One of the most disappointing teams in the NFL during the second half of the 2023 campaign and during the first round of the NFL playoffs was, without a doubt, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Even though the Eagles had Super Bowl aspirations all season long after getting beat by the Kansas City Chiefs in the big game last year, Philadelphia fell apart after winning 10 out of their first 11 games and limped to the finish line.

As if the second half of the regular season wasn’t bad enough for Philadelphia, the Eagles didn’t stand a chance against a hungry and determined Tampa Bay Buccaneers team led by Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield and company made easy work of the defending NFC champions and advanced to the second round, while the Eagles went home empty-handed and with many questions heading into the NFL offseason.

One of those questions was whether the team would keep Nick Sirianni as its head coach, especially with all the big-name coaches on the open market.

Philadelphia will seemingly keep Sirianni as the leader on the sideline, but that hasn’t stopped the media from asking awkward questions about his role with the team moving forward.

In a video shared by Dov Kleiman on Twitter, a video shows Nick Sirianni being asked about what his role will be on his own coaching staff.

His response?

“The head coach… of the football team.”

When you’re a winner in Philadelphia, the fans and the media treat coaches and players like gods, with nothing but respect and admiration coming at them on a daily basis.

However, when things start to go sideways in Philadelphia, people like Sirianni can become public enemy No. 1, with everyone looking to take a shot or make the head coach feel uncomfortable.

Until Sirianni can prove he can turn things around for the Eagles, the awkwardness will continue and will likely test his patience time and time again.
