After graduating from high school, Hachimura committed to Gonzaga. Hachimura played three seasons with the Bulldogs. In a Bulldogs uniform, he averaged 12.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.

As the seasons went by Hachimura continued to be a reliable starting forward for the Wizards. However, his NBA career hit a snag after Hachimura missed the team’s training camp and first few games of the 2021-22 season.

Hachimura only played for the Wizards until the 2022-23 season. Midway through, the Wizards traded the former All-Rookie Team player to the Los Angeles Lakers in a deal that also involved Kendrick Nunn.
For the rest of the season, Hachimura put up 9.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game in a Lakers uniform. He was also part of the Lakers squad that went all the way to the Western Conference Finals before the eventual champions, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, swept them.
After a convincing effort by the Japanese star, Hachimura agreed to sign a three-year contract worth $51 million, as per reports. After signing the deal, Hachimura helped the Lakers win the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, which is now known as the NBA Cup.
During the Lakers’ NBA Cup run, Hachimura averaged 9.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. With the Lakers becoming inaugural NBA Cup champions, the entire team, including Hachimura, received an additional $500,000 paycheck, according to reports.
Given Hachimura’s rising popularity in the NBA, it isn’t surprising that the Lakers forward has earned the attention of major brands. In fact, he has signed endorsement deals with major brands such as Casio, SMBC Group, Nissin Food Corp, and Jordan Brand.
