He was the star of Saltburn – last year’s ‘most talked about film’ – and the virality of its final scene which see him dance naked shot him to new levels of fame as an international heartthrob.

But Barry Keoghan’s meteoric rise to fame was dwarfed when he stood next to Taylor Swift in the crowd at the Coachella Festival on Saturday night as fans asked: ‘Is that the dude from Saltburn?’

In a video, fans clamour to get to Taylor, 34, as she entered the pit to watch Ice Spice perform with her American football star boyfriend Travis Kelce, 34, Barry and his girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter – who supported Taylor on the Oz leg of her Eras Tour.

Barry, 31, talked animatedly to the Midnights singer and stood out among the group by wearing a bright blue baseball cap with a Burberry bandana covering his mouth, matching shorts and a white tank top flashing his famous muscular arms.

But the Oscar-nominated actor was completely overlooked as the crowd failed to notice him and just screamed for Taylor and his Espresso singer girlfriend Sabrina – who had performed her set earlier that day.

Eventually, one person shouted: ‘Wait, that’s the dude from Saltburn?’ Another screaming fan can be heard in the background, ‘Let’s look at a picture?’

After a moment both voices, deciding it was Keoghan, started screaming, ‘Barry’.

The video ends with the person filming shouting, ‘Barry, I have you going viral!’

Barry is no stranger to ‘going viral’ after the Irish actor famously ends 2023’s most ‘buzzed-about movie’ Saltburn by dancing around a mansion in Northamptonshire completely naked.

The scene, along with Barry, became a TikTok sensation last summer with users recreating the risqué clip – with their clothes on – to Murder On The Dancefloor.

Saltburn, directed by Emerald Fennell, earned Barry a BAFTA nomination for best actor last year and vaulted him to the top of the IMDB StarMeter where he held the number one spot.

The father-of-one was previously nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar in his role opposite Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in Martin McDonagh’s Banshees of Inisherin.

But his various accolades did not earn him the same star-quality reception as his new girlfriend Ms Swift or her boyfriend Travis Kelce over the weekend at Coachella – a festival held over two weekends in the Californian desert.

Swifties – Taylor Swift fans – are said to consider Sabrina, 24, ‘Taylor’s little sister’ after she supported her during the Australian leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour in February.
