Kansas City Chiefs Win-Now Fantasy Draft: Patrick Mahomes Heads Elsewhere, Travis Kelce Stays
It’s that point in between mandatory minicamp and training camp where NFL fans are desperate for any piece of news they can get hands on.
Don’t worry, though. NFL.com came up with an interesting fantasy-like mock draft that you’d only see in the Madden video games to help keep fans’ attention.
As back-to-back champs, the Kansas City Chiefs make some interesting picks that features some familiar faces.

The site created a “win-now” draft for all 32 teams by making every player available for selection.
With the 32nd overall pick in this hypothetical scenario, the Chiefs select … tight end Travis Kelce. No changes there. However, with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes going No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers, the Chiefs add a flurry of young talent on offense in order to keep their chances of a third straight Super Bowl going.
Here’s Kansas City’s picks:
Round 1: Travis Kelce, TE (No. 32 overall)
Round 2: Anthony Richardson, QB (No. 33)
Round 3: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB (No. 96)
Round 4: Charvarius Ward, CB (No. 97)
Round 5: Morgan Moses, OT (No. 160)
Round 6: Malik Nabers, WR (No. 161)
Round 7: George Karlaftis, Edge (No. 224)
In this wild scenario, an offense featuring Kelce, Richardson, Gibbs and Nabers has highlight-worthy potential written all over it. Richardson showed flashes as a rookie QB for the Indianapolis Colts last season before getting injured while Gibbs, who was also a rookie, proved to be a vital piece for a Detroit Lions team that nearly made it to the Super Bowl.
Thankfully for Chiefs fans, reality is much better than fantasy.
