commercial starts with James and Savannah greeting someone at a get-together. Then, James turns his attention to a Beats speaker, which starts playing one of his favorite songs. What he did after was right on brand, as shown by Beats by Dre’s X account:

“We gotta turn this up!” James excitedly said when “A Mili” by Lil Wayne started playing. James’ enthused display was nothing new for fans used to his musical antics. Perhaps James’ appearance next to his wife Savannah will give him an extra boost during his offseason training.

Despite being the longest-tenured active NBA player, LeBron James achieved a never-seen-before feat during the 2023-24 season. Through 71 games, he shot a career-high 41.0 percent on three-pointers. To go along with it, he averaged an earnest 25.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 steals. James wants to continue his momentum to help the Lakers have an improved showing in 2024-25.

Los Angeles is coming off a 47-35 record, which placed them seventh in the Western Conference standings. As a result, the team was forced to make the NBA Playoffs through the Play-In Tournament. They beat the New Orleans Pelicans and earned a first-round playoff matchup against the Denver Nuggets. However, the Nuggets beat LA in five games.

The Lakers have big questions to answer going into the offseason.

How will LeBron James, Lakers handle the 2024 offseason?

One of James’ most important running mates is fellow All-Star forward Anthony Davis. Davis played a career-high 76 games during the 2023-24 season. If LA can continue to tweak the talent around Davis and James, they could have a chance to raise another banner before the legendary forward retires.

In addition to his offseason training, James is preparing to play for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He will join several other greats including Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. Curry gave James high praise and looks forward to playing alongside him for the marquee summer event.

“Everybody just talked about his ability to lift those around him… I heard he’s like a light-hearted type of guy. Always wants to have fun… Maybe we’ll get that, not in the NBA, but maybe on a team USA-type vibe,” Curry said in a June episode of his podcasts, via Heat Check.

It will be interesting to see how LeBron James fares as a pivotal time in the summer approaches.
