Jayson Tatum celebrates his birthday by weighing in on the Warriors’ lopsided victory
The Boston Celtics have been the NBA’s best club this season. The Celtics’ excellent play reached a new peak on Sunday, when they defeated the Golden State Warriors 140-88. The Celtics led by 44 points at halftime and cruised through the second half. It was an excellent birthday present for Celtics standout Jayson Tatum, who spoke about the big win after the game with Celtics insider Marc D’Amico.
“It is up there.” “It’s a wonderful birthday,” Tatum stated. “I got to do what I love in front of the best fans in the world and get a win, and enjoy the rest of the day with my family.”
Jayson Tatum finished the Celtics’ win over the Warriors with 27 points, three rebounds, five assists, and one steal. He went 9-13 from the field, 4-5 from three, and a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line. Tatum was named to his sixth consecutive All-Star game and has pushed his name into the MVP contention.
Tatum has played 56 games this season, averaging little less than 36 minutes per game. He averages 27.1 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 47.6 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from the three-point line, and 82.6 percent from the free throw line.
The Celtics advanced to 48-12, extending their lead in the Eastern Conference standings. They have won 11 consecutive games and are expected to enjoy home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
