Lakers News: LeBron James Remains Bronny’s Biggest Fan Despite Recent National Criticism

The Los Angeles Lakers are in the middle of an intense playoff-seeding battle. The Purple and Gold have only 17 games remaining on the docket; each game is close to being a must-win. While it’s do or die for the Lakers, their superstar, LeBron James, has other things on his plate. James is a busy man. Although basketball and the Lakers are his main priorities, he has bigger responsibilities: his children.

James is a father of three, and we’ve seen him support his kids throughout their childhood. Even as they are getting to be young adults, he still finds time to support them. His oldest son, Bronny James, attends USC and is part of the basketball program (I’m not sure if you guys have heard about that yet). The college basketball season is winding down, and the Trojans just played in their last two regular-season home games of the year. James was there for both, which occurred Thursday against Arizona State and Saturday against Arizona. In Thursday’s contest, Bronny played 16 minutes but failed to record a point.

He did, however, have one rebound and two assists on 0-for-2 shooting from the field. Saturday’s contest was a bit better for the 19-year-old freshman. He recorded five points, one assist, and six rebounds in 20 minutes.

In the season, Bronny averages 4.8 points on 37.1% shooting from the field, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. The four-time NBA MVP has been adamant about wanting to play alongside his son in the NBA for years now. That dream could become a reality in a few months as Bronny could opt out of his sophomore year and enter the NBA. It’s uncertain whether he will continue this college career or go pro. Nonetheless, LeBron is a supportive father, even after the backlash he and his son received when Bronny was removed from ESPN’s 2024 NBA mock draft last month.

According to ESPN’s NBA Draft analyst Jonathon Givony, Bronny is now projected to be picked in 2025. Whether he enters the draft this year or not, LeBron will be there for his son no matter what. Hopefully, that remains the case with the Lakers this summer, as he could elect to be a free agent.

LeBron and Bronny will have some tough decisions in a few
