REPORT: LeBron James is seeking a $100 million contract extension with the Lakers
LeBron James is reportedly attempting to cash out one last time before retiring.
Two weeks ago, LeBron was asked about his future plans, and he stated that he wished to stay with the Lakers but was unsure what would happen next.

“I don’t think this is LeBron’s last stand, and I don’t think this is the Lakers’ last stand,” Windhorst said during First Take. “First and foremost, I believe LeBron is looking to sign a multi-year contract with the Lakers this offseason worth nine figures. That will be even bigger than the deal he is currently on. Now, whether he’s able to complete that agreement, if the Lakers want to give him a three-year contract worth $60 million when he’s 42 years old, is a different discussion.”
LeBron presently has a $51.4 million player option for next season, which he may decline in exchange for a new contract with the Lakers and the opportunity to become a free agency.
