Jason Kelce’s continued transition into media could see more good fortune

Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles news

Recently, we were hanging around, and we were trying to remember when Jason Kelce’s star among Philadelphia Eagles fans and the rest of the NFL reached supernova. This may seem like a lazy investigation, but we settled on his speech at the Super Bowl victory parade. Sure, he always had personality. He was always funny, but there were so many iconic moments in that speech that we determined that’s when he established himself as one of the greatest Birds of all time.

Even now, it’s been well over six years. Occasionally, I find myself in a conversation with my nephew and I’m telling him “hungry dogs run faster” or I’m telling a rival fan that “no one likes us, and we don’t care”.

Yes… It was the speech. It was the speech that taught me Jason Kelce will never have to buy a beer in Philly again, but ever since that day, he’s demonstrated time and time again that he’s destined for a television career.

Wouldn’t you know it? His time has come, and it isn’t just his time. Baby brother is coming along for the ride.

Jason Kelce and younger brother Travis’s New Heights podcast could find its way onto the Amazon streaming platform.

If you’re like most, you’ve probably grown a tad weary of the podcasting circuit. There are nine million. Most are hosted by people who aren’t that interesting, but there are a few worth adding a bookmark. Throw Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights brand in that category.

With just a tad under 2.4 million subscribers on YouTube at the time of this story’s release, New Heights doesn’t just allow two brothers who don’t see one another as often during the football season to hang out with one another. It’s 90 minutes of laughs aired weekly during the offseason.

Truth be told. These guys are naturals at the media thing. New Heights (and Jason’s ‘Kelce’ documentary on Amazon Prime) furthered our opinion that Jason and Travis are destined for television.

Recently, we learned that Jason is expected to join ESPN’s brand as one of the hosts of the highly popular Monday Night Countdown. It appears that the hits keep coming.

Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post reported even more recently that New Heights is negotiating with Amazon to secure a considerable streaming deal.

“The New Heights show could have a new home. Travis and Jason Kelce are in serious talks about bringing their popular podcast to Amazon’s Wondery, The Post has learned… No deal has been finalized… An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment to The Post…

    Wow! That’s huge!

Jason Kelce is a Super Bowl champion, a seven-time Pro Bowler, and a six-time All-Pro. Younger brother Travis is the owner of three Super Bowl rings. He’s a nine-time Pro Bowler, and you may have heard… His girlfriend is one of the biggest pop stars in the world.

But, the coolest thing about Jason and Travis is they’re just two guys we’d want to hang out with. For now, we’ll settle for doing so on YouTube, but you never know…

They may force us to do what Thursday Night Football couldn’t… pay for a Prime Video subscription.

  • Can Jason Kelce Be Replaced by Cam Jurgens Eagles Center ‘Being Myself’

Can Jason Kelce Be Replaced by Cam Jurgens Eagles Center ‘Being Myself’

How many bigger sets of cleats are there to fill than those of Jason Kelce? Cam Jurgens is about to find out.

“At the end of the day just be myself,” said Jurgens about the challenge of being the Philadelphia Eagles’ replacement at center for the retired Jason Kelce. “I’m not trying to be somebody’s replacement or somebody’s next person. I’m just trying to be myself.”

And maybe that is plenty good enough.Cam Jurgens (51) is week-to-week after a foot injury suffered in a win over Washington Commanders.

Before Jurgens was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nebraska, Kelce himself offered an endorsement of the player. … and the plan all along was for the baton to be eventually passed.

Kelce is now an ex-Eagle – and in addition to having forged a Hall of Fame career here, he’s also a lovable folk hero.

Yes, big cleats to fill … and Jurgens knows it, as he demonstrates in his discussions on the subject.

“I think when you start putting it in those perspectives and those terms, people like to compare and you just put different things on your shoulders that you need to carry,” he said. “(But) really it’s, ‘What can I do today, what can I do to learn, what can I do to get better and how can I be the best football player I can be?”

“It’s not, ‘How can I be what he was?”

OK, maybe it is a little bit of that, though. And the good news is that when he has played (at guard last year), he’s fared well. There is some confidence that’s come as a result of that … and some focus going forward.

“I’m not worried about anything else besides what I can control,” Jurgens said, “and I think that’s all I gotta worry about at the end of the day.”

‘NEW NEWS’ Travis and Jason Kelce in talks for shock New Heights move to Amazon in deal which could reach $100 million

TRAVIS and Jason Kelce’s popular podcast could reportedly be on the move.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis and his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason have co-hosted the New Heights podcast since September 2022.

On their weekly podcast, the duo regularly cover the latest NFL stories in their “new news” segment, answer their fans’ “no dumb questions,” and interview a variety of famous guests.

It has proved incredibly popular, even winning the iHeartRadio Podcast of the Year award in March.

Now it appears Travis and Jason could be set to cash in on the podcast, with Amazon’s Wondery “in serious talks” about investing, as per the New York Post.

Suggestions that the podcast could be on the move have circulated since February.

A report at the time claimed a deal for the podcast could reach as much as eight figures, according to Bloomberg.

However, a subsequent report in early March, suggested New Heights could cost far more than initially suggested.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it was $100 million,” podcast company Multitude’s head of development Eric Silver told MarketWatch.

“Companies want Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast because of the deep relationship they have with their audiences,” Silver explained.

New Heights has amassed around 9.6 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and X, formerly known as Twitter.

The show also profits from merchandise, live events, and sponsorships with brands such as Accelerator, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Shady Rays.
I was an NFL Pro Bowler and began acting during my career – Travis Kelce can follow my lead and become a Hollywood star
In April, The U.S. Sun reported that 20 major brands were battling it out to collaborate with New Heights.

An insider said that each deal was worth somewhere between $2 and $4 million per year.

The show was also reportedly attracting interest from TV networks.

In fact, New Heights has become so popular that they are even having to turn down famous faces interested in appearing on the show.

“There are many celebrities and athletes who want to be invited on the show and they are having to say ‘no’ to most of them,” the insider added.

“The choice is always complicated to make, and when the show is on twice a week, more people will want to get invited.”

Beyond the podcast, both Travis and Jason are also finding further success off the gridiron.

Travis was recently cast in FX’s upcoming new horror series, Grotesquerie, according to Deadline.

Set to be directed by American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, Kelse will star alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville.

But Travis’ move to TV won’t stop there.

He is also set to host Amazon Prime’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?

The show will be a spinoff of the much-loved game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

As for Jason, who retired from the NFL following the 2023 season, he is set to join ESPN as an analyst on Monday Night Football in a deal worth $1.8 million annually.

If this wasn’t enough, the brothers have also been in talks about starring in an action movie.

“Their natural and funny personalities would be great to be part of a movie project,” a source told The U.S. Sun of the $100 million project.

Antonio Brown mocks Jason Kelce’s recent comments about possibly having CTE

The former Patriots and Buccaneers wide receiver took Jason Kelce’s admission and turned it into a joke

Mashup image of Jason Kelce and Antonio Brown

Jason Kelce and Antonio BrownLARESSECTE is a brain problem that is caused by constant head injuries that many NFL players have suffered throughout the decades. Players like Jason Kelce have it the worst because they are in the line of scrimmage while getting repeatedly hit on the head. Jason Kelce finally decided to call it quits last season and he recently admitted he may have some level of this medical issue already. In recent days, Kelce was caught saying that he believes race horse Secretariat used steroids during his prime and that there is no way to know he had it for sure. This naturally prompted some interesting reactions from the people who saw his claims.

Antonio Brown latches on to Jason Kelce’s potential CTE

One of the responses from a fan who didn’t agree with Jason Kelce’s claims about Secretariat didn’t take his claims lightly and responded by saying: “[Y]ou know who else makes unsubstantiated claims not backed up by facts. People suffering from CTE. I’ll admit I don’t know whether @JasonKelce suffers from CTE or not, it’s impossible to know.” But Jason Kelce did surprise everybody by responding with: “I mean I can virtually guarantee that I have CTE, all the research would suggest I have some degree of it. I think it is entirely reasonable to assume I have some degree of that pathology.”

    Thank you for watching

A response that retired wide receiver Antonio Brown used to promote a running gag that he has taken a bit too far. In recent months, Brown has actually embraced his potential CTE issues that may explain his erratic behavior. Antonio is known for doing controversial things and he is always talking about this joke that he uses in his tweets every time someone brings up CTE to him. Brown created a social media page known as CTESPN in order to mock the original ESPN network. When Antonio saw a tweet where Jason Kelce says he has CTE, Brown responded by writing: First step is admitting it. #CTESPN.”

Speaking on the NFL network’s show Total Access, Elliott, 29, revealed that Kelce and Fletcher Cox, who also retired from the Eagles in March, have made regular appearances in support of the players.

“You see little little hints of them throughout the locker room now,” Elliott said. “They’ve made a huge impact that’s gonna last a long time and those guys aren’t gonna be far. I know Kelce’s been in the building almost every day already, so they’re always gonna be a big part of our organization.”

When asked if he knew whether Jason would ever reconsider his retirement, Elliott responded, “That’s not my deal — you can talk to Jason about that!”

Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons playing with the Eagles during an emotional press conference on March 4. The same month, he revealed on his podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, that he was still going to the Eagles training facility to “get a couple of weight-lifting sessions in.”

A day after Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce announced his retirement, his wife, Kylie Kelce, spoke about her reaction to her husband’s speech in an exclusive interview with NBC10.

Kylie told NBC10 she had heard her husband’s speech before he addressed the media Monday afternoon.

“I think I was the only one that had heard the speech before he went into it,” she said. “I think it was just a perfect summary of 13 years. It was an incredible run he had as a player in the NFL.”

She also said her husband had been working on the speech for years.

“I’ve heard multiple versions over the last four years. This was a completely different version,” she said. “I think every year he sort of started from scratch as to what was sitting on the surface. But when he said that he was contemplating retirement for years, he means for years.”

Kylie had a front row seat to her husband’s speech on Monday, including the portion in which he spoke about how they first met at an Eagles Christmas party.

“I still remember the moment she walked through the door. The first instance is burned in my retina. It was like she glided through the opening,” her husband said. “Then she started talking and I thought, ‘Man, is this what love feels like?’”

Kylie told NBC10 the moment made her emotional but also amused her.

“It cracks me up that he tries to talk about what he remembers from that night because he was, as I’ve said before, intoxicated,” she said. “It was very, very sweet. Very kind. It was far too much credit.”

Jason Kelce’s speech drew strong reactions from Eagles fans and NFL viewers in general.

“The outpouring of love and support is expected because I know who my husband is and the way he has conducted himself and how that has touched the lives of people,” Kylie said. “But at the same time, it’s still shocking.”

Kylie previously made headlines when her husband revealed that at 38 weeks pregnant, she was planning on bringing her OB-GYN with her to the Super Bowl, which was dubbed the “Kelce Bowl.” Kylie and Jason’s daughters and her parents were also in attendance at the game.

“That could be a super Kelce Bowl. If she has a baby in the stadium, it’s officially scripted,” Jason joked during an early February episode of his and his brother’s podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

I don’t think in his life, Jason ever assumed that he would be the father of three daughters,” Kylie told PEOPLE. “He would always be like, ‘No, no, we’ll get a boy. We’ll get a boy.’ And I’m like, ‘You got to stop challenging the universe. Stop saying it because the universe is like, ‘Yeah, okay,’” she chuckled.

“It’s been amazing to see him sort of transformed from only having a brother, not having any first cousins, so really having like no experience with little girls. And now, he is absolutely head over heels in love with his daughters, and they feed that back to him tenfold,” she added.

  • “There are serious talks” between Travis and Jason Kelce to bring the well-liked New Heights podcast to Amazon

“There are serious talks” between Travis and Jason Kelce to bring the well-liked New Heights podcast to Amazon

Travis and Jason Kelce are edging closer to taking their podcast to new heights amid talks with Amazon, according to a report.

New Heights enjoyed a meteoric rise during the last NFL season with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis dating Taylor Swift, while his team went all the way to Super Bowl victory.

And the success of the podcast has attracted titans of the media industry with the Kelce brothers said to be in ‘serious talks’ with Amazon, according to the New York Post.

The Chiefs star and retired Eagles legend are reportedly discussing bringing the popular show to Amazon’s Wondery.

However, a deal has yet to be finalized.

Jason and Travis Kelce are reportedly in talks with Amazon over their New Heights podcast

The two brothers have seen the popularity of their show surge in recent weeks and months

Travis and Taylor Swift’s relationship has been a key factor in the growth of the podcast

The report comes amid speculation that the brothers could land a nine-figure deal to keep the podcast going following his success, according to the financial information website MarketWatch.

‘Companies want Jason and Travis Kelce ‘s podcast because of the deep relationship they have with their audiences,’ Eric Silver, head of development at Multitude, a podcast collective studio and ad-sales provider, was quoted as saying by MarketWatch.

‘That’s the most important thing in podcasting. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was $100million.’

Silver’s comments follow a report in Bloomberg last week that the Kelces are shopping around for new terms. That report says they could strike a deal of around $80million.

Jason is also continuing his foray into the media away from the podcast too, moving into the broadcast booth amid his recent retirement from the NFL.

It was announced last month that the former center joining ESPN’s coverage of Monday Night Football following his retirement from the NFL, it has been confirmed.

‘Monday Night Football just got even better, Congrats @JasonKelce’ read a statement on the official social media account of the Kelce brothers’ hit podcast New Heights.

His next move had been the subject of intense speculation and, according to The Athletic, the 36-year-old was wanted by a number of networks.

Kelce previously appeared as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night broadcast

NBC, CBS and Amazon are said to be among those who were interested in hiring Kelce, who already offers his opinions on football on New Heights’ weekly episodes.

But ESPN has won the battle for his services, with Kelce expected to be part of the pregame show ‘Monday Night Countdown’.

That is despite Kelce previously appearing as an analyst on Amazon Prime’s Thursday night broadcast. He and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary – ‘Kelce’ – on the streaming service in 2023.

As well as discussing the NFL, the brothers talk about their personal lives – including Travis dating Swift – and their upbringing in Cleveland.

They started the podcast back in September 2022 and release episodes every Wednesday, with a bonus edition coming every Friday during the NFL season previewing the weekend games.

They have 2.3million subscribers and their one hour, 50 minute episode recapping the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl last month has racked up 3.5million views. A guest episode featuring Jason’s wife Kylie talking about Travis and his dating life – before he went public with Swift – has 7.5million views.

Jason Kelce, 36, steps away from football with career earnings of around $81million from his 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Travis, meanwhile, has made an estimated $77m to date with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he is a three-time Super Bowl winner, and recently signed a new two-year extension though the 2027 season with an average annual salary is $17.1m that will make him the highest-paid tight end in football.

Jason and his wife Kylie also filmed a documentary – ‘Kelce’ – on the streaming service in 2023

Jason tearfully announced his retirement from the NFL in March after 13 years

The tight end, 34, has said before that he thinks about retirement more than he admits but will play on for at least one more season with his Chiefs team in pursuit of an unprecedented three-peat.

It’ll make for brilliant content next season on New Heights, too. Speaking on Super Bowl week in Las Vegas, Jason opened up on how the show has helped him maintain his bond with Travis.

‘I haven’t been this connected with Travis, over the last two years, since college,’ he said.

‘And that has been one of the best things, probably the best thing, of the podcast. It forces us – because we are brothers, before this we would go months on our own without talking. We would text, send a funny video but [to] truly sit down and talk with him, it would be a long time.

‘It has been great, it’s the second year, we have gotten a lot better at it, I think. I feel like first of all we have a tremendous team – our input is very minimal, we just talk.

Doing this, you know once a week we are going to sit down and talk. And we are going to have very meaningful conversations, fun conversations and really know where each of us are at in our lives and that’s the most fun part about it.

‘It has reached a higher level thanks to a lot of different factors, including my brother’s love life. But I think it is fun to see people enjoy it and it is fun to see where it is at.’

  • Jason Kelce Uses a Joke About His 5-K Run to Clearly State He’s “Not on Steroids”

Jason Kelce Uses a Joke About His 5-K Run to Clearly State He’s “Not on Steroids”

Earlier this week, Kelce was in the middle of another steroid conversation after making comments about racehorse Secretariat

Former NFL star Jason Kelce continues to make waves on social media — but this time he’s using his platform to shoot down any talk involving him and steroid use.

Responding to a question from a fan on X (formally known as Twitter) who asked “when did [he] start ‘juicing’ and when did [he] stop,” Kelce made it clear that he is “not on steroids” and pointed to a 5K run as evidence.

“Hey anybody that saw my time at the Mike’s Seafood run for autism 5K charity event in Sea Isle City can tell I’m clearly not on steroids!,” Kelce wrote on X.

Earlier this week, Kelce got caught up in another steroid conversation on X after claiming on his New Heights podcast that the Triple Crown-winning horse Secretariat was “juiced to the gills.” After a lengthy explanation for his theory, the former Philadelphia Eagles center then later apologized for his comments.

“I’ll admit I don’t know whether Secretariat was on steroids or not, it’s impossible to know, because in 1973 when Secretariat won the triple crown there was not adequate testing available to find out,” he wrote X on May 9.

“But, the fact this horse had unparalleled muscular stature and died with an enlarged heart, and raced at a time when steroids were extremely prevalent, without adequate testing, raises flags in my book… I’m not saying what Secretariat did was unimpressive, because he was likely also racing against other majorly juiced up horses of his time, and if Secretariat was indeed a natural horse, that would make his accomplishments all the more impressive,” he continued.

    Jason Kelce.

ELIZABETH ROBERTSON/THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER VIA AP

“I just find it highly unlikely given the circumstances of where the sport was at that time, how dominant the horse was in the era, and the records it still holds to this day,” he added.

Kelce closed out the post by writing, “The horse was undoubtedly born with incredible natural mechanics and ability, and may have been natural, but I also think that it’s unlikely given the time it raced and what was happening with a lot of those horses and the lack of testing available.”

“I’m sorry everyone, wasn’t trying to get people riled up, I really thought it was just known that in the 70s steroid use was rampant. I’m not trying to take away from Secretariat’s, or anyone from that era’s legacy. You’re right, without proof it is unfair to assume these things publicly, I apologize,” he wrote on X following the intense backlash to his claims.
