NBA players believe LeBron James is closing in on Michael Jordan for the title of the Greatest of All Time.
According to results from an anonymous poll, NBA players voted Michael as the GOAT, but the vote difference is showing a change in trend within these young dudes
A recent anonymous poll among active NBA players reveals that Michael Jordan is still widely considered the greatest player in basketball history. This status is largely attributed to his six championship victories with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, his five MVP awards, and an impressive career scoring average of over 30 points per game.
However, with Jordan’s playing days becoming a distant memory for a new generation of players and fans, a new contender for the “GOAT” title is emerging.
Is Lebron’s Legacy Secured?
In a new feature by The Athletic, 133 NBA players were polled, revealing that 46 percent of respondents view Michael Jordan as the greatest player of all time (GOAT). However, LeBron James is steadily closing in on Jordan. With 42.1 percent of the votes, the margin between the King and His Airness is narrowing, suggesting that LeBron could further bridge the gap the next time players are surveyed about their GOAT preference.
Last season, LeBron James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, becoming the only player to score over 40,000 points in the regular season. As a four-time NBA champion, he continues to excel even at age 39, in his 21st season.
