LeBron James maintains that Bronny will be the one to make final decision on NBA entry

Los Angeles Lakers could draft Bronny James as a way to keep his father with the team in 2024

Bronny James’ inaugural season with USC basketball is drawing to a close, and it’s fair to say it’s been a bit disappointing.

His scoring has been inconsistent, and his overall stats of 5.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game are far from stellar.

It’s hardly the stat line of a player that is ready to take the NBA by storm, yet Bronny is being given a lot of attention due to his surname.

The question now is whether or not he will even declare for the draft. What seemed like a certainty at the beginning of the collegiate season, now looks a little more unclear.

According to his father, LeBron James, the decision rests entirely with Bronny.

“It’s up to him, it’s up to the kid. We’re going to go through the whole process. He’s still in season now. He has the Pac-12 tournament coming up. … We’re going to weigh all options and we’re going to let the kid make the decision,” LeBron declared in an interview at the All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.

Where would Bronny James be selected if he declared for the 2024 NBA Draft?

Given his performance so far, it’s doubtful that Bronny would be drafted any higher than the second round.

While his name carries weight, his freshman year hasn’t shown that he’s ready to excel at the professional level.

This could complicate LeBron’s desire to play alongside Bronny before he retires, especially if Bronny decides to return to USC for another year. However, it seems LeBron isn’t planning to retire anytime soon, as he’s still performing at a high level at 39 years old.
