The historic playoff game when Michael Jordan scored 55 points

Anyone who ever played against Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan knows how he turns his game up to an entirely new level in the Playoffs. During Game 2 of the 1st round series between the Bulls and Washington Bullets in the 1997 NBA Playoffs, Jordan put on a show that will never be forgotten. He scored an incredible 55 points, including 20 of the team’s last 23 points, to elevate the Bulls to a 109-104 win and a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-five affair.

    Second half surge

The Bullets were a young, up-and-coming squad that had a promising core of talented players led by Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, and Rod Strickland. They finished the regular season as the eighth-seed to earn a Playoff showdown with the reigning champions. The Bullets were hardly fazed by their opponents as they established a 65-58 halftime lead in Game 2.

However, the Bulls flipped the switch in the third quarter and outscored the Bullets, 28-15. Then, with the Bullets not backing down in the fourth, pulling to within two at 86-84, His Airness went on to score the next 14 points to help the Bulls take a 100-93 lead.

Jordan was just scorching hot in that game, making 22 of his 35 shots and a pristine 10-of-10 from the line. He added seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

    Nothing anyone can do

After the game, the Bullets were left with a feeling of helplessness in the face of Jordan’s greatness. Bullets wingman Tracy Murray, who scored 22 points in that game, said:

“There’s nothing you could do. You double-, triple-team him and he’s triple-pumping, falling and fading away, shooting up-and-unders from 15 and 17 feet away. He had his whole game going. I don’t think Hercules could stop him tonight.”

The Miz Would Be Open To Training Jason Kelce, Thinks The World Is His Oyster

The Miz says he could train Jason Kelce into a superstar.

WWE is heading to Philadelphia for WrestleMania 40, and fans have speculated about former Philadelphia Eagles great Jason Kelce and/or his brother Travis Kelce appearing at the show in some capacity. Seth Rollins previously invited the duo to come to the event. Jason recently retired from the NFL, and his future seems open.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, The Miz was asked about the rumors that the Kelce brothers could get involved with wrestling.

“The way I look at is [as] more of a fan of the Kelces. I’ve played golf with Travis, and what an incredible human being. Even when we were golfing, I was like, ‘When are you coming to WWE? When are you coming to WrestleMania? Jason, I’ve never met him, but those are Cleveland guys, and that guy, he’s played for Philadelphia, it seems like a home run to me. But who knows? He’s retired. He might just want to relax and chill out. Or he’d like to come to Philadelphia for WrestleMania,” The Miz said.

The Miz was then asked whether he would be willing to train Jason Kelce. He expressed that he would be open to it, and he said that he could turn him into a big superstar. The Miz highlighted Jason’s athletic ability and his skills as an entertainer. He noted that he thought the world was Jason’s oyster.

“Hell yeah. I’d train him into a superstar. As big of a superstar as he is in the NFL, we’ll make him as big of a superstar in WWE. He could be very dangerous in a WWE ring. Not only with just the athleticism and the wrestling, which I think he could absolutely do. I’ve watched him jump up at a Bila game from down, and jump up into a window. I was like, ‘Oh my god, this guy’s 300 pounds. How did he do that? That’s incredible.’ Then the athleticism you see on the football field, but then the charisma [too], the ability to talk on a microphone and be captivating and innovative is something that I think he just has a knack for. So whatever I think Jason Kelce wants to do, whether it is to come to WWE for WrestleMania, wink, or do something in podcasting, which he already is, or if he wants to just do something in the NFL, coaching, whatever he wants to do, I think the world’s his oyster,” The Miz said.

Reporter Ashley Carmen even stated that Rogan’s numbers on Spotify do not justify his dominant position. “His Spotify following is still smaller than his subscribers on YouTube, which come in at 16.4 million, and his personal Instagram followers, which are at 18.9 million. But it’s worth noting that Rogan accumulated these Spotify followers over just four years — his show wasn’t on the platform until he signed an exclusive deal in 2020.” So is Travis Kelce’s story over as a podcaster? Certainly not.

‘New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce’ is gaining traction much faster than anyone

Not so long ago, Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce thanked Taylor Swift fans for supporting them as they were nominated and clinched the Podcast of the Year at the 2024 ‘iHeartPodcast Awards’. Apart from their successful career in football, the brothers have a good game in the podcasting field as well.

Their podcasting journey started back in September 2022 and since then they have garnered a bigger audience than many other podcasters in the same industry. As mentioned above, the duo has a massive 938,000 followers. Their podcast “New Heights” has reached ͏impressive rankings on͏ Apple Podcasts in the United States, sitting at no. 40 overall. It’s also holding strong as the no. 3 podcast in the sports category and the no. 2 podcast in the American football genre, according to Chartable.

Their podcast is becoming so huge that the industry is expecting them to have a $100 million net worth just for their podcast. “Companies want Jason and Travis Kelce‘s podcast because of the deep relationship they have with their audiences. That’s the most important thing in podcasting. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was $100 million,”  according to a report from Market Watch.A potential podcasting race between Travis Kelce, who lifted the Super Bowl trophy with the Kansas City Chiefs last month, and Joe Rogan is just starting, and seems like Rogan has the lead by astronomical miles. But Kelce is catching up with the support from the Swifties. Will he eventually make it to Rogan’s level?

A.J. Francis is one of a handful of former football players who transitioned to pro wrestling and are currently at the top of their game in the sport.

Francis played in nine NFL games for the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins before training to become a pro wrestler and eventually earning a shot with WWE. He had two stints with WWE before being released and landing with Major League Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action (TNA).

As a former WWE competitor, Francis knows the company brings out big names for the event. Lawrence Taylor, Rob Gronkowski and George Kittle are among them.

Current WWE star The Miz floated the possibility of Jason Kelce doing something in WWE, possibly even taking part in WrestleMania 40 in some way, being that it is at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. He told TMZ Sports that Kelce would be “dangerous in a WWE ring.”

“I could see a lot of these guys do one off things,” Francis told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. “… But that road life? Football players ain’t ready for it.”

Francis, who went by Top Dolla in WWE, explained that while football training is physically taxing, he’s on the road for most of his year while in pro wrestling.

“I’m not home 20 days in a month as a wrestler,” he said. “I leave Thursday, I got a show Friday, I got a show Saturday, I got a show Sunday and if I’m lucky, I get to go home Monday. It’s just a completely different lifestyle

“The lifestyle of being a full-time professional wrestler — you got to love this s— man. People don’t be lovin’ it. They don’t love it. I love it. Yeah, (Jason) Kelce could have a match at WrestleMania this year. I’m 100% positive that he could. He could bring Travis and Taylor Swift — 100% positive that they could do that.

“But would you show up to RAW the next day? Would you show up to SmackDown on Friday? Would you show up to whatever the (next) pay-per-view is? It’s just a different lifestyle.”

There’s no guarantee the Kelces would show up in Philly or Cleveland for that matter to take part in the WWE festivities. But both NFL stars have shown to have great mic skills with speeches after the AFC Championships and the Super Bowl parade respectively.

  • HC Nick Sirianni Lines Up Jason Kelce’s Possible Replacements at Philadelphia Eagles in Landon Dickerson & Jordan Mailata

HC Nick Sirianni Lines Up Jason Kelce’s Possible Replacements at Philadelphia Eagles in Landon Dickerson & Jordan Mailata

In a recent press conference, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed his excitement about the team’s offensive line prospects following the departure of veteran center Jason Kelce. With Kelce’s retirement leaving big shoes to fill, Sirianni emphasized the talent and potential of the players stepping up to take his place.

The coach also praised the Pro Bowl caliber of both Landon Dickerson and Lane Johnson, emphasizing their consistent performance over the past few seasons. Additionally, Sirianni highlighted Jordan Mailata’s contributions, noting that the young lineman has showcased his ability to play at a high level.

Highlighting the candidates for Kelce’s replacement, Nick Sirianni mentioned Landon Dickerson and Jordan Mailata as two standout players with the capability to step up to the challenge. He said, “What’s great is these guys have been around Jason for three, four, five, six, seven years, um, and so you know we’ll see who that is at center, we’ll see who that is at Right Guard.”

Amidst all the conversation surrounding the experienced players of the side, coach Sirianni also mentioned 24-year-old Cam Jurgens as his prospect for the center position. He highlighted the confidence in the young star’s capabilities along with mentioning the dilemma of choice that remains in his hands at the moment.

Sirianni’s patient approach to Jurgens and Steen decision

Sirianni stressed that the decision of choosing among Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen isn’t happening anytime soon and remains under a factor of evaluation in the upcoming season. He said, “Cam’s got a ton of reps. Jason didn’t take every snap at center last year in practice. I’m really confident he can do it, but we’ll see what happens.” While Sirianni expressed confidence in Jurgens, he acknowledged the importance of assessing the players’ performance during walkthroughs, training camps, and OTAs.

Regarding Steen’s role, Nick Sirianni praised his versatility and expressed optimism about his development despite limited playing time in his rookie season. Steen, drafted in the third round the previous year, showed promise despite his few snaps. Sirianni emphasized Steen’s adaptability and the flexibility he brings to the offensive line saying, “Steen has a lot of different qualities.”The coach further added, “He’s versatile. I think he can do a lot of different things.” As the Eagles navigate the post-Kelce era, Sirianni’s measured approach reflects the commitment to thorough evaluation and strategic decision-making in shaping the future of the offensive line.

Sirianni stated at the conference, “I am really excited about that group that we have. We’ve great offensive line play over the past three years that I’ve been here. Obviously we are losing one of the best players, uh, not only Eagle history but NFL history, um, one of the best centers of all time so obviously there’s going to be things that we got to, you know, work to replace with that.”

The fans want Jason Kelce to make an appearance at WrestleMania 40. It turns out, so does at least one prominent WWE Superstar.

The Miz spoke to TMZ Sports and said he would be open to working with the former Philadelphia Eagles star if he wants to try out professional wrestling.

“He could be very dangerous in a WWE ring—not only with just the athleticism and the part of the wrestling, which I think he can absolutely do,” Miz said this week. “I watched him jump up at a Bills game from, like, down and jump up into a window, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this guy is 300 pounds, how did he do that? That’s incredible.’”

Kelce has long been open about his WWE fandom. With WrestleMania taking place in Philadelphia this year, it would only be natural for Kelce to make an appearance—even if it’s only a one-off to get the crowd hyped.

It’s unclear if Kelce actually wants to compete in WWE or even make an appearance. He’s seemingly been making the most of his retirement, making sporadic public appearances while also hosting a podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

If Jason Kelce does want to step into the ring, The Miz has long been trusted with celebrities as one of the safest workers in WWE. The company entrusted The Miz to be part of major matches for both Bad Bunny and Logan Paul as they were learning the ropes.

Kelce could not be in better hands if history repeats itself.
