Michael Jordaп’s Retiremeпt Age: How Old Was the Basketball Icoп Wheп He Stepped Away?.

Oпe of the NBA’s all-time greats, Michael Jordaп’s legeпdary career spaппed 15 seasoпs iп the leagυe. Iп perhaps the most icoпic epic of aп oυt-aпd-oυt champioп, MJ woп everythiпg there was with the Chicago Bυlls. Dυriпg his gilded career, Michael Jordaп retired twice – iп 1993 aпd theп iп 1999 – before fiпally haпgiпg υp his boots iп 2003.

Across his fifteeп seasoпs iп the NBA, Jordaп woп six Champioпships with the Chicago Bυlls – all as Fiпals MVPs. To have doпe so iп two icoпic three-peat, from 1991-1993 aпd 1996-1998, is aпother iпcredible feat iп itself.

Michael Jordaп had aп exceptioпally coпsisteпt career, where he missed oпly 7 games except his iпjυry seasoп dυriпg his 12-year stiпt with the Bυlls. So exactly why had Michael Jordaп retired twice before fiпally bowiпg oυt iп 2003, aпd how old was he theп?

How old was Michael Jordaп wheп he retired?
Michael Jordaп took aп abrυpt retiremeпt from basketball iп 1993 wheп he was oпly 30 years old. Jυst prior to his retiremeпt, Jordaп had jυst completed his three-peat of NBA titles with the Chicago Bυlls.

He theп weпt oп to play miпor leagυe baseball for aboυt a year υпtil makiпg his icoпic retυrп for the Bυlls iп 1995. MJ theп weпt oп to wiп aпother legeпdary three-peat of titles with the Bυlls, cemeпtiпg his legacy as argυably the greatest ever.

Jordaп retired from professioпal basketball for the secoпd time iп 1999 at the age of 36. Why did Michael Jordaп retire?
Michael Jordaп’s first retiremeпt came iп 1993 wheп the player said he lacked the motivatioп to coпtiпυe playiпg. His father’s tragic mυrder had also affected MJ deeply.

Haviпg woп a three-peat of NBA titles by that time, Jordaп decided to play miпor leagυe baseball for the Birmiпgham Baroп. He made his retυrп for the Bυlls iп March 1995 aпd weпt oп to write the remaiпiпg epic.

Bυt Jordaп’s love for basketball called him back to the coυrt iп 2001, aпd the NBA legeпd played a short stiпt with the Washiпgtoп Wizards, where he appeared iп all 82 games iп the 2002-2003 seasoп at the late age of 40. Dυriпg his illυstrioυs career with the Chicago Bυlls, Jordaп revolυtioпized the sпeaker iпdυstry with the laυпch of the Air Jordaп liпe iп collaboratioп with Nike. Jason Kelce is a Taylor Swift fan!

On Friday, February 2, the brother of the pop star’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, spoke about all the attention the NFL has put on Taylor since she debuted her relationship with the Chiefs tight end in September 2023.travis kelce

“She’s a world star, she’s the quintessential artist right now in the world, singer-songwriter, immensely talented, an unbelievable role model for young women across the globe,” the Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, told a local Cincinnati news outlet.

Jason added: “I think that the NFL would probably be foolish not to show her and be a role model for all the young girls out there.”taylor travis

The father-of-three pointed out the NFL would not feature her if people didn’t hope for it, noting, “The attention is there because the audience wants to see it. If people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it.”

As OK! previously reported, Taylor has received tons of backlash as of late for supposedly “ruining football,” due to sports organization’s constant coverage when she shows up to Travis’ games.

However, after a fan yelled the rude remark to her at the Sunday January 28 match, the 34-year-old defended herself, saying, “I didn’t do anything.”

Additionally, she explained how she does not have control over how much she is shown on TV during her Time interview.

“I’m just there to support Travis,” she said in December 2023. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

On top of Jason coming to her defense, Charles Barkley had Taylor’s back on the Wednesday, January 31, episode of he and Gayle King’s show, King Charles.taylor swift

“If you’re screaming at T-Swift saying she ruined [football], you’re just a loser. You’re just a loser or a jack—,” the NBA alum, 60, stated. “You can be A or B. One of the two.”

“Look at all the new people she’s brought to the NFL. You see young teen girls who are now watching football for the first time,” King, 69, said in agreement.jason kelce

The pair’s guest sports commentator Bob Costas noted how Taylor’s possible presence at the 2024 Super Bowl could dramatically boost the game’s ratings.

“The NFL reigns supreme — not only over sports — but over all of American entertainment. … It’s the only thing that consistently aggregates huge audiences,” the 71-year-old began.Never miss a story — sign up for the OK! newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what OK! has to offer. Jason Kelce insists Eagles star is ‘going to be a problem’ for NFL rivals after weight gain

Jason Kelce has made comments on former teammate DeVonta Smith’s impressive physical development in the off-season.

It was revealed by former NFL champion Chad Ochocinco that slight-framed Smith has increased his weight to 190 pounds following training sessions this offseason. Smith plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce’s former team.

Kelce, making note of Smith’s increased mass coinciding with his entry into fatherhood, joked on X: “That dad strength is starting to kick in. Kyse (Smith’s daughter) got him working even on the off days! Gonna be problems for defences.”

Having played alongside each other from 2021 until this previous season, when Kelce announced his retirement aged 36, the pair built a strong partnership. The period saw the Eagles’ reach their fourth-ever Super Bowl in 2022, as Kelce produced three out of his six All-Pro seasons and Smith achieved over 1,000 yards in both 2022 and 2023.

Smith, who became the first wide receiver to clinch the Heisman Trophy in 2020 for 29 years, has made a remarkable leap to the NFL despite his slight frame. The former Alabama standout tipped the scales at a mere 170 pounds when he joined the league, earning the affectionate moniker “Slim Reaper” during his college days in Tuscaloosa.

However, fatherhood appears to have ushered in a more robust version of Smith for the 2024 season.

“I guarantee you when you see him this year, you gonna be like ‘God Damn boy, you been working,’” Ochocinco said. “He’s about 190 [pounds], I kid you not.”

The day before his team’s opening game last season against the New England Patriots, Smith’s partner gave birth, with the player marking the event with a touchdown and a “Rock the Baby” gesture as his team secured a 25-20 win.

Kelce has often sung the praises of being a dad. “I think one of the best things a person can be in this world is a father,” Kelce said as part of his retirement speech last month. “A father who is present, loving, devoted just might be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society, and I am a damn good one.”

Despite Smith’s initially lean frame and speed score at the NFL Combine, which placed him in the lower 11th percentile, the Eagles showed an unwavering confidence in the six-foot tall receiver due to his impressive college performance. They chose Smith as the 10th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, promptly making him a part of their starting lineup.

Travis and Jason Kelce analyse Lionel Messi’s MLS impact

The Kansas City Chiefs player heaped praise on MLS star Lionel Messi as part of a live broadcast with his brother Jason as part of the New Heights podcast

Lionel Messi’s arrival in the United States continues to generate talking points with the Argentine also making waves in other sports. This time around it was the turn for two NFL start to discuss the veteran striker’s impact since his move to Inter Miami last summer as brothers Travis and Jason Kelce discussed the world champion’s performances with the MLS club in a live broadcast.

In the New Heights podcast, Chiefs’ star Travis Kelce disagreed with the comments that his brother, Jason made, claiming that after watching the Argentine against Sporting Kansas City last weekend and seeing him play in MLS is not the same as in the top football in Europe, specifically with FC Barcelona.

“MLS is not like international soccer. Watching him play in Miami is not the same as in Barcelona or when he won the World Cup. Seeing Michael Jordan on a golf course is not as amazing as seeing him in a Chicago Bulls uniform,” Jason Kelce explained.

Travis objected and maintained that Messi won the World Cup over a year and a half ago and that the comparison he made with Jordan related to two different sports and not an accurate comparison.

Travis expresses his admiration for Messi

The Kansas City Chiefs player assured that despite his 36 years of age and the multiple comparisons that have been made with Messi’s career, the Argentine continues to delight and surprise football fans.

“He’s great, he’s electric. He was responsible for making MLS fun last year”, Travis Kelce added.

Jason endeavoured to assure listeners, that his point was not to say that Messi was not positive for the MLS, as he tried to explain that he didn’t feel the same emotion was transmitted as when Messi played for Barcelona or when he is with Argentina.

I’m not saying it’s not good for the league, but it’s not the same as when he scores for Argentina and ignites a nation “The whole thing erupts with joy and emotion,” added Jason Kelce.

Jason and Kylie have given several sweet glimpses of their family on social media over the years, including photos of them wearing matching outfits for Halloween and attending football games together.

“Before I had children, I told myself if I ever have a daughter, I’m just going to treat them exactly the same as a son,” he said. “I don’t think that you should treat kids necessarily different.”

The former NFL star continued, “And then when I had a daughter, I was like, ‘I’m not going to spoil her, I’m going to raise her tough. She’s going to be hard.’ And the moment she came out, I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s not going to work.’ “

Now that Jason has retired, Kylie shared what she hopes their daughters will take away from their dad’s time playing in the NFL.

“I hope that ultimately they end up understanding that their dad had an impact on Philadelphia in a way that was wholesome and that he understood the city, enough that he wanted to stay there and raise a family there,” she told Today in March 2024. “He gave his blood, sweat and tears to the city and it was out of sheer love and commitment. And I hope that my girls see that.”

Jason and Kylie’s first daughter, Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce, was born on Oct. 2, 2019.

That December, the couple brought Wyatt to her first Eagles game. “Wyatt got to experience her first Dallas sucks chant yesterday… it was a proud mom moment. 🦅,” Kylie captioned a family photo that featured Jason holding Wyatt.

In February 2020, Wyatt showed her support for her uncle Travis as the Kansas City Chiefs played in the Super Bowl. “Feeling so grateful that we got to watch the insanely talented and hardworking @killatrav and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl this past weekend! Wyatt is so proud of her World Champion Uncle!” Kylie captioned a photo of Wyatt wearing Travis’ jersey.

Later that year, Jason and Kylie announced that Wyatt was going to be a big sister. “Another apple joining the Kelce family tree,” Kylie captioned a photo of Wyatt wearing a shirt that read: “Best sister ever.”

Wyatt seems to be a big Eagles fan. Following the team’s win against the New York Giants in January 2023, the NFL star shared an adorable video of his daughter cheering for the team upon waking up.

“Apparently Wyatt is pretty pumped about the Eagles win last night too,” he captioned the funny clip on Instagram. “Woke up to her singing the entire fight song this morning in her crib.”

In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Kelce, it was revealed that Jason and Kylie paid nearly $4,000 each for Wyatt and Elliotte to attend the big game.

“When people say that she looks like me, I’m going to show them this photo…” the mom of three captioned the picture.

Like her sister, Elliotte was also present to watch her dad play in Super Bowl 2023.

During a February 2024 episode of the brothers’ New Heights podcast, Jason said that of all his children, Elliotte is the one who reminds him the most of Travis, even though she was brave enough to go on rides at Disney World that her uncle likely would have sat out at her age.

“I’ve always thought that Ellie matched your intensity and kind of looks like you if we’re being honest. She loves rides. She is not afraid of rides at all,” Jason said.

Kylie and Jason welcomed their third daughter, Bennett Llewellyn Kelce, on Feb. 23, 2023.

“Yesterday little lady #3 joined us,” the couple captioned a joint Instagram post that featured a sweet image of the newborn.

In September 2022, Kylie shared that she and Jason were expecting a third child by posting a photo of her daughters wearing matching “Big sister” shirts.

“Another Kelce lady? Don’t mind if we do. Coming February 2023,” she wrote, revealing they were expecting another girl.

Kylie was 38 weeks pregnant at Super Bowl LVII, where she watched Jason face off against his brother, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Fully prepared to go into labor during the big game, she traveled with two OBs and had an emergency delivery plan.

Just days before the game in Arizona, Kylie told PEOPLE that they were considering a baby name that would pay tribute to the Super Bowl if she happened to give birth that Sunday.

“We don’t have a name, but my husband keeps making the joke that if she does come while we’re out there that we’ll name her Super, which is one of the most absurd things I’ve ever heard of in life,” she said. “We have talked about if she does come out there that we might consider making her initials S.B., or something related to the Super Bowl, just as sort of a tribute.”

Ultimately, the couple decided to honor Jason’s grandmother through Bennett’s middle name, Llewellyn.

“It’s Grandma Mary’s maiden name,” the football star shared on his podcast. “I wanted to honor Grandma Mary, who is now resting in peace. She had a good run.”

In August 2023, Bennett, alongside her sisters, made an appearance at the Philadelphia Eagles training camp. Kylie later shared a sweet photo of the family of five on Instagram.

Taylor Swift’s power was once again on display this weekend.

On April 13, the singer, 34, and her boyfriend Travis Kelce sent the internet abuzz as they attended Coachella together, with one accessory Swift donned particularly catching her fans’ attention — and Kelce’s.

Both she and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, looked stylish in the desert, with Swift in a chic all-black look complete with a mini skirt and an oversized leather bomber jacket, while Kelce wore striped pants with a plaid button-down shirt over a white t-shirt.

However, the most notable piece of Swift’s outfit was her hat. She wore a dark green New Heights cap, a shout-out to her boyfriend and his brother’s podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. During their April 17 podcast episode, the brothers discussed the singer’s look.

“She was supporting the New Heights,” Travis said of Swift’s outfit.

“Big New Heights supporter,” Jason Kelce agreed, before revealing they also saw massive support from Swift’s fans as a result of the superstar’s outfit choice. He noted that the podcast’s merchandise shop “Sold out of the green hat real quick.”

Travis said of the hat, “It’s a good color green.”

During the couple’s day at the desert festival, they were spotted watching Swift’s friend Ice Spice’s performance — and seen dancing to “Karma” in the crowd.

The couple also attended Dom Dolla’s set and Bleachers’ performance, which comes as no surprise seeing as Swift’s friend and longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff was on stage. She and Travis were spotted kissing and dancing together backstage while they watched the band’s set.

On New Heights, Travis said of Antonoff’s performance, “The Bleachers, Jack Antonoff absolutely ripped it. I had so much fun seeing him go nuts with the guitar. He had two sax players, two drummers, two guitars… and it was so much fun! That was fun as hell to watch.”

The couple also spent time with Sabrina Carpenter and her beau, Barry Keoghan, during Ice Spice’s set, as fans captured footage of the group and shared it on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Travis appeared to have enjoyed the event, as he raved on the podcast, “I just like to experience that type of s—, like I love experiencing new cultures. That’s the one thing that I really enjoy about Coachella is that it’s not just one genre of music. It’s everything.”

“I always appreciated it, and it was fun. It was fun seeing a few new bands that I really wasn’t that familiar with, and just became an absolute lover of their music because of how they performed, and how they captivated the crowd. It got everybody into it,” he noted.

Following a fun weekend at Coachella, a source told PEOPLE that Swift and Travis are “very happy” spending time together as they take in the brief break the singer has before her Eras Tour picks back up in May.

They “were both excited to attend Coachella together,” as “they’re all about quality time together before Taylor resumes her tour,” the source explained, adding, “They are very supportive of each other.”

Even Donna Kelce was impressed by Taylor Swift’s new album. The mother of Travis and Jason Kelce has gotten to know Swift well this past year after he relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end went public.

So of course she was going to listen to the singer’s highly anticipated new album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’

Donna spoke with PEOPLE exclusively and admitted that she knew exactly what she would be doing on April 19.

“I listened to the whole album, and I listened to it all morning long when it was released,” Donna told PEOPLE. “I was just very impressed. She is a very talented woman, and I think it is probably her best work.”

Considering all Swift has done in her career and all the music she has released, saying that this is her best work is certainly one of the highest compliments she could have gotten.

And it’s also nice of Donna to say this considering the numerous Travis Kelce references Swift made in a few songs.

In the first set of songs Swift released, she had a song titled, “The Alchemy,” which had a lot to do with Travis.

“So when I touch down all that matters/Call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team/Ditch the clowns, get the crown/Baby I’m the one to beat/’Cause the sign on your heart said it’s still reserved for me.”

And she also appears to mention Super Bowl LVIII where Swift was in attendance and got to celebrate the big win with Kelce and the Chiefs.

“Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me,” she sings.

At 2 a.m., Swift released an additional 15 songs and another one had to do with the Chiefs tight end: “So High School.”

The song starts with a simple line: “I feel so high school every time I look at you.” And it shows how much she truly loves Travis Kelce.

Taylor Swift appears to share a secret with Travis Kelce's mom

“I’m watching American Pie with you on a Saturday night / Your friends are around so be quiet / I’m trying to stifle my sighs,” she sings. ‘Cause I feel so high school every time I look at you / But look at you.”

And probably the best part is when she goes on to mention an old video of Kelce from 2016 when he played “Kiss, Marry, Kill” and the choices were between her, Ariana Grand

Jason Kelce’s daughter goes viral for acting just like her dad

The Philadelphia Eagles could have their replacement center lined up if Jason Kelce decides to retire.

Kelce’s four-year-old daughter, Wyatt, is going viral on Twitter/X for not only being insanely adorable, but also for her football training skills.

With the 2024 NFL Combine going on this week, Wyatt practiced her own “ready” stance and “40-yard” dash.

Her hand placement and everything were perfect.

She looked just like her dad while repping an Eagles t-shirt with his No. 62 on the back.

Kelce recently shared a wishy-washy update on his retirement plans during an appearance on the Superfly podcast.

“I don’t know. I’m trying to figure it out right now,” Kelce said. “Right now, exploring different opportunities if I end up retiring. Still working out and staying in shape if I end up playing again.”

If he does decide to throw in the towel after 13 incredible seasons, it would suck, but at least Wyatt would make a much cuter center for the Eagles than her father.

The Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, and wife Kylie Kelce brought their three daughters — Bennett, 11 months, Elliotte, 2, and Wyatt, 4 — down to the field while attending the Pro Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Sunday.

In a sweet TikTok video, Jason could be seen carrying his oldest daughter around on his hip, walking back and forth across the field while Wyatt wore bright yellow headphones. Wyatt had one hand gripping her dad’s jersey and gave a special handshake to another player as she spent some time with her football star dad.

The Eagles player could later be seen tickling his daughter and making her laugh as they continued to walk along the turf field.

“I don’t think people realize the beating you’re taking then impacts the way you interact with your family,” she said in a confessional.

The couple celebrated daughter Wyatt’s 4th birthday in October, taking a minute to spend time with their family amidst Jason’s busy football schedule.

Kylie reshared a photo of her daughter on her Instagram Story as she played in a giant bubble house, surrounded by multicolored balloons.

“Wouldn’t be a proper mermaid party without a BUBBLE!” read the text on the photo, as Kylie added, “Peep Wyatt 👀 She was in love.”

Jason was also seen at Wyatt’s party, smiling in a family photo with his three daughters and wife. The Eagles center held daughter Bennett and stood next to Kylie, who held Wyatt and daughter Elliotte.

The football player was later seen adorably playing with daughter Wyatt in a giant balloon house, flipping her around and playing with floating balloons as she tugged at his beard.
