In a candid interview with GQ back in February 2016, Bieber admitted his attempts to alter the tattoo, saying, “This is my ex-girlfriend. So, I tried to cut her face up with some shading, but people still know.” Despite his efforts to modify the tattoo, it seems Bieber hasn’t fully committed to removing it.
