UPDATE!! Chiefs Secure Future with Trio of New Player Signings!

Chiefs Sign Three More Players To Futures Deals | Yardbarker

The Kansas City Chiefs have expanded their roster by signing three additional players to futures contracts, as reported by Aaron Wilson. Among the newly signed players are tight end Izaiah Gathings, offensive tackle Chukwuebuka Godric, and quarterback Chris Oladokun.

Futures contracts serve as invitations to training camp, granting players the opportunity to vie for roster spots during offseason workouts and camp sessions.

In addition to Gathings, Godric, and Oladokun, the Chiefs’ futures contracts roster encompasses a diverse set of talents:

Defensive Tackle: Isaiah Buggs
Defensive Back: Trey Dean
Defensive Tackle: Matt Dickerson

Running Back: Keaontay Ingram
Defensive End: Truman Jones
Running Back: Deneric Prince
Defensive Back: Keith Taylor
Wide Receiver: Montrell Washington

Chris Oladokun, aged 26, originally entered the league as a seventh-round pick for the Steelers in 2022. After being waived by Pittsburgh at the end of their training camp that year, he rejoined the team’s practice squad shortly afterward.

In February of 2023, the Chiefs acquired Oladokun from the Steelers’ practice squad. While he was signed to a futures contract with Kansas City last year, he was subsequently released at the end of camp, returning to the practice squad for the entire season.

Though Oladokun was elevated to the active roster for Kansas City’s Week 18 matchup against the Chargers as the emergency quarterback, he has yet to make his NFL debut.
