LeBron James Rips Bronny Criticism After Latest Mock Draft: LEAVE BRONNY ALONE, HATERS!!!

LeBron James Rips Bronny Criticism After Latest Mock Draft, Let Him Be A Kid!

    Getty

LeBron James wants everyone overanalyzing his son’s college basketball career to take a step back … begging Bronny‘s critics to leave “the kid” alone as he continues to work on his game.

The Lakers superstar’s public plea comes on the heels of ESPN’s latest mock draft … which has the 19-year-old USC freshman staying in school instead of going pro in 2024.

    Getty

Worth noting — the 6’4″, 210-pounder has played in 20 games for the Trojans this season … averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists after returning from his cardiac arrest incident he experienced months before the season.

James is clearly fed up with the scrutiny Bronny’s faced so far in his collegiate career … and it’s gotten to the point where he unloaded on social media over it.

    LEBRON ON THE LAKERSLAUNCH GALLERYGetty

“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball,” King James said on Monday. “The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”

Bronny’s game was always going to be under the microscope — not only because of his famous father, but also considering said pops has publicly stated his dream is to be NBA teammates with his eldest son.

BRONNY JAMES ON THE COURTLAUNCH GALLERYGetty

LBJ also had words for anyone else feeling pressure from the media … adding, “And to all the other kids out there striving to be great just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding.”

“These Mock Drafts doesn’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL PEOPLE! ✌🏾👑”

  • LeBron James Made Los Angeles Lakers History Against Warriors

LeBron James Made Los Angeles Lakers History Against Warriors

LeBron James made Los Angeles Lakers history during Saturday’s game.

On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are playing the Golden State Warriors (at home).

During the game, four-time NBA Champion LeBron James made Lakers history by moving ahead of Derek Fisher (2,685) for 11th on the team’s all-time assists list.

Following Fisher, the next player for James to pass will be Nick Van Exel (2,749).

James is in his sixth season playing for the Lakers and is currently averaging 25.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 52.7% from the field and 40.3% from the three-point range in 58 games.

The Lakers came into the evening as the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 36-31 record in 67 games.

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Sacramento Kings by a score of 120-107.

James had 18 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and two steals while shooting 6/16 from the field and 2/8 from the three-point range in 40 minutes of playing time.

At 39 years old, he is still averaging an incredible 35.2 minutes of playing time per game.

Following the Warriors, the Lakers will play their next game on Monday evening when they host the Atlanta Hawks.

James joined the Lakers in the summer of 2018, and he has helped them make the NBA playoffs three times.

They won the 2020 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat and are coming off a year where they lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.

  • LeBron James gets 1.3 million YouTube views in one day with first episode of new podcast

LeBron James gets 1.3 million YouTube views in one day with first episode of new podcast

LeBron James is continuing to expand his presence on social video platforms. The four-time MVP is the co-host of Mind the Game, a podcast that has drawn a large audience since its arrival on YouTube on March 19.

Mind the Game features the basketball-related musings of King James and retired sharpshooter J.J. Redick. In the first episode of their show, the two hardcourt vets discuss the recipe for a success basketball player. That open-ended question leads into a wide-ranging conversation that covers numerous NBA topics, including the current fate of James’ Los Angeles Lakers.

James is arguably the most famous athlete in the world, so it’s not surprising that the first episode of his new podcast drew 1.3 million views in a single day and brought 227,000 subscribers to Mind The Game‘s home channel. Cut-down clips from the episode are also bringing in traffic across YouTube’s long-form and short-form formats.

The launch of a video podcast represents a new creative direction for James. The NBA legend’s previous YouTube shows were high-budget docuseries produced by James’ Uninterrupted brand. With Mind The Game, co-producers Uninterrupted and ThreeFourTwo are hopping on the trend of YouTube video podcasts. James’ Mind The Game co-host knows a thing or two about successful podcasts; Redick’s show The Old Man and the Three has become a trusted source for basketball news, bringing more than one million subscribers to the Duke alum’s official YouTube channel.

By teaming up with Redick, James is showing that his legendary awareness extends far beyond the basketball court. He is paying attention to the formats that are driving product innovations and brand deals on platforms like YouTube, and his reward has been massive viewership (so far).

Don’t expect James to limit his digital media ventures to a single podcast. He has also indicated his interest in video game streaming, whether it be on YouTube, Twitch, or Kick. And a recent deal between James’ Lakers and Logan Paul‘s Prime Hydration has led to rumors that the two Northeast Ohio natives will meet in a wrestling match.

Together with April McDaniel, founder of the Crown + Conquer creative agency, Savannah is set to host the Everybody’s Crazy podcast.

In an Instagram Story on their new account, the duo provided fans with a phone number to contact for a discussion with Savannah and April.

Their hotline went live on Monday, with a behind-the-scenes clip from their recording shared on Instagram.

Included in the post was a question for fans to answer, reading, “How do we feel about PDA (public displays of affection) in the club??”

Exactly when and where the podcast will be available, or how frequently it will be released, is yet unknown.

Meanwhile, the first episode of LeBron’s new podcast was released on Tuesday.

Hosted together with former NBA star turned ESPN broadcaster JJ Redick, the first episode was titled What Makes a Great Basketball Player?

The show is produced by LeBron’s Uninterrupted as well as JJ’s ThreeFourTwo Productions.

In Tuesday’s episode, LeBron and JJ discussed the game over some glasses of wine.

One topic that stood out was their discussion about Golden State Warriors star, Steph Curry.

LeBron lauded Curry’s impact on the sport, claiming that an in-game lead is no longer safe thanks to him.

‘LeBron James has to take a step back’ claims Undisputed star despite ‘great numbers’ in Lakers defeat by Warriors

“Steph and Allen Iverson are the two biggest influential guys in our game since I’ve been watching and covering it,” LeBron said.

The Los Angeles Lakers star pointed to their height, as well as how relatable both are adding, “Kids felt like they could be them.

“They were guys that were not always counted on. They were small in stature, and they just defied the odds.

“So you’ve got AI who’s like [an] unbelievable crossover, cornrows, arm sleeves – everybody wears arm sleeves now because of Allen Iverson, and he’s going in the trenches laying it up over bigs.

“And now you’ve got Steph who’s shooting over the Empire State Building.”

Mind the Game’s first episode had already amassed over 350,000 views on YouTube just nine hours after going live.

  • LeBron James explains why he thinks Jayson Tatum is elite

LeBron James explains why he thinks Jayson Tatum is elite

James praised Tatum’s growth and basketball resume

    Getty Images

LeBron James gave major praise to Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum while on his new podcast venture with former NBA player JJ Redick, “Mind the Game.” While talking about Tatum’s growth over the years, James pointed out the amount of success he’s experienced while still being rather young.

“He’s 25 years old and I believe he’s been to the conference finals four times, been to the NBA Finals once, he’s 25 years, I didn’t win my first one until I was 28, I think [Jokic] won his first one at 27, I think [Michael Jordan] was 28 as well,” James said. “I think we have a lot of expectations on [Tatum], but he’s experienced a lot of winning in his career so far. Obviously, everyone wants to see him get over the hump, but four conference finals and a Finals appearance before the age of 26 is – that’s elite.”

James continued to talk about their prospects of making another deep postseason run this year, too.

“He continues to grow, and they are in a position to make another title run,” James said. “And like you said, personnel helps. Add [Kristaps] Porzingis and getting Jrue [Holiday] for a bag of Lay’s potato chips, that helps as well. But when you go and you start scouting for Boston, [Tatum’s] the No. 1 guy, for sure.”

Tatum’s been once again operating at an MVP level, averaging 27.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and five assists while shooting 47.4% from the field and 37.9% from deep. While he does get the attention of All-Star nods, All-NBA honors, and being mentioned in the MVP conversation, he’s still a bit underrated. As LeBron pointed out, he’s been operating at such a high level since he entered the league. He immediately contributed to winning in his rookie season, helping get the Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals while leading Boston in scoring in the postseason with 18.5 points, again as a rookie. That’s not normal for most players entering the league.

Tatum has never experienced a season without making the postseason and has only lost in the first round once in his seven years in the NBA. While he hasn’t managed to reach the ultimate goal of winning a championship, that doesn’t discount the massive success he experienced before turning 26. As someone who underwent massive amounts of criticism from the moment he entered the NBA, James is the perfect person to give perspective on that.

  • LeBron James gifts every member of March Madness team Duquesne a new pair of sneakers ahead of their first NCAA Tournament game since 1977

LeBron James gifts every member of March Madness team Duquesne a new pair of sneakers ahead of their first NCAA Tournament game since 1977

LeBron James gifted a pair of shoes to every member of Duquesne’s men’s basketball team ahead of the Dukes first NCAA Tournament game since 1977 on Thursday.

Duquesne had to win the Atlantic-10 Conference Tournament to book a place in March Madness and did so by winning four games in five days, including over the conference’s regular-season champions, Dayton.

James’ gift to Duquesne was not just out of appreciation. His first high school coach at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School, Keith Dambrot, is at the Dukes’ helm.

Dambrot is retiring from coaching at the end of this season to take care of his wife, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

For the biggest game for the Dukes in almost a half-century, James gifted each player a pair of his Nike LeBron XXI shoes.

    — Duquesne Basketball (@DuqMBB) March 20, 2024

The shoes are blue and grey, while Duquesne’s colors are navy and red. While the Dukes may not wear the gifted shoes during March Madness, each player to receive the shoes appeared elated.

Duquesne earned a No 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will play BYU on Thursday with its season on the line.

The Dukes have not advanced beyond the first round of the NCAA Tournament since 1969, when the program last made the Sweet 16.

Dambrot has never led a team to victory in the NCAA Tournament, but the Dukes have the highest seed of any team he has coached in March Madness.

During his tenure at Akron, the Zips qualified for three NCAA Tournaments.

  • LeBron James’s Coaching Move Speaks Volumes About the Future Path of the NBA Icon

LeBron James’s Coaching Move Speaks Volumes About the Future Path of the NBA Icon

LeBron James, an NBA offseason participant, is honing his skills as a coach despite his immense prowess on the court.

Aside from playing a game on the Nike EYBL circuit, the four-time NBA champion was captured on camera providing instructions from the sidelines to his 16-year-old son Bryce, who is a member of the Strive For Greatness team coached by James and former teammate Rajon Rondo.

They were pitted against New Heights Lightning in Peach Jam, the Nike EYBL spring and summer league championship tournament, which was played in Augusta, Georgia. The tournament is regarded as a preeminent high school basketball competition in the United States, attracting teams from notable athletes including Bradley Beal, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony.

James, overcome with elation, was observed enthusiastically raising his fist from the sidelines as his team overcame a 10-point deficit to force overtime. With 27 points from Brayden Burries, James led Strive for Greatness to victory as their coach. The team’s current tournament record is one defeat and two victories.

They defeated the Expressions 78-69 in the opener, then fell to the Florida Rebels 72-67 in the rematch on Wednesday, before defeating the Lightning in overtime.

Bryce, who is reportedly poised to transfer from Sierra Canyon to Campbell Hall after receiving his first Division I offer from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, will follow in the footsteps of James, who has also decided to pursue a basketball career. Bryce is 16 years old. Bronny James is widely considered to be a primary target for the 2024 NBA Draft and will be a member of the USC squad for the upcoming season.

Baron Bellamy, the son of comedian Bill Bellamy, and Richard Hamilton II, the son of former NBA star Richard Hamilton, are among the sons of notable athletes with whom Bryce is scheduled to perform. David Grace, the chief coach at Campbell Hall, is ecstatic to have the chance to assist Bryce in the development of his basketball abilities.

“If given the opportunity to coach Bryce, I want him to be Bryce,” Grace told ESPN. “Because that is unique, and I want him to develop and benefit the most from his time at Campbell Hall.” It will be far more than just me assisting him, but I will do my best to contribute. I can partially grasp the perspective from which he is speaking. I do not identify as him.

“While my family did not receive the same level of attention, I have been in a similar situation and can either relate my own experiences or at least empathize with his. “In that area will I develop professionally as a coach.”

Bronny James, the older brother of Byrce, has chosen to enroll at the University of Southern California (USC) and will don number six, just like his father.

James will be hopeful the sixth overall pick benefits him, and he may declare for the NBA Draft the following year. Following four years at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, James made the decision to remain in close proximity to his family while also pursuing athletics at USC.

LeBron James remarked, “One of the greatest days of my life,” following his son’s acceptance to USC for the upcoming season. “He is the first member of my family to attend college. “Regardless of the game’s outcome, I could not afford to lose today.”

  • Legend LeBron James becomes the first player in NBA history to score 40,000 points

Legend LeBron James becomes the first player in NBA history to score 40,000 points

After being the youngest player in history to reach all even points (1000, 2000, 3000… to 39,000), LeBron James has reached 40,000 points in his NBA career.

Already the owner of many records in the NBA, LeBron James has just successfully conquered a new milestone. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar became the first player in NBA history to score 40,000 points in his career.

The shot that put LeBron in history was a left-handed shot at the beginning of the second half of the Lakers’ match hosting defending champion Denver Nuggets on March 3. He surpassed Michael Porter Jr. with his forte spin-move and successfully finished close to the basket.

The match continued until the Lakers called a timeout about 1 minute later, creating an opportunity for LeBron James to receive applause from 19,000 fans at Crypto.com Stadium.

“Personally, I am always grateful that he is still playing, still showing us extraordinary things. I am very honored to be LeBron James’ coach and to witness this special moment,” Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham shared.

Before entering today’s match, LeBron James was only 9 points short of reaching the 40,000 milestone. This season, despite his age, the Lakers star still averaged 25.3 points, 7.9 assists and 7.1 rebounds.

Comes with an index of 52.5% FG, long throw of 40.8% 3PT and 73.6% FT. These are the best statistics ever seen in history, both for a 39-year-old player and for a player playing the 21st season of his career.

To make a small comparison, Vince Carter previously averaged the most points in the 21st season with… 7.4 points/game, 3.5 times less than what LeBron currently has.

In addition to the 40,000-point game, LeBron James also extended another NBA record streak of 1,205 consecutive games scoring 10 points or more. The last time James had 9 points or less happened more than 17 years ago, when he was just 22 years old.

“I actually never thought about focusing on breaking records, it was just something that happened naturally as I pursued bigger goals,” LeBron James shared on March 2.

“I play basketball the right way, respect it and pay attention to it. Then just like that, basketball returned to me, giving me the achievements and records that everyone witnessed. My goal is to win and be champion. Scores and records will come along with that journey.”

Statistics site ESPN said that LeBron James is the youngest player in NBA history to reach all even-scoring milestones (1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000…) up to the present time. The numbers 39,000 and 40,000 points are being monopolized by James alone.

Another statistic shows that LeBron has been in the top 20 players scoring the most points in the season for 20 consecutive years. Although this year’s season is not yet counted, it is very likely that James will extend this achievement to 21 years.

The above two statistics show that LeBron James is not only an excellent scorer but also durable and extremely stable. He maintained good form throughout 2 decades, lasting from 2003 until today.

It is a pity that this special achievement of LeBron James came incomplete. He and his Los Angeles Lakers teammates lost to the defending champion Denver Nuggets with a score of 114-124.

“For me the most important thing is still to win. So conquering this milestone is also special but I don’t like the feeling that it comes in a loss,” LeBron James said.
