Jason Kelce is officially retired from the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles center — who was drafted by the team in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft — announced his retirement during an emotional press conference on March 4.

“So this all brings us here to today, where I announce that I am retiring,” Kelce said through tears nearly 40 minutes into his speech. “Where I announce I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and today, I must admit, I am officially overrated, vastly overrated.”

Kelce is widely considered to be among the greatest centers in NFL history. He was selected to seven Pro Bowls, was named first-team All-Pro six times and clinched one Super Bowl title throughout his accomplished 13-season football career.

In the last five of those seasons, Kelce has doubled as a dad. The athlete is the father of three daughters — Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 23 months, and Bennett, 12 months — with whom he shares with his wife, Kylie.

“She has also given me three beautiful girls and a life that increasingly brings me more fulfillment off the field than it does on,” Kelce said of his wife during the press conference. “I think one of the best things a person can be in this world is a father.”

Now that Kelce is officially retired from the NFL, fans have started to speculate about what the future might look like for the athlete. While Kelce didn’t specifically address his plans during the press conference, he has previously opened up about a few possibilities.

Here’s everything we know about Kelce’s future following retirement.

Will Jason Kelce still be involved with the Philadelphia Eagles after retiring from the NFL?

Although Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s stepping away from the Philadelphia Eagles for good! The retired center previously spoke about the potential to stay involved with the organization despite not physically playing for the team.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen for me, but I do know I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it, regardless of what the decision is,” Kelce told The Philadelphia Inquirer in January.

“Because I don’t want to ever feel like I’m on the outside looking in on these achievements and these accolades and these opportunities that largely represent entire cities and fan bases and organizations,” he continued. “It’s too good a feeling to pass up.”

Will Jason Kelce coach after retiring from the NFL?

In February 2024, Kelce opened up on The Big Podcast with Shaq about the possibility of coaching football after he retires from the NFL. While he considered it, he was specific about the level at which he’d pursue the career.

“If it was the number one school in Philadelphia, I might take it,” Kelce said on the podcast. “My in-laws help out, I’m Philly right now… we’d be lost without their help with our girls and everything,” he explained in reference to his three daughters.

“Cleveland Heights would be something though. NFL, that’s a big time commitment,” Kelce continued. “College, no. Not interested. It’s too much, you gotta recruit, you gotta coach, you’ll never be with your family.”

Kelce said the “the best two levels” of coaching football are high school and the NFL — with high school, he said, “you get to develop kids and really form them and help them grow into men and really offer that guidance.”

As for the NFL, Kelce said ,”you get to compete at the highest level.” While it’s “still a time commitment,” he said “financially it kinda makes sense.”

Kelce balanced life as a professional athlete and being dad of three for the last five seasons of his career. “I am a product of my upbringing,” the NFL star said during his retirement press conference.

“I think one of the best things a person can be in this world is a father,” he continued. “A father who is present, loving, and devoted just might be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society.”

Following his retirement, he won’t have a busy NFL schedule. Plus, his energy can now be put towards playing with his kids.

Kelce’s wife, Kylie, previously told PEOPLE: “I always tell people that no matter what happens with football, how it ends, I would like him to retire when he’s still able to get down on the floor and play with our kids comfortably.”

In a scene from Kelce — the feature-length Prime Video documentary that follows Jason through the 2022-2023 season — Kylie showed that the injuries the NFL star sustains on the field impact his life at home as well.

“I don’t think people realize the beating you’re taking then impacts the way you interact with your family,” she said in a confessional. “He’s been telling me for years that he was going to retire and now we are expecting our third daughter,” she added.

Donna, the mother of Jason and Travis Kelce, previously spoke with PEOPLE about what life could look like for her football playing sons in retirement. She said she “can’t believe that [Jason and Travis] wouldn’t be in the future involved with football in some capacity because they love it so much.”

Donna pointed out their respective personalities. “I know them,” the proud mom explained of her “very determined” and “very focused” sons.

“Anything they want to do, I truly believe they could do. I’ve seen it over and over again,” Donna continued. “They are just very tenacious, very much, ‘I’m going to see this through.’ They just never give up. They just keep moving on.”

And though Donna said she has “a feeling sports is going to be in there somewhere if they could,” she pointed out that it’s “fun to see” Jason be a parent, too! “It’s just so heartening to see how he is as a father and a husband,” she said of her son.

It’s “so heartening — unless he’s going to do an antic,” she joked, referencing Jason’s celebratory shirtless moment that went viral when he stripped during the Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 21. “But it’s funny,” she added. “He’s a crazy good guy” and an “absolutely” fun dad!

Ed and Donna Kelce are the proud parents of not one, but two NFL stars.

After a combined 22 years of playing in the NFL, brothers Jason and Travis Kelce reached a football milestone no other brotherly duo has been able to accomplish: they were the first brothers to ever square off at the Super Bowl — meaning their parents, Ed and Donna, not only attended the big game, but they were also rooting for both teams.

Super Bowl LVII saw the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, football fans followed Ed and Donna’s leadup to the 2023 Super Bowl with a diligent eye. Donna, for her part, made sure to show her sons equal support when dressing for the big game. For her “#gamedayfit,” the proud mom wore a shirt that split into Eagles and Chiefs colors on each side.

Ultimately, the Chiefs ended up defeating the Eagles 38-35, making Travis the victorious brother of the aptly nicknamed “Kelce Bowl.” While Travis celebrated on the winner’s platform alongside Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, Jason was seen getting emotional after reuniting with his mom on the field after the loss.

The Kelce family’s wild ride didn’t stop after the Super Bowl, however. The rest of the year saw Jason and Travis skyrocket to new levels of fame — especially after Travis started dating Taylor Swift in September. Months later, after much speculation, Jason announced his retirement from the NFL in March 2024. Through it all, Donna and Ed were right by their sons’ sides.

“It’s been really surreal and it’s been a fun ride to be on,” Donna told PEOPLE in January 2024. “Being able to be with the kids more than I have in any other year previously.”

Everything to Know About the 2024 Super Bowl

Just one year after the Kelce Bowl, Travis returned to the Super Bowl to face off against the San Francisco 49ers. Donna and Ed were in attendance to cheer on the tight end alongside Swift, and celebrated with him on the field after the Chiefs ultimately defeated the 49ers in overtime.

Ahead of the big game, Donna told PEOPLE she was looking forward to a more relaxing experience in 2024 after watching her sons compete against each other the year prior.

“This year I’m going to take a step back to enjoy it,” she said. “I get to enjoy it this time.”

From their rom-com-worthy meet-cute to navigating life with two sons in the NFL, here’s everything to know about Ed and Donna Kelce.

Donna grew up outside of Cleveland

Donna was born and raised in Cleveland. Her mother died when she was just 12 years old, shortly after the family — including her father and younger brother Don — had just moved out of Cleveland and to the suburbs. After her mother died, her father married a woman named Mary, whom Donna described as a “wonderful human being.” Looking back on her childhood, Donna credits her stepmother — also known as Grandma Murr by the Kelce brothers — for getting her and Don back on track.

“By the grace of God, if we didn’t have [Mary] I don’t think we would have made it,” she said during an appearance on her sons’ joint podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

While Donna’s father was against women playing sports, her stepmother was all in. During her high school years, Donna secretly — but with her stepmother’s support and guidance – competed at the Junior Olympics in track and field and won.

“She’s just a lovely lady,” Donna told her sons of Grandma Murr, who died in 2023. “I feel so fortunate that I was raised by her.”

With her stepmother’s continued support, Donna became the first in her family to graduate college. After earning her degree from Ohio University, she pursued a 30-year career in banking. She worked for Mastercard before settling down with a local bank in Cleveland, where she specialized in commercial real estate finances.

Ed’s family has a big military background

Travis Kelce and his dad Ed

Ed also grew up in Cleveland and, like his sons, was immediately attracted to the sport of football in high school. He gave college a try; however, coming from a family with a large military presence, Ed felt called to serve his country. “Everybody in my family prior to me was in the service,” Ed told his sons on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. “We’re also talking about family [that] lived through World War II, so that’s what everybody did because that was the background.”

Unfortunately, the Army rejected his application due to a pre-existing knee injury. Ed did, however, go on to enlist for the Coast Guard. Albeit, his dreams were cut short during boot camp when he learned he had Crohn’s disease. Ed pivoted and went on to have a very successful career in the steel industry, occasionally bringing his sons to work with them so they could get an understanding of what work in a mill was like.

“I’d take them there — hard hat, safety glasses, boots, the whole nine yards,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “I’d tell them, ‘You can have a job like your mother’s, or you can have a job like mine.’ “

Donna first met Ed while on her way to another date

For Donna and Ed, it was love at first sight. While sharing their love story on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, it was revealed that the couple met right before Donna was meant to go on another date. On her way to the date, Donna stopped by a bar named Fagan’s in Old Cleveland Flats, where Ed also happened to swing by for an after-work drink. The two got to talking and Donna never went to meet the other guy.

“I was supposed to go out with a guy that night. We were supposed to go to a play, and I never made it. Your dad and I talked forever,” Donna told her sons, adding jokingly, “It was a good play, too! I really wanted to see it.”

For his part, Ed is still shocked he won over Donna as he was covered in dirt from head to toe after working at the steel lab all day. “I’m in coveralls that are covered in cement,” Ed continued the story. “We started talking and she gave me a ride home. She came in and I told her ‘hold on, let me change.’ “

Not wanting the night to end, Ed recalled taking a quick shower and taking Donna to another nearby bar. “It was meant to be. It’s just the way it was,” Donna quipped.

They were married for nearly 25 years

Donna and Ed tied the knot in the late ’70s, about five years before welcoming their older son Jason. Less than two years later, they became a family of four with the addition of Travis. Together, they raised their family in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and sent their sons to the University of Cincinnati, where they both played college football.

After roughly 25 years of marriage, the pair went their separate ways following both their sons’ college graduations. While the divorce presented a hardship for the Kelce family, Donna looks back on her marriage to Ed fondly. On New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Donna assured both Jason and Travis that she has no ill will toward their father and considers him a very important person in her life.

“I don’t hate him. We’re friends to this day. We get along great,” Donna said on the podcast. “We were like a tag team with you two. We got to do all sorts of fun things. When one of you had to go out of town, the other person would help with the other child. It was perfect.”

However, as Donna explained, “sometimes people move apart.” When asked by her sons if she regrets marrying Ed, Donna responded, “No, never, because I got you two.”

In the 2023 documentary, Kelce, Donna and Ed talked about choosing to stay together for as long as they did for the benefit of their boys.

“If we had split as we probably both would have preferred, that would have been a nightmare with the logistics, getting kids where they had to be and providing all the support,” Ed explains in the film.

“Just trying to keep it all together when you’re being a parent,” Donna adds. “It’s tough.”

They’re proud parents of two NFL stars

    Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce

Donna and Ed welcomed their football superstars exactly 23 months apart: Jason arrived on Nov. 5, 1987, while his younger brother was born on Oct. 5, 1989. While some fans argue Jason is his dad’s mini-me, Ed doesn’t find that to be the case.

“There are mannerisms, tones, speech things, the way we address people that are very similar between me and Jason,” Ed explained on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. “But, as far as, do I see more of myself in Jason than [Travis]? No, in some ways it might be the other way.”

To say there was never a dull moment in the Kelce household would be an understatement, Donna joked on the Today show. Chatting with anchors Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, the mom of two recalled breaking up “a lot of fights” when her boys were younger.

“Everything was a competition. It was a competition to see who could get to the table first, who could get to the front seat of the car — this is just typical sibling rivalry. They egged each other on,” she explained.

Jason and Travis Kelce as kids

This wasn’t the first time Donna spoke publicly about her sons’ fierce sibling rivalry. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, she noted it wasn’t unusual for the brothers to throw punches as well. “There were a lot of fights,” she told the magazine. “There were a lot of punches thrown. It all just stemmed from somebody being better than the other one, and the other one not being able to deal with it.”

Donna told PEOPLE in 2024 that her kids’ success is even better because of their previous rivalry. “Being able to be with my kids — the experiences, the places, enjoying people I’ve never met before. And I’m very happy they get to enjoy the fruits of their labor, because it’s [been] a tough ride to get where they are now,” she said.

Ed lives a mile away from Jason and his wife

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ed relocated from Cleveland to Philadelphia to be closer to Jason, his wife, Kylie, and their three kids. He currently lives a mile away from the nine-acre farm where Jason and Kylie are raising their family, though he regularly visits to help with growing produce in their garden, as he explained to the Los Angeles Times.

And though the family grows everything from tomatoes to squash now, Jason and Travis say their father wasn’t always as focused on healthy eating growing up.

“We never got vegetables growing up,” Travis teased during their father’s podcast appearance after Ed mentioned the importance of nutritious meal. “I never ate a single vegetable growing up.”

Ed argued that both boys ate “green beans and corn” as kids, but Jason agreed with Travis, who replied: “We ate Giorgio’s Oven Fresh Pizza every single night.”

Donna isn’t joking when she says she doesn’t root for one son more than the other. During the NFL Wild Card games in 2022, in which both Jason and Travis were playing in and on nearly opposite coasts, Donna traveled 1,300 miles to see both her sons compete in their respective playoff games on the same day.

The NFL’s official Twitter account documented Donna’s journey, which began in San Francisco, where Jason and the Eagles were facing off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. From there, she took a flight to Kansas City and arrived just in time to surprise Travis at the Chiefs’ post-game press conference.

Travis was clearly surprised when the first question came from his mom, who wanted to know how it felt to finally get a touchdown in a playoff game.

“To finally throw a touchdown like I used to tell my mom when I was like five years old that I was going to eventually throw a touchdown in the National Football League, I finally got it done,” he answered with a smile. “It only took me nine years. That’s a good question though, Mom.”

Jason and Travis reminisced on the 2023 Super Bowl during an episode of their New Heights podcast. They agreed the night was made even more special thanks to Donna.

“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional because man, it was so awesome,” Jason said. “It was awesome that she was on top of the world for a week.”

“She was the heavyweight champ, man,” Travis added. “She was on top of it, and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you killed it. Dad, you’ve been killing it.”

Ed braced himself for one of his sons’ Super Bowl heartbreak

Ahead of Super Bowl 2023, Ed was already preparing to comfort one of his sons after the other was declared a victor.

“We’ll try to enjoy it,” he told the Los Angeles Times before the game. “But by 10 o’clock Sunday night, somebody’s brokenhearted and somebody’s celebrating. We’ll deal with that the best we can when it happens.”

During his appearance on his sons’ podcast, Travis asked Ed which of them he will speak to first after the game concludes.

“Probably the loser,” he said, explaining, “Somebody’s gonna feel pretty crummy and I wanna be with him — initially.”

Fans aren’t the only ones dying to know who Donna’s favorite son is — her kids want to know, too! “You’ve said in the past to both of us that you root for me because I’ve given you grandkids. I’ve always known that you root for Travis. So, who do you actually root for?,” Jason, who has three daughters, asked his mom on New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

“In this one, you have the luxury of rooting for offenses,” Jason said about the 2023 Super Bowl, “but if in a battle to the death, me versus Travis, who are you rooting for?”

Dodging the question, Donna asked the same of her and Ed, to which her sons responded in laughs. Admitting defeat, Travis teased, “I gotta start breeding, I gotta start breeding.” Though Donna is keen on having more grandchildren, she advised Travis to “wait until you find the right person.”

“I’m gonna find a breeder, and I’m gonna get kids so that mom can love me again,” Travis jokingly ended the segment.

Donna and Ed are fans of Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, who is dating Travis, attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023. The pop star sat next to Donna in Travis’ suite and was seen cheering loudly for the tight end. A week later, Swift and Donna were spotted hugging at the Chiefs vs. New York Jets game in New York City.

“Donna likes Taylor and thinks she’s very sweet and down to earth,” a source told PEOPLE.

However, Donna wouldn’t consider herself a “Swiftie.” She told PEOPLE, “My era was Earth, Wind and Fire [and] Chaka Khan. That’s more my music. But obviously, talent is talent.” Donna did catch a screening of Swift’s Eras Tour concert film — and expressed interest in seeing the “Lover” singer live.

“I did like it. It was awesome,” she told PEOPLE. “I was just totally enthralled.”

At the Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos game in October 2023, Swift met Ed for the first time. Travis and Jason discussed the interaction, which was heavily photographed, on their podcast, New Heights.

“He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift. If you see Dad talking to anybody and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation’s going,” Jason joked. Travis added: “This is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible for Taylor for being in this. You can see in this picture all he’s doing is just absolutely pumping her up.”

Ed later told PEOPLE that Swift showed no signs of being a “diva” or a “spoiled musician.”

“I’ll tell you something very special that I noticed about Taylor the first time I met her. She gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. And that really, to me, said a whole lot,” he shared.

Donna and Ed were there every step of the way during their sons’ 2023 season. Though Jason’s playoff run ended with an Eagles loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Jan. 15, sparking retirement rumors for the 13-year vet, he joined his parents in cheering on Travis at the AFC championship game, where the Chiefs ultimately beat the Baltimore Ravens and advanced to the Super Bowl.

Following the victory, Ed and Donna made their way to the field to celebrate with Travis and Swift.

“It’s so difficult to get there and to be able to get there two times in a row, this was very special,” Donna told PEOPLE of Travis’ accomplishment.

Plus, she added, it was also special “to be able to be with my other son [Jason, of the Philadelphia Eagles] to watch the game.”

While Donna told PEOPLE she couldn’t be prouder of both of her sons, she’s also ready for some much-deserved family time during the off-season.

“I’m looking forward to spending time with them in the off-season, but they’re also very busy,” she said ahead of the big game. “They need to get away themselves just to relax.”

Early Monday morning, the football star posted on X that an announcement would be imminent, hinting that he would address rumors about whether his time in the league was over. Speculation arose around Jason’s retirement after he was visibly emotional following a Wild Card round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January that ended the Eagles’ season.

JASON: Thanks for coming guys. See how long this lasts. [Pauses to keep from crying] Not a good start. Here we go. This is gonna be long.

There I lay, face up in the cool morning’s dew-covered grass. Waiting for a whistle I knew would come at any second. Knowing full well Anthony Harrell was a couple yards away on the ground waiting for the same. The foreign objects that rest upon my shoulders and head weighed me down and unbalanced my weighty body. As the whistle blew, I arose, turned all in one motion and ran at my teammate. It isn’t even the collision I remember most, but the feeling before, of what in the f— is about to happen? How was it going to feel when I win? Whenever I smell the clippings of a freshly mowed grass, I am brought back to this day. Twelve years old, Roxboro Middle School, first day in pads. I’ve been asked many times why I chose football, why I chose the game and I never have an answer that gets it right. The best way I can explain it is what draws you to your favorite song, your favorite book. It’s what it makes you feel. The seriousness of it, the intensity of it. Stepping on the field was the most alive and free I had ever felt. It was a visceral feeling with football unlike any other sport. The hairs on my arms would stand up. I could hit somebody, run around like a crazed lunatic and then get told good job.

I love football. Whether it was in the backyard with my brother, in the playground with my friends or suiting up Friday nights at Cleveland Heights High School. I loved everything about it. Although I hadn’t met him yet, Jeff Stoutland often shares a quote his father would tell him: “More often than not, the easy way is the wrong way.” Football was hard. Much harder than any sport I had ever played, physically and mentally. In most other sports I was bigger, faster, stronger than anyone else. On the football field these traits were matched. On the lacrosse field I felt like LeBron James. On the football field I was Billy Hoyle. I loved the challenge that football was. The joy of winning, the agony of defeat, the anxiety of the unknown and the camaraderie of my teammates. I’d like to thank my high school football coaches, Mike Jones, Damion Creel, Kahari Hicks and Gary Robowski — Coach Robo, you know who you are. My hockey coaches Kurt Gunther, Steve Bogas and Eddie Babcox and my lacrosse coaches Felipe Quintana and Ben Beckman. I’d also like to thank my band teacher Brett Baker. All of you taught me countless lessons and put up with a very young, rambunctious kid that was full of immaturity, stupidity and cockiness. I would without question not be where I am today without your efforts with me and the countless other children you served in my brother and I’s hometown Cleveland Heights.

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce: Everything to Know About the NFL Brothers

From Cleveland Heights I entered the University of Cincinnati as a walk-on. As a linebacker, I had no idea what to expect, but scenes from Rudy would often race in my mind. It became apparent immediately that walk-ons would have to fight harder for their opportunities than the rest of the team. I had no stars, no investment from the team or the coaches. I had to earn everything, and that’s good, because I had no clue what hard work was yet. Knowing that I had to earn my respect everyday made me committed like never before. In my first college weightlifting session, graduate assistant Jordan Roth put me through the hardest weightlifting session I had ever been through. At the end of it, he said if I could walk around the perimeter of the weight room holding my hands above my head, I could leave. And if I couldn’t hold my hands above my head, I’d have to stay and clean the whole weight room. That entire year, I found out later that cleaning the weight room was something I would get used to. That entire year I consider a blessing. Dantonio ran a tough program, the weight room was even tougher and I redefined in my mind what working hard actually was. It pushed me into areas of fatigue I didn’t know I had, and for that experience, I am forever grateful to all of them.

After redshirting my first year, Mark Dantonio left Cincinnati for Michigan State, and we hired up and coming head coach from Central Michigan Brian Kelly. This turned out to be the biggest turning point in my career — not because of Brian, he was great and we enjoyed tremendous success together, but because he brought along with him strength coach Paul Longo. Two weeks into winter workouts, Paul whispered to me in the middle of warm-ups, “You’d make a great center.” I shrugged it off, never in a million years did I think I’d play that position. Paul was different. Opposed to working guys into the ground, his motto was work smarter, not harder. His main goal was to improve us as athletes and make us stronger, faster, more explosive. He didn’t care about anything else. Once during a conditioning drill, I saw a teammate struggling to keep up during a run, so I slowed down to encourage him. And he yelled at me, saying, “You run this exercise the best you can, lead from the front. It’s my job to take care of the back.” Paul moved me to offensive line that spring, and it ended up being the single greatest move that ever happened to me as a football player. There are too many people to thank from my times at Cincinnati, so I’d like to limit it to coaches Paul Longo, Jeff Quinn, Brian Kelly, Mark Antonio, strength coaches Tim Swanger, Dave Andrews, coach Carrie Combs, Dave Andrews. Coach Kerry Coombs, coach Butch Jones, as well as athletic trainer Bob Mangine and orthopedic doctor Angelo Colosimo.

Of course, all of my teammates and friends, all of my support staff, all of you made my time there something I wouldn’t trade for the world. Some of the most enjoyable years of my life. After my senior year ended, it became apparent the NFL would be an opportunity, although few teams had an interest in linemen that weighed 288 pounds. Lucky for me, the Eagles had just hired Howard Mudd, a legendary coach who valued offensive linesmen for their athleticism more than their size. Having watched and emulated Jeff Saturday in my own game, it all felt too perfect when the Eagles selected me in the sixth round. Immediately after being drafted, my agent Jason Bernstein said, “You have no idea how perfect this is. You are going to fit in great. You’re going to fit in great in Philadelphia, this is your kind of town.” Thirteen seasons in Philadelphia, and I look back on a career filled with ups and downs. I’d like to thank the four head coaches I played for, Andy Reid, Chip Kelly, Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni. I consider myself lucky to have played for each of you. I’d like to thank Jeffrey Lurie for his dedication to building an organization that values its employees as people and gives them the resources necessary to thrive. I’ve only had one boss, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but Jeffrey always made it a point to show his appreciation and love for his players on and more importantly off the field. I’d like to thank Howie Roseman for drafting me and for always working hard to improve our team, even from the other side of the building that one year. Whether it be coaches, players, salary cap or the numerous other things you control, you work tirelessly and calculatedly to improve this organization. I’d like to thank Big Dom DiSandro, truly the life-force of this organization. No one gives more time and energy to this team. At the drop of the hat, Dom is by your side. My family and I give our sincerest thank yous for always treating us with dignity and assistance. There are so many teammates, coaches, support staff, trainers, equipment, cafeteria workers, you guys have no idea how the amount of people in this building it takes to assist our players and me. I’d like to thank you all by name, but we’d be here far too long for anyone to continue listening. So instead I will share memories, if that’s alright with you all. When I look back down the road, I’m sure there are things I will forget. But these are the things I’m sure I won’t.

I won’t forget the call I got from Andy Reid on draft day, and my father rushed into the room with tears streaming down his face as his son’s dreams had just been realized. It had just been announced on TV I had been drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. And I won’t forget two years later, that same man, that my brother received a call, and him being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. This time the tears streaming down both my father and I’s face, as my brother had just realized his own. I won’t forget the first time I saw Jason Peters do a one-on-one pass set with Trent Cole and being amazed at the speed, balance and power I just witnessed. It reminded me or looked like a grizzly bear wrestling a panther. It was so impressive it made me question whether I was good enough to play in this league. I watched the next couple guys go and thought, “Okay, I can do this.” I won’t forget Thirsty Thursdays at 879, a bar owned by Brent Celek and Todd Herremans that stayed open a whole six months because nobody paid for a drink. Poor business practices indeed, that bar may have closed quickly but the friendships it forged remain open to this day.

Jason Kelce Says the Idea of Retiring Is ‘Exciting’ and ‘Daunting,’ but He Still Needs ‘to Decide’

I won’t forget my second training camp, walking downstairs in my Lehigh dorm to paramedics rushing in, and Coach Dave Culley’s look on his face and made the expression like he had seen a ghost a whole lot clearer. I asked if I could help, and he said no, just go to practice. We would find out later at practice that Garrett Reid has passed away. Only a few hours after that, Andy addressed the team. It was the most intense moment I had ever shared with a group of men, and the outpouring of support and love for my friend and the Reid family at the funeral soon after was truly remarkable. I won’t forget Chip Kelly’s first game as Eagles head coach against the Washington Redskins. We ran close to 50 plays in the first half. We were so tired but it didn’t matter, because they couldn’t stop us. The NFL had never seen something like this before, and I remember all of us thinking after that game that this is gonna change the NFL.

I won’t forget walking out onto a snowless field before warmups against the Detroit Lions and then walking out of the tunnel to a blizzard. The Lions and white jerseys blended into the snow so well I could not see the secondary or the defense, and the second half was all LeSean McCoy. He somehow figured out a way to cut on a dime that day and man it was incredible to watch. It was probably the most fun game of football I’ve ever been in. It felt like we were all kids again that day, just playing in the backyard.

I won’t forget finding out in the 2017 Rams game that Carson Wentz had tore his ACL. The whole team had an uneasy feeling in the locker room, all of us questioning what this would mean until Malcolm Jenkins addressed the team. He gave a typical Malcolm speech invoking confidence in who we were and breaking it down with his patented “We all we got, and we all we need.” I won’t forget Nick Foles having the game of his life on the biggest stage possible. And the biggest d— on the team going up to Doug Pederson and asking for the Philly special. And Doug Pederson having the biggest balls in the stadium to say “Yeah, let’s do it.”

And Brandon Graham finding a way to stop Tom Brady once — literally once, and the way the ball hung in the air on that last Hail Mary and how it felt like an eternity. Just looking, no sound registering, completely engulfed in the moment. And when it finally landed, running onto the field, looking for a flag, anything that would mean it was over. We had done it.

I won’t forget the parade and what it meant to the city of Philadelphia, the joy it brought our community and the closure it gave to so many. The stories from fans that had been waiting generations for that moment fulfilled that triumph to another level. On the route I remember meeting a woman with ashes of a dead relative whom she promised wouldn’t miss the parade if the Eagles had ever won it. A speech that had written itself and one that symbolized what we had all lived as players, as a team and as a city. It wasn’t my speech, it was Philadelphia. I won’t forget my mother becoming Mom of the NFL, a representative for all moms out there who have sacrificed so much for their children.

I won’t forget Nick Sirianni sending kegs of beer to convince me to keep playing these last few years. He knows the key to my heart. I won’t forget making the playoffs in this first season, the Super Bowl in the next and the immense heartbreak at the collapse of this last season. And although last season truly sucked, I wouldn’t trade any of my time with you or those teams for the world. Everything happens for a reason, and I have truly enjoyed my time with you, Coach. Sometimes the flowers get knocked back a bit, but the roots remain. And I can’t wait to watch it reblossom in the next season.

I won’t forget falling short to the Chiefs. [pauses to cry] This is where it’s gonna go off the rails. I won’t forget falling short to the Chiefs and the conflicted feeling of the immense heartbreak I had selfishly for myself and for my teammates. And at the same time the amount of pride I had that my brother climbed the mountaintop once again. We have a small family, no cousins, one aunt, one uncle. It was really my brother and I our whole lives. We did almost everything together, competing, fought, laughed, cried and learned from each other. We invented games, imagined ourselves as star players of that time. We’d envisioned making the winning plays day after day on Coleridge Road. We won countless Super Bowls in our mind before ever leaving the house. And when we weren’t playing, we were at the other one’s games, butt seated in a lawn chair or a bench. A Capri-Sun in our hand that Mom had packed, cheering during the game and waiting outside afterward to celebrate a victory together. Or offer encouragement after a defeat. There is no chance I’d be here without the bond Travis and I share. It made me stronger, tougher, smarter and taught me the values of cooperation, loyalty, patience and understanding.

Travis Kelce Wipes Away Tears as His Brother Jason Announces Retirement from NFL

It’s only too poetic I found my career being fulfilled in the City of Brotherly Love. I knew that relationship all too well. Some people struggle to play in this city. They can’t handle the booze, the media or our fans. Consider it a great blessing to play in the most passionate sports town in America. The sense of urgency in this city to win has pushed our organization, has fueled it to take chances, fix problems and work tirelessly in an effort to win. At times, you hate it as an athlete, especially those new to our city, but when you’ve been through it enough, you learn to appreciate it. No one celebrates their own like the city of Philadelphia. Athletes become demigods in this city, even ones whose deeds span decades before. With that amount of attention, you better be ready to overcome the lows that will happen and be ready to persevere in the face of the criticism. Yes, they will let you know when you are not performing well. Every time. But they will also love you if you show effort, aggression, desire, the will to fight.

October 16, 2022, Philadelphia, PA, USA: October 16, 2022: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (6) is congratulated by center Jason Kelce (62) after a touchdown reception during the NFL football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

They will love you in this city if you love it the way you love your brother. You will be loved by going above and beyond to show that you care, because they care. They’ve been caring for generations in this town, about this team, and they aren’t about to accept a bunch of excuses and soft-ass nonsense representing the name of the front of the jersey, something they’ve invested their entire life in. If you don’t like what the fans of media are saying as a player, it’s very easy. Love them, treat them like your brothers and go out and play your balls off. Wear your heart on your sleeve and I guarantee you change those narratives. I remember seeing Zach Ertz shy away from a block one day, one game against Vontaze Burfict of the Cincinnati Bengals. Rightfully so, the fans ripped him apart, crushing him for doing it. The next week, the first catch I saw Zach Ertz snag, he ran after the catch like I had never seen. It took three guys to bring him down and I heard the Linc erupt with cheers for his effort. Today, you won’t find a single Philadelphian with a bad word to say about Zach Ertz and the legacy he left behind.

As players, you write the narratives. The fans and media for the most part, occasionally anyway, only write what you give them. You go above and beyond in this city, you will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams. I saw firsthand the wrath of the Eagles fans in the 2016 Eagles season. And rightfully so, I had an awful start to that season where I was often overpowered, had many holding penalties that cost our team and looked like one of the worst centers in the league. I was wanted out of town by nearly everyone, and it wasn’t just the fans that wanted me cut, it was nearly everyone in this organization. That off-season I heard trade rumors galore and speculation I’d be cut. I imagine if the Eagles had received a trade offer for a brand new set of washing machines, they may have pulled the trigger. Now, if I was in charge, I would’ve pulled the trigger. There’s only one person in this building who still wanted me and it’s he who I have to thank most for the career I’ve had. That’s Jeff Stoutland. No one has been most influential — no one has been more influential or meaningful to my success on the field or my career than Stoutland. I think one of the greatest things a human being can give another is belief. This world, life, it can be hard. It can challenge yourself to points of self-doubt, and that is a dangerous place to be. But I’m lucky. My whole life I have been surrounded by people that have believed in me, my father, my mother, my brother, Paul Longo, Howard Mudd, and in my darkest hour in Philadelphia, Stout was the one who believed in me. He was adamant my problems could be fixed with proper technique, fundamentals, and work. And work we did. That off-season and training camp, I focused on using my hands better, playing with leverage, proper footwork and prepared with an edge to prove to myself that I was good enough. The following season in 2017, I enjoyed the finest season of my 13-year career, not only as a player but as a team, and it meant more because of the struggles and work we had been through. Without him, I doubt any of this would’ve been possible or that I’d still be here. Since that off-season, I have amassed six All-Pros, five Pro Bowls, and I’m recognized by some as one of the best centers to ever play the game. I’m very proud knowing where I once was and the legacy I have left behind, and the man we can all thank is Jeff Stoutland.

Second Stout quote of the evening, “No man is an island. We must draw our strengths from others.” I’d like to thank my teammates, my other brothers. Oh, how I’ve drawn my strengths from you all. I was fortunate to play with great players, some of the best in this league has to offer, but it was really off the field just sitting in the cafeteria with my teammates breaking bread and talking about life that were some of the most meaningful times I spent in my career. The NFL is truly like no other place and at the same time represents America as a whole like no other. Fat offensive linemen from Cleveland play on the same field as skinny wide receivers from Louisiana and kickers from Chicago. Tight ends from Stanford play next to tackles from Kilgore Community College. Defensive ends from inner city Detroit play next to defensive tackles from Yazoo City, Mississippi. Six-foot-nine Jordan Mailata plays the same sport as four-foot-eight Darren Sproles. The melting pot of geographic location, economic background, race, body type personality and athletic traits of an NFL locker room is truly remarkable, and we all rely on each other and respect one another and each of our differences because we know we’re stronger together. I will always cherish this brotherhood, the relationships it fostered and how unique an experience it has been to enjoy the field with you all.

Kylie Kelce Says She Wants Husband Jason Kelce to Retire While He Can Still ‘Play with Our Kids’

I won’t forget the Eagles Christmas party in 2014 and heading out afterwards with a bunch of my teammates to Buffalo Billiards, where my life would change forever. That night, I’d meet my future wife. I still remember the moment she walked through the door. The first instance is burned in my retina. It was like she glided through the opening an aura around her. Then she started talking, and I thought, man, is this what love feels like? She was beautiful. Smart, serious, yet playful. I knew it right away. I think it’s no coincidence I have enjoyed my best years of my career with Kylie by my side. Every accolade I have ever received has come with her in my life. She has brought the best out of me through love, devotion, support, honesty, intelligence, and of course, the swift kick in the ass from time to time. She has also given me three beautiful girls and a life that increasingly brings me more fulfillment off the field than it does on. We’ve had a great run, Ky.

I think one of the best things a person can be in this world as a father, a father who is present, loving, devoted, just be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society. And I have a damn good one. My father believed in me more than anyone. He believed in me and my brother, and whenever my own insecurities would arise or self doubt would come in, he would stifle them with the warm embrace of belief, unwavering love and belief. My father worked in the steel industry in Cleveland for the majority of his life. I remember him taking me into a plant one time and standing in awe of the molten steel and watching a giant ladle containing a bunch of it hover over our heads just feet away. The heat radiated when the molten steel was in sight. And I remember thinking how utterly amazing my father’s work was. He was the man and continues to be the man and father I strive to be. My mother was a part of a generation of females that was largely the first of their families to go to college. When deciding to go to college, her own father said he disagreed with the idea. Instead, she should become a secretary or be a wife. In fact, the only thing that convinced him into letting her go to college was my grandmother’s insistence that my mother would find an educated man to settle down with and that would mean more money for the family. Mom took the opportunity to go to college and graduated from the Ohio University, worked in banking for over 40 years, climbing the corporate ladder from teller to a VP and was largely the breadwinner for our family. I like to think I got my toughness, aggression and lunch-pail mentality from my father. From my mother, I learned the all-too-important lesson of never letting anyone tell you what you can’t do.

So this all brings us here to today where I announce that I’m retiring. Where I announce that I’m retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Today, I must admit, I am officially overrated. Vastly overrated, but f—. It took a lot of hard work and determination getting here. I have been the underdog my entire career, and I mean this when I say it, I wish I still was. Few things gave me more joy than proving someone wrong. My mother used to tell people when still says to this day, if you want Jason to do something, all you have to do is tell him you can’t. And that was true in more ways than I care to admit. I relish doubters. They fueled a fire within. I suspect that comes from an upbringing where my parents would tell me, Jason, you can do, you can be anything in this world you want to as long as you put your mind to it and work hard to achieve it. So whenever I was faced with doubt in my career, be it from fans, from coaches, even from my own teammates, the American Dream would burn from deep inside my bones. Which leads to my last Jeff Stoutland quote, “Hungry dogs run fast.” Thank you, Philadelphia. Thank you, Philadelphia. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me represent this city and allowing me into your homes every Sunday. Growing up, it has truly been a privilege. You have all been so good to me and my family. Growing up in Cleveland, I watched all of my favorite athletes leave the city. Hell, my whole team left the city. It has always been a goal of mine to play my whole career in one city, and I couldn’t have dreamt a better one and a better fit if I try. I don’t know what’s next, but I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that await, and I know that I carry with me the lessons from my time here. And that forever we shall all share the bond of being Philadelphians. That’s all I got.

Brothers Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce are on their way to becoming NFL legends: Travis is a record-breaking tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and Jason was the fan-favorite center of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The brothers faced off in the Super Bowl for the first time when the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs played each other on Feb. 12, 2023. Travis and the Chiefs ultimately defeated Jason and the Eagles 38-35 in the historic match-up. As soon as the game ended, Jason gave his little brother a hug and the two seemingly shared a few encouraging words.

Later, Travis got emotional when speaking to the press about his brother following the win. “There’s nothing you can really say to a loved one in a situation like that,” he said while fighting back tears. “You joke around all the time and say you want to beat your brother on the biggest stage, but it’s a weird feeling.” He added, “There’s nothing I can say to him other than I love him and he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season.”

In November 2023, Travis and Jason’s teams faced off again during regular season play. The Eagles beat the Chiefs 21-17 — a feat they haven’t achieved since 2009. Though Jason’s team was ultimately knocked out of the playoffs, Travis’ Chiefs once again secured a spot in the Super Bowl after defeating the Baltimore Ravens during the AFC Championship — and Jason was right there cheering him on.

Everything to Know About the 2024 Super Bowl

The Chiefs ultimately defeated the San Francisco 49ers during Super Bowl 2024, and Jason was once again on hand to support his younger brother, which meant the world to Travis, as he told reporters ahead of the big game.

“Just having his support is all I need. Seeing him at the game, seeing him get excited, that’s everything,” he shared. However, the tight end wasn’t quite sure if this year’s event could live up to the Kelce Bowl.

“I don’t know any moment will ever compare to being on top of the world, going against my brother like that,” he added.

In March 2024, Jason announced that he was retiring from football after 13 seasons in the NFL following weeks of speculation that he was ready to walk away from the game.

From their childhood in Ohio to their decade in the NFL together, here’s everything to know about Jason and Travis Kelce.

Jason and Travis are nearly two years apart

    Travis and Jason Kelce

There are exactly 23 months between Jason and Travis Kelce: Jason was born on Nov. 5, 1987, and Travis arrived on Oct. 5, 1989. The two grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where their father Ed worked in steel and their mother Donna worked in banking, according to Sports Illustrated. Raising two boys so close in age wasn’t always easy, Donna revealed in an interview with FOX 4 Kansas City.

“It’s a lot of broken windows, a lot of, you know, crashes, a lot of fighting … and Travis was always the one that was the instigator because he wanted his brother’s attention,” she shared.

Jason echoed similar sentiments about what it was like growing up with his younger brother Travis. “Two-year age difference, so growing up, in typical younger brother fashion, Travis found all the other ways to get the upper hand — and that was the most annoying thing ever,” Jason said in an interview with NFL Films in 2018.

Besides annoying each other, their close age gap also led to a natural competition developing between the two. “They were very, very competitive from a very early age,” Donna told FOX 4 Kansas City.

But the competitiveness between the brothers wasn’t all bad, according to Travis. “I think the competitiveness that we had growing up is very big on why we’re even in the NFL in the first place,” he told NFL Films.

Their competitiveness carried over into adulthood, Donna told PEOPLE in January, but it’s all in good fun.

“They’re just as competitive as adults today, always jabbing at each other [about] who’s the best,” she said. “It doesn’t stop. They’re each other’s biggest fan.”

Jason explained that he was involved in an incident while “playing at a cafeteria table” with another student. “For some reason, we were stabbing each other with sporks and I hit him hard enough right in the forehead,” he recalled. “I just remember the next day his dad had him under his arm and he had four little spork dots.”

Meanwhile, Travis said he was asked not to return to preschool after refusing to share a checkers set.

“I kept winning and the teacher told me, you know Travis, you have to share and I was like, that’s not how it rolls,” Travis said, adding that he then “threw the chair I was sitting in at her.”

They played football together at the University of Cincinnati

The Kelce brothers played multiple sports in high school: They both played football and baseball, and Jason played hockey in the winters while Travis played basketball. But when it came to college, Jason attended the University of Cincinnati and walked on to their football team as a linebacker before becoming an offensive lineman, Sports Illustrated reported.

Two years later, despite having multiple scholarship offers for football, Travis decided to follow his brother and play at Cincinnati. “Being two years behind him, I’ve naturally always kind of followed his footsteps,” he said in an interview with NFL Films. “Being on his team, knowing that he’s already going through this system — it just made the most sense.”

But Travis’ college football career was almost cut short when, after his freshman year in 2009, he failed a drug test. It resulted in him having his scholarship revoked and being kicked off the football team — until Jason stepped in. Jason had Travis move in with him and some other teammates — “So I could keep an eye on him,” Jason told the Philadelphia Inquirer — and also spoke to the head coach about letting Travis back on the team. His big-brother efforts worked.

“I’ve never really asked how he got me back on the team,” Travis said to Sports Illustrated. “That was my brother just being a big brother, looking out for me every step of the way and fighting for the success story.”

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati, Jason was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. As an offensive lineman, he was described as an “undersized, late-round draft pick,” according to Philadelphia Eagles writer Dave Spadaro, who had, “statistically, about a 6 percent chance of lasting two seasons in the NFL.” When he retired, Jason had been the starting center for the Philadelphia Eagles for 13 seasons.

During his career with the Eagles, Jason had no shortage of success. The center made it to the Pro Bowl seven times, has been named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press six times and won a Super Bowl in 2018. Following Philadelphia’s Super Bowl win (the first in team history), Jason delivered a passionate speech during the team’s victory parade that ultimately went viral.

“Bottom line is, we wanted it more. All the players. All the coaches. The front office. Jeffrey Lurie. Everybody wanted it more. And that’s why we’re up here today. And that’s why we’re the first team in Eagles history to hold that freaking trophy,” he said to the Philly fans.

In March 2022, he signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Eagles — making him the highest-paid center in the NFL at the time, according to ESPN. “The bottom line is that to be in one place for the entirety of my career truly has been a blessing,” Jason told Spadaro about his time with the Eagles.

Similar to his big brother, Travis has spent his entire NFL career with the same team: The tight end was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The coach who drafted him to the Chiefs, Andy Reid, was his brother Jason’s former coach at the Philadelphia Eagles.

Travis has since made a name for himself in the NFL for both his performance and his personality. In his 11 seasons with the Chiefs, he’s been invited to the Pro Bowl nine times and is currently preparing for his fourth trip to the Super Bowl (he’s won twice). Beyond his football talents, he’s also well known for his celebratory — and meme-worthy — dances in the end zone.

Many sports analysts consider Travis to be one of the top tight ends to ever play the game, thanks to his ongoing Hall-of-Fame-worthy NFL career. Sports Illustrated ranked him in the top 10 NFL players of 2022, ESPN has called him “one of the best NFL players ever” and Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes considers him “the greatest tight end of all time.” Travis also considers himself one of the best.

“I’m not going to lie to myself. I’m going to look at the film. I’m going to look at the stats. I’m going to look at where my team is compared to everyone else, and I’m going to say, am I the best?” he told GQ in 2017. “I think I’m the best tight end in the game.

Travis has worn number 87 for the entirety of his career with the Chiefs — and that number pays special tribute to his big brother Jason. The tight end revealed in a post-game exchange with Jason that he had selected the number in honor of Jason’s birth year, 1987.

“You’re the only reason why I wear 87 anyways,” Travis said to Jason on the sidelines. “I never told you that, man. You started the legacy.”

Travis elaborated on his decision to wear number 87 in an interview with NFL Films. “If there is a Kelce legacy, two brothers making it to the NFL, it all started in 1987 because this big guy was born in 1987,” Travis said while sitting beside Jason.

The Kelce brothers debuted their joint podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, in September 2022. Despite their demanding football schedules, the duo record weekly episodes — between 60 and 90 minutes — discussing their games, trending NFL news and sports headlines.

“It’s been good to just have that set amount of time to be able to just sit down and chat,” Travis told Forbes about their podcast. “It’s like we’re just kicking it at dinner back when we were in high school and college together.”

The brothers have had some of football’s biggest names join them on their podcast, including former New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“I’m having a blast,” Travis told Forbes. “It’s fun to just do something with my brother weekly.”

Since their wedding, Kylie and Jason have welcomed three daughters: Wyatt Elizabeth in 2019, Elliotte Ray in 2021 and Bennet Llwellyn in 2023.

     All About Jason Kelce’s Kids

While Travis isn’t a father yet, Kylie called her brother-in-law the “absolute best uncle you can imagine” while speaking with PEOPLE in February 2023.

“It’s very funny, Jason said in an interview that he thinks [the girls] might like him more than they like Jason,” she added.

In 2016, Travis attempted to find love on reality television with his own show on E! called Catching Kelce. On the elimination-style show, Travis met one woman from each of the 50 states and went on a series of dates during the series to find his perfect match. However, Travis later revealed in 2023 that the decision to do the show was more financially motivated rather than romantically.

“I heard about this situation where I could make six figures in two weeks and I was like, ah, and 50 ladies, I’m like, ‘This is actually starting to sound a little better,’ ” Travis told The Pivot Podcast in January 2023. “It was definitely a learning experience.”

Though Travis didn’t find a lifelong partner on Catching Kelce, he was in an on-again, off-again relationship with model and influencer Kayla Nicole for five years. They began dating in 2017, split in August 2020 and reconciled in December of that year before splitting for good in 2022.

“I’m in the free market right now. I’m out there just enjoying life, focused on my profession,” he said about his relationship status on The Pivot Podcast in January 2023.

    Travis is dating Taylor Swift

Travis’ single stage didn’t last long. During the summer of 2023, the tight end revealed he had attempted to give Taylor Swift a friendship bracelet (with his phone number on it) at one of her Eras Tour concerts.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he during an episode of New Heights. “She doesn’t meet anybody or she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”

However, his attempt turned out to be successful in the long run — Travis and Swift eventually connected and started quietly dating, making their public debut when Swift attended a Chiefs game in September. Since then, Swift has become a regular attendee at Chiefs games, often inviting her friends to join her.

“I love it when Taylor comes and supports me and enjoys the game with the fam and friends,” Travis said while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show. “It’s been nothing but a wonderful year, man.”

The NFL player even returned the favor by flying to Argentina to take in another one of Swift’s concerts.

After Travis and the Chiefs clinched their AFC championship victory in January, Swift joined the tight end and his parents on the field to celebrate. The pair were seen kissing and embracing after the victory, with Travis even telling the superstar, “I love you.”

The brothers each have their own foundations to help give back

Both Jason and Travis recognize the importance of doing good both on and off the field. Each brother has set up their own foundation to help give back to the communities that have supported them as professional athletes.

Travis set up Eighty-Seven & Running in 2015 as a way to help underserved youth develop critical life skills, through projects like converting an abandoned Kansas City muffler shop into an educational STEM lab for teens.

“It’s what it’s all about, in my mind,” he told PEOPLE about his philanthropy. “Over the course of my career, do I care about football? A whole lot. I care about my career and the legacy that I leave, but I do know that I have the opportunity to relate to a lot of people in this community. And with that, I think it’s a bit of a responsibility to do the right things.”

Jason established his own foundation, (Be)Philly, in October 2022. The non-profit is dedicated to improving the lives of Philadelphia’s youth.

“Whether my family, my friends, or my fellow Philadelphians, I have always felt an overwhelming love and support that has helped reach my dreams and potential on and off the field. Now it’s my turn,” Jason wrote on the nonprofit’s website.

He continued, “Philadelphia is an incredible city, but we know it can be even better. We owe it to ourselves to give the next generation the resources and opportunities they deserve.”

The Kelce brothers made history on Feb. 12, 2023, when they became the first brothers to ever play each other in the Super Bowl.

The brothers have always wanted to face off on the Super Bowl field, Travis said on their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

“It’s wild and kind of surreal,” he shared. “I feel like I’ve been getting asked this question for my entire career. ‘What would you feel if you played your brother in the Super Bowl?’ The entire time I’ve been like, ‘That’s been the goal.’ Now that it’s actually happening, it’s kind of sick. Now someone’s gotta send their brother home.”

Though Travis and the Chiefs ultimately won the Super Bowl, the two brothers shared an embrace both before and after the game.

Though both are busy with their own teams, they still enjoy coming out in support of each other. After the Eagles were eliminated following the playoffs in January 2024, Jason said he would try to come out to the Chiefs next game to see his little brother play.

“I don’t know, that’s one of the beautiful things about the off-season, it’s unscheduled,” Jason said after the Eagles loss. “So, you know, obviously my brother’s still in the playoffs. I don’t get to watch him play very often, maybe I’ll get an opportunity to go watch one of those games this week.”

Travis and the Chiefs faced off against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb 11., where they ultimately were crowned champions after an overtime win. Jason, along with his wife Kylie, their parents Donna and Ed, and Travis’ girlfriend Swift cheered the tight end on from a suite at Allegiant Stadium.

Speaking to reporters before the Super Bowl, Travis shared how special it was to have his brother rooting for him during the big game.

“At the end of the day were both our biggest fans and it’s been that way since we were kids,” he said.

On a Feb. 15, 2023, episode of their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Jason admitted he wasn’t sure if he’d play another season.

“Man, I can’t answer that right now. No chance,” he said when discussing retirement. “We’ll answer that soon enough, I guess. I don’t know the answer to that right now. So I can’t answer it.

The Eagles center ultimately decided to return to the Eagles for another season, but after the team lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the playoffs, Jason reportedly told his teammates he had played his final game.

As it turned out, the rumors that Jason would be retiring were true. On March 4, 2024, Jason announced that he was walking away from his career as a professional player during a press conference held at the Philadelphia Eagles Training Center.

“Stepping on the field was the most alive and free I had ever felt. It was a visceral feeling with football unlike any other sport,” he said.

He mentioned his brother during his emotional speech, saying, “We won countless Super Bowls in our minds, before even leaving the house.”

These two have a kпack for giviпg back to the commυпity that has sυpported them throυghoυt their careers, aпd they do it iп a big way.

Travis Kelsey set υp 87 aпd rυппiпg back iп 2015, aпd this Foυпdatioп isп’t jυst aпy other rυп-of-the-mill charity.

No, пo sir, it’s all aboυt helpiпg υпderserved yoυth develop life skills, aпd he does it throυgh stem labs aпd edυcatioпal projects.

Travis Kelce Makes Fun of His Brother Jason’s Post-Retirement Exercise Program

Jason’s doing his best adjusting to post-NFL life.

Just over a week after Jason Kelce announced he was retiring from pro football in an emotional press conference, his younger brother Travis joked around with him after hearing Jason’s surprising post-NFL workout regimen.

On the March 13 episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast, New Heights, the two were finishing up when Travis asked Jason, “Got anything fun planned today?”

While there’s no way to know what Travis was expecting to hear, when Jason revealed that he was “going to try and go swimming,” the 34-year-old incredulously said, “Swimming?”

“It’s a good cardio workout for people with bad ankles and knees,” Jason explained, causing his brother to joke about his retirement, saying, “You’re one year retired and you immediately go to the YMCA’s senior citizen workout?”

But Jason was confident in his choices, replying, “Trying to hang onto these joints, baby!” with Travis laughing in response. The elder Kelce brother then revealed that he’s also going ice skating soon, leading the duo to come up with the unique idea to do a podcast episode from an ice rink.

While Jason is trying out ice skating and swimming in retirement, fans eagerly wait to see what else the 36-year-old decides to do now that he’s no longer playing football. He has plenty of options, and the History Channel already extended a fun offer to try out being a blade smith, and Jason seemed interested.

The brothers also considered Jason possibly exploring music again during an episode of their podcast, as the father of three was very active in the school band growing up and even called out his band director in his retirement speech.

But for the time being, Jason still has the successful podcast to do with his brother, and he now has some extra free time to spend at home with his wife Kylie and three daughters, WyattElliotte and Bennett.
