In her iHeartRadio Music Awards 2024 speech, Beyoncé expresses gratitude to her “rock” Jay-Z and their “three beautiful children.”

Beyoncé gave a touching and unique homage to her husband, Jay-Z, and their three children on Monday night at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

“I love you, hubby—my best friend, my rock—and I accept the Innovator Award,” she said. “My three lovely children, who are still my greatest blessing and source of inspiration.”

In 2008, Beyoncé, then 42, wed Jay-Z, then 54. In 2012, their daughter Blue Ivy was welcomed, and in 2017, they had twins Sir and Rumi.

The singer of “Texas Hold ‘Em” also took a moment to thank the trailblazers who helped create the path for her successful career, especially Stevie Wonder, who gave her the trophy.

Wearing a black leather Versace gown with a Western theme, she stated, “Thank you to Rosetta Tharpe, Miss Tracy Chapman, Linda Martell, Prince, Stevie Wonder, André 3000, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, and so many more who defied any label placed upon them.”

During her acceptance speech on Monday, Beyoncé mentioned the criticism she has faced for stepping outside of her genre.

“Innovation begins with a goal, but realizing that dream requires execution, and that path can be quite difficult. Seeing what others think is impossible is what it means to be an inventor. Being an inventor generally entails receiving criticism, which will frequently put your mental toughness to the test. “Being an innovator means putting your faith in God to hold you up and lead you,” the speaker stated.

“Therefore, I hope that all record labels, radio stations, and award shows will be more receptive to the happiness and freedom that arise from appreciating art without any preconceived ideas.”
