LeBron James fully enjoys moments with his family during vacation in the Maldives

It appears that LeBron James is making the most of his unwelcome vacation time.

On Thursday, the 37-year-old NBA superstar uploaded a montage of footage from a family vacation in the Maldives to Instagram.

“Hello, Life…” I merely wish to express my gratitude. The video was captioned by James, who also included prayer palms and a king’s crown emojis.

It seemed that he resided at the Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, a lavish vacation destination situated in the archipelago of the Indian Ocean that features water suites with three bedrooms, waterfront villas, and beach villas.

The Los Angeles Lakers player documented the enjoyable occasions he attended, including boat journeys, bike rides, strolls on the beach, breathtaking sunsets, and opulent dinners.

The highlight reel of the opulent vacation was spliced with the basketball legend’s performance of “TO THE MOON” by Jr. Choi and Sam Tompkins.

TMZ reported that James’s luxurious vacation was attended by, among others, his 35-year-old wife Savannah, confidante Ernie Ramos and his spouse, DJ Bamboozle, and Fara Leff, COO of Klutch Sports.

Savannah, who is jointly-producer with James of 17-year-old son Lebron ‘Bronny’ Jr. and 14-year-old Bryce, and 7-year-old daughter Zhuri, also uploaded a video of the affluent retreat.

The clip was captioned, “The Maldives owes me nothing!” An instance of a journey captured for the archives! The hashtag is ‘BaaAtollMaldives.’

The four-time league MVP vented on Twitter last week about missing the postseason only four times in his eighteen-year career, including stints with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I cannot and will not miss another postseason for the sake of my career!” he tweeted on Friday. “This is absolutely HURT.” I will return to observing these events.

  • When LeBron James reacted to Larry Bird wanting to play with Kobe Bryant instead of him: “I’m an easy target, and I understand that”

When LeBron James reacted to Larry Bird wanting to play with Kobe Bryant instead of him: “I’m an easy target, and I understand that”

LeBron says Bird picked Kobe because he had five rings, and he had none.

Back in 2012, Bill Simmons asked Larry Bird whom he’d rather have as a teammate – Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. Instead of answering the question directly, Larry Legend gave a controversial reply.

Bird said that if he wanted to win, he would pick Kobe. But if he wanted to have fun, he would choose LeBron. When word of Larry’s statement reached Bron, the young King said the Celtics legend was merely counting championships.

“I mean, it’s simple,” James said. “Kobe has five rings, and I have none. It’s easy to say that. If I got five rings and Kobe had none, it’d probably be the other way around.”

    An easy target

When Bird was interviewed, Kobe had won five NBA championships, three with Shaq and two with Pau Gasol. Meanwhile, LeBron’s Big 3 Heat were upset by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals. So, as far as LBJ was concerned, Larry merely picked Bryant because of rings.

Aside from that, LeBron also said he was the most recognizable personality and the best player in the league during that time. Because of that, every mistake he made became a big thing, and it was always too easy for his critics to throw stones at him.

“I’m an easy target — let’s say that,” added James. “When someone wants to get a point across, just throw LeBron’s name in there. If you’re watching cartoons with your kids and you don’t like i,t you say, ‘Blame it on LeBron.’ If you go to the grocery store and they don’t have the milk that you like, you say, ‘It’s LeBron’s fault. I’m an easy target, and I understand that. It doesn’t get to me at all.”

LeBron is the most scrutinized player in NBA history

James was the most highly-touted prospect in the history of the league, and because of the hype surrounding him, expectations were high. But no matter how high those expectations were, LeBron always passed them with flying colors. Well, everything except winning in the NBA Finals.

That year, James was still looking for his first-ever NBA championship. He took the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2007 NBA Finals, where they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs. Then, in his first season in Miami, the Heat were stunned by the Dallas Mavericks during the 2011 NBA Finals. With an 0-2 Finals record at that time, why would Bird pick him over Kobe?

Since then, LeBron has won a total of four championships for three different cities. He captured back-to-back titles in Miami in 2011-12 and 2012-13, got the Cavs their first-ever chip in 2015-16, and added the Lakers’ 17th banner in 2019-20. James is also now the NBA’s all-time scoring leader so it’s interesting to see if Larry would still pick Kobe over him right now.

Prior to teaming with star forward LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell sought out his advice.

While speaking to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Russell revealed the suggestions he received from James prior to his lone All-Star season in 2018-19.

“I was like, ‘Bro, how do you become more consistent of a player?’” Russell said. “He said, ‘I read. I sleep. I eat. My routine is on point.’ I still got the text. And honestly, he was the reason I developed a routine.”

It’s no surprise that Russell took James’ guidance to heart, as McMenamin noted that the 28-year-old “grew up idolizing” him. He even admitted earlier this month that he cried when seeing James play in person for the first time as a child.

“When I was a kid and I’d shoot those jump shots, I’d say, ‘Jordan! Kobe!’” Russell’s father, Antonio, told McMenamin. “He was coming through dunking socks on a hanger basketball goal in the room, like, ‘I’m Bron!’”

Now, Russell is a key running mate for James as he tries to lead the Lakers on another postseason run. Los Angeles is ranked ninth in the Western Conference with a 36-30 record, so the team will need multiple players, including Russell, to step up and support James if it hopes to make it out of the play-in tournament.

James bought the property in Los Angeles in 2020 after it was initially listed for $39 million.

The 2.5 acre plot of land originally held a four-bedroom home from the 1930s.

It had eight bathrooms, two separate guesthouses, seven fireplaces, a tennis court, a movie theater, a swimming pool, and a pool house.

The home featured stunning views of Beverly Hills and the Pacific Ocean, but James had a different vision of how to use the property.

The foundations of LeBron’s new Los Angeles mansion appear to be nearly complete with walls starting to go up on the construction site.

Retaining walls and pillars can also be seen around the property as part of the mansion appears to be going over the hillside.

James already has an impressive real estate portfolio, but this new mansion will be the cherry on top.

He currently owns a $23 million mansion in Brentwood, California which he purchased in 2017.

The 16,000 square-foot estate is his primary residence and has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

The house has features such as a movie theater, wine cellar, cigar room, and spa complete with a steam room, sauna, and massage room.

‘I’m serious’ Stephen A. Smith goes on two-minute First Take rant over LeBron James ‘ruining’ NBA All-Star Dunk Contest

It can be expected that the mansion James is currently constructing will feature similar amenities to the Brentwood mansion.

James also owns a $9 million home in Ohio which he bought back in 2003 when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That home features a two-lane bowling alley, a recording studio, a movie theater, an aquarium, and a barbershop.

James’ massive property in Beverly Hills will likely feature such luxuries and more as it will probably serve as his home when he enters retirement soon.

The 39-year-old is in his 21st NBA season and has one year left on his contract.

  • “Light Skin F**cker Came Into the League”: LeBron James on Stephen Curry Changing 1 Big NBA Tradition Like Pat Mahomes

“Light Skin F**cker Came Into the League”: LeBron James on Stephen Curry Changing 1 Big NBA Tradition Like Pat Mahomes

Every diehard basketball fan would love to indulge in intricate details about a player and a game. Not just like a regular talk show where they regularly debate subjective opinions, LA star LeBron James and former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick‘s new podcast is set to change that trend. ‘Mind the Game’ is created to be a pure conversation about basketball. Airing their first episode today, hosts James and Reddick dived directly to a simple question, “What makes a great basketball player?” What caught most viewers’ attention was when the conversation transitioned to the 3-point revolution that Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors pioneered in the early 2010s.

As they explored the subject of influence in the NBA, they placed the spotlight on Stephen Curry and Allen Iverson as game-changers. Reddick mentioned, “With the three ball, we’ve seen it so often now, no lead is really safe.” The 39-year-old remembered the time when he entered the league and said, “… I played no minutes my first two years. But you know what if we had a 19-point lead going to the fourth, I might get all 12 minutes of garbage time…” Both LeBron and JJ Redick agreed that teams would clear their benches 15 years ago if they were leading the game by double-digit points. However, that can’t happen in the modern NBA.

King James provided the reason as to why that can’t happen today. James said, “I believe in 08/09, whenever that little light-skinned f*cker came in the league. He changed that whole narrative. He single-handedly changed the no lead is safe. It’s like Pat Mahomes right now.”  The Chiefs QB at 28 is already inching toward the record set by Tom Brady. Mahomes now has 3 Super Bowls, 2 league MVPs, 3 Super Bowl MVPs, and 6 Pro Bowl honorees to his name in just 7 NFL seasons.

It was interesting for JJ Reddick to see how Mahomes got into the picture as a comparison. However, he said he didn’t think anyone else influenced the game as much as Curry did. LeBron agreed right away, “When it comes to influence since I’ve been watching the game… Steph and Allen Iverson are the two biggest influential guys in our game since I’ve been watching and covering it. One, they’re 6’3″/6’4″  if you want to look on the back of the basketball card, you know you always a lot taller on the back of the back of the basketball card.”

King James mentioned that Curry and Iverson broke stereotypes, owing to their normal human size but had extraordinary abilities. Kids could see themselves in these players. The Lakers star said, “Allen Iverson and Steph., they were just so relatable, and kids felt like they could be them. They were guys that was not always counted on, they were small in stature, and they just defied the odds… Those two are the two most influential when you play the game, how they changed the game, and the [impact on] kids, those are two guys that you just wanted to watch every single night.”

James entered the podcast world along with ESPN analyst JJ Redick to innovate sports media. The hosts are the producers themselves for the show with their two companies, James’ Uninterrupted and Redick’s ThreeFourTwo Productions. The very first episode released on YouTube gained thousands of views within just an hour. LeBron James and JJ Redick’s insights about the players and the game have given the viewers an idea of how basketball-centric the show is.

Stephen Curry’s impact on the league cannot be understated. The NBA witnessed a dimensional shift during the initial stages of Curry’s career. However, for the longest time, it looked like recurring ankle injuries hampered Curry’s burgeoning career.

Stephen Curry’s three-point revolution transformed the NBA landscape

The 36-year-old simply revolutionized the offensive and defensive strategies and tactics within the league. The game went from an isolation-heavy style of play to a team-oriented, ball-movement style of play within just a couple of seasons. Of course, teams like the 7-seconds-or-less Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs played a similar brand of basketball before. But, it was Curry and the Warriors’ emphasis on three-point shooting that truly transformed the modern game, and statistics back this up.

Between 1979 and 1991, NBA players collectively made 28,926 three-pointers. Remarkably, during the 2022-23 season alone, teams and players surpassed this total, recording a staggering 30,359 successful shots from downtown. As a result, the average distance from the rim has climbed from 12.2 feet (in Curry’s rookie season) to 14.3 during the 2021-22 season.

The pace of the game has also significantly increased as a ripple effect of Curry’s 3-point revolution. Before Stephen Curry entered the league, the average pace was around 90. However, it has risen to an average of 98 in recent seasons. The increase in the pace of NBA games has resulted in more possessions and led to more offensive basketball. Just a decade ago, the Clippers had the highest offensive rating by a team in 2013-14, with a 112.1 rating. However, by standards of the 2023-24 season, this rating would rank as the sixth-lowest offensive performance.

Some people hate Stephen Curry for pioneering the 3-Point revolution, some love him. But no one can argue with the impact that Steph has had on the NBA. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Is LeBron James Worried About Son Bronny’s Mismanagement in the NBA Amid Ownership Tease?

Is LeBron James Worried About Son Bronny’s Mismanagement in the NBA Amid Ownership Tease?

    via Imago

From the time the college season began, Bronny James has been the subject of numerous talk shows. Will he fall to the silhouette of his great NBA father? Can Bronny James be the successor to LeBron James? Will he be an NBA star? Such questions took away from the major premise. He was going to play after recovering from an abrupt cardiac arrest. It was after that very moment that the NBA realm should have known his freshman year wouldn’t go as perceived.

Yet, the debates didn’t stop. The teenager couldn’t produce mind-boggling numbers. He saw a major drop in his rankings, all thanks to ESPN’s mock draft. Analysts began to map his entire career before he had even stepped foot on the NBA court, or at least had any assurance that he would. It drove his father to the edge. “Can y’all please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball? The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know, he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!” James wrote in a now-deleted outburst on Twitter.

As an aging father, he is bound to protect his son while worrying about his career. The 20-time All-Star has spoken highly of his eldest and even voiced his dream to play alongside him. However, his recent words seemed indicative of his worry. Not because Bronny might not be in the NBA but because he might depreciate because of the workings within an organization.

LeBron James puts his worry in front

The much-awaited episode of Mind the Game, a podcast featuring James and JJ Reddick, was released today. The two basketball ‘nerds’ spoke about the game thoroughly. Passing from era to era, they didn’t leave much for their introductory collaboration. Amongst the many topics were the coaches.

Reddick spoke about how various coaches served as basketball role models in his life. They shaped him as a player, and eventually, he developed an understanding of the game that helped him thrive in the NBA as a spot-up shooter. James concurred with his opinion. In doing so, he revealed something absurd about the teachings in the NBA.

“There’s a lot of bu*****t that gets taught in our league because our league has been feast off potential. Guys with potential… That’s the whole thing of the lottery. The whole thing of the lottery picks 1 – 13. I don’t even know what it is now, when it cuts off like you’ve been a lottery pick. But it makes sense that those guys like 16-30, 16 to 42. Why those guys be on real contending teams making impacts,” James said authoritatively.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say so. Even if we look at the last few years, that has been the case. Last year’s Miami Heat is probably the ideal example. They reached the finals, with their major contributors being undrafted players such as Max Struss, Duncan Robinson, and Gabe Vincent. The current-day Knicks are spearheaded by Jalen Brunson, a second-round pick out of Villanova. Alperen Sengun, another rising big man, was the 16th pick in the 2021 draft.

It’s not just the fact that they are the ‘finds’ of the draft. As the draft progresses, teams tend to get more strategic and align their picks with their team dynamics and culture. Today, some of such players are on the best teams in the NBA, having a winning impact on the game. James gave a special mention to the team in OKC, which has now cultivated a top-seed roster mostly with the help of their draft picks.

He even said that the scouts and experts of these teams are the individuals he would want on his own NBA franchise one day. His tone made it seem like it’s a possible reality to see him run an organization very soon. But did his words conceal concerns for Bronny James?

    The case of Bronny James

LeBron James’ words were concise. He called out some behaviors in the league that are unproductive to the development of any basketball player. It’s the reason he credited his coaches earlier in the show – because they instilled the ingenious IQ he has today. The core of any player is how they perceive the game. If given in the wrong hands, it could be detrimental.

Bronny James is a solid player. He can shoot the ball, his instincts are commendable, and he stays active as a defender. Of course, he hasn’t generated nearly the buzz many expected due to his sub-par production for USC. However, if you look at his coach, Andy Enfield, you will see that he sees the 19-year-old as a skilled player who plays the right way.

“He has no ego … Sure, he wants to do well for himself, but he’s all about the team. It’s who he is as a person. He’s the son of one of the greatest basketball players of all time. But when he steps on the court, he’s Bronny—and he’s just one of the guys,” said the Trojans head coach. His influence and trust in Bronny are pivotal to the mental fortitude the teenager will have. So far, even while averaging under 6 points, the Trojans used him in a way that accents his abilities.

The reality is that Bronny James, so far, isn’t bound to be a top pick in the draft. That would mean teams will draft him as a role player adjacent to their needs. Only his case is complex due to the potential of LeBron James wanting to join his team. It’s only a rumor, but it’s tempting for any team that wants to transform or even compete.

    USA Today via Reuters

In that sense, LeBron James’ worries are justified. However, Bronny James’ demeanor should eradicate any such concerns. He always put the team first, something his father has done for 21 seasons now. The last name hasn’t obligated him to act and treat himself like a star. Bronny James works for his place within any roster and has earned the success he has achieved.

Whenever he does make it to the NBA, I think he will have the necessary basketball awareness to sense what works and what part of the NBA can be discarded. Additionally, he will always have LeBron James to rely on to get a deep understanding of the game and the league. Bronny James is in good hands so far. Now, all that’s left is for him to break out of the shell and hopefully leap into the NBA like his father did. And then, he controls his destiny!

In an interview with Spectrum Spectrum Network, Lebron shared about his son’s birth news by saying that it was “one of the best days of my life” on the guest blog.

Firstly, congratulations to Bronny on his engagement this past Monday. He said, “I’m his sister, our family is his brother.” For me personally, it’s even more significant because it’s the first time someone outside of my family has done so. Obviously, I don’t do to collide.

It brings me great joy to watch my kid grow up, as he is the first member of my family to do so. More than a confidant, more than an emotional support system, but more than a faithful companion on his journey, he concluded.

As of right now, the Los Angeles Lakers are a $97.1 million team, and they plan to keep him on the team until 2024. The time would also be such that the future coach would be free to act when his son, the Alsasęеtbаll player, becomes eligible for his first NBA season.

“Wherever Bronny is, that’s where I’ll be,” LeBron said during a February visit last year. “I would like to spend one year with my son, regardless of the circumstances.”
