LeBron James scored 33 points in the Los Angeles Lakers losing with a close score of 118-122 to the Boston Celtics yesterday (December 14). With this achievement, LeBron James officially surpassed the late basketball player Wilt Chamberlain to become second on the list of athletes with the most games scoring 30 points in the NBA .
LeBron James currently has 516 30-point games in 1,386 appearances in his playing career. Meanwhile, Wilt Chamberlain had 515 games scoring at least 30 points in 1,045 games.
LeBron James’ performance is only 46 games less than Michael Jordan , who set a record of 562 games scoring 30 points in 1,072 matches, before officially retiring in 2003.
At the age of 38, LeBron James is still maintaining his high form for the Los Angeles Lakers. After 27 matches played since the beginning of the 2022-2023 season, LeBron James appeared in 20 matches, averaging 26.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.5 assists. However, the Los Angeles Lakers are still struggling, only ranked 12th out of 15 teams in the Western NBA rankings , with 11 wins and 16 losses.
