  • LeBron James’s Coaching Decision Sends a Powerful Message About the NBA Icon’s Future Path

LeBron James’s Coaching Decision Sends a Powerful Message About the NBA Icon’s Future Path

In addition to participating in a Nike EYBL game, the four-time NBA champion was seen on camera giving his 16-year-old son Bryce, a player on the Strive For Greatness team led by James and former teammate Rajon Rondo, instructions from the sidelines.

In Peach Jam, the Nike EYBL spring and summer league championship tournament held in Augusta, Georgia, they were matched up against New Heights Lightning. Known as the best high school basketball competition in the country, teams with well-known players like Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Bradley Beal participate in the event.

James was so happy that he was seen wildly pumping his fist from the sidelines when his team battled back from a 10-point hole to force extra. Brayden Burries scored 27 points to help Strive for Greatness win under James’ coaching. There has been one loss and two wins for the team thus far in the competition.

They won the first game 78-69 against the Expressions, lost the rematch on Wednesday 72-67 against the Florida Rebels, and then prevailed over the Lightning in overtime.

Following in the footsteps of James, who has also chosen to pursue a basketball career, Bryce is apparently ready to move from Sierra Canyon to Campbell Hall after earning his first Division I offer from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Sixteen is Bryce’s age. Bronny James will be a member of the USC team for the following season and is largely regarded as the top pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Among the famous athletes’ sons Bryce is set to perform with are Baron Bellamy, comedian Bill Bellamy’s son, and Richard Hamilton II, former NBA great Richard Hamilton’s son. Chief coach David Grace of Campbell Hall is thrilled about the opportunity to help Bryce further his basketball career.

Grace stated to ESPN, “If I have the chance to coach Bryce, I want him to be Bryce.” I want him to grow and get the most out of his time at Campbell Hall because that makes him special. I will try my best to help, but it will take much more than just me to help him. I get some sense of the viewpoint he’s talking from. I’m not who I think I am.

“In that area will I develop professionally as a coach? My family did not receive the same level of attention, but I have been in a similar situation and can relate my own experiences or at least empathize with his.”

Byrce’s older brother, Bronny James, will wear number six, as his father did, at the University of Southern California (USC).

James might declare for the NBA Draft the following year, hoping that the sixth overall pick works in his favor. After attending Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles for four years, James decided to attend USC to continue his athletic career while still being near his family.

“One of the greatest days of my life,” said LeBron James after learning that his son had been accepted to USC for the upcoming season. “He is my family’s first college student, so I could not afford to lose today, no matter how the game turned out.”

A photo of LeBron James taken with Bow Wow has caused a stir among fans due to their striking resemblance

Recently, a picture of NBA player LeBron James smiling with rapper Bow Wow went viral. Fans laughed at the picture, saying James, 37, appears old enough to be Bow Wow’s stepfather.

    .

In the picture, the 6’9″ James is pictured towering over a beaming Bow Wow and putting his arm around the short rapper. Fans quickly brought attention to the disparity in their appearances and heights in the picture, despite the fact that both are now in their mid-30s.

One fan noted in a tweet, “LeBron got 5 years on Bow Wow but looks 15 years older!” James, a 19-season veteran, appears wiser than his years in comparison to the youthful-looking Bow Wow.

Another person wrote, “Bow Wow is 34 looking 24 and LeBron is 35 years old with a receding hairline!” “The time of Father is unbeaten.”

James was sarcastically referred to in other comments as Bow Wow’s “uncle” and “step daddy” in the peculiar combination. A lot of tweets linked Bow Wow’s trendy look and onesie pyjamas to James’ receding hairline and greying beard.

The widely shared memes mock James’ reputation as an aged statesman in contrast to Bow Wow’s defiance of ageing. James, though, retweeted his best responses after taking the jabs about the picture in stride.

Though jokes were made about James’ older appearance, his mature manner is probably a result of the demands of his extended NBA career. King James enjoys taking on a fatherly role off the court, both for his own children and for mentees such as Bow Wow.

LeBron James, who is 37 years old and has won four titles, has earned the right to be seen as a veteran. He’s more than willing to comply if it means being made fun of in humorous pictures as Bow Wow’s stepfather.

LeBron James Gives Bicycles to Akron Students: A Pedal towards a Brighter Future!

Even though LeBron James is moving from Cleveland to Los Angeles, he has continued to support his hometown of Akron, Ohio. This Thursday, the basketball star and the Akron school board opened the I Promise School, a facility for at-risk children who are having difficulties both at home and in the classroom.

One of its main projects? A bicycle and helmet will be given to each of the 240 pupils.

James has previously given bikes as gifts to young children before this scheme. Bicycles are now an essential part of the LeBron James Family Foundation’s outreach initiative. And a big part of it is because, growing up in Akron, riding a bicycle provided James with a means of escape.

“LeBron’s bike provided him with the necessary mobility to reach secure locations such as community centers and basketball courts after school,” e-mailed Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation, to Bicycling. “Those two wheels opened doors for him and provided resources that he otherwise would not have had access to.”

James rode around the streets with children and families during a bike-a-thon in 2008, one of the foundation’s first events in Akron. For Campbell, though, it was a one-and-done deal.

She remarked, “LeBron knew he could do more.”

Thus, in 2011, James started a program called Wheels for Education, wherein a new bike and helmet were given to each incoming class of third graders. Since then, the initiative has changed to become the I Promise School.

LeBron feels that giving motorcycles to his students is vital since he understands how much he depended on one during his childhood. He had to bicycle if he wanted to go somewhere because his family didn’t own a car, Campbell said. It made it possible for him to remain secure and out of danger. LeBron wants his children to learn that from these bikes.

Not to mention that James encourages his children to be active and get outside by having access to bicycles.

Going forward, a Huffy bike and helmet will be given to each student enrolled in the I Promise School. Additionally, the program has a partnership with the Bike Kitchen and the Summit Cycling Center in downtown Akron, where students can bring their bikes for upkeep and repairs.

“Our goal is to ensure that all the students require is taken care of, allowing them to concentrate on obtaining their education,” stated Campbell.

The bikes are merely a component of the I Promise School program. The school will operate longer than a typical school year and concentrate on getting students who are behind in the curriculum up to speed. Classes began on Monday. According to SBNation, the school will also offer resources to families, such as assistance with job placement and an on-site food bank.

  • LeBron James Sends Telling Message on Lakers’ Playoff Push

LeBron James Sends Telling Message on Lakers’ Playoff Push

GettyLeBron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers have gained some separation from the Golden State Warriors in the Play-In Tournament race, building a 1.5-game lead over their Western Conference counterparts entering play on March 24.

The Lakers remain three games behind the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks for seventh and eighth place, respectively. They also have a tougher remaining strength of schedule than Dallas and Golden State, per Tankathon.

That is a non-factor in their approach in the eyes of LeBron James, though.

“At the end of the day, we’re not really focused on seeding,” James said, per the Los Angeles Times’ Dan Woike. “We’re just focused on what we can control. We can’t control the seedings if other teams are playing too well still. What you can control is go out and play and try to win as many games as you can and see where you land.”

LeBron James on the #Lakers‘ fourth-quarter execution and defense against the Sixers.

Getting the ninth seed would mean a home game for James and the Lakers against the 10th-seeded Warriors in the first round of the Play-In Tournament.

Their last regular season meeting on April 9 could have significant postseason implications.

LeBron James, Lakers Heading for Another Road-Heavy Postseason

The Lakers are down in the season series two games to one. They also have a 26-12 record at home compared to 12-20 on the road. But their lone win did come on the road, perhaps strengthening their view on seeding.

They will also face a road-heavy path back to the Western Conference Finals if they advance that far into the playoffs.

Lakers perfect playoff run & an instant statue for LeBron & AD:

beat GS in play-in G1beat SAC in play-in G2beat OKC in Rd. 1beat Clippers in Rd. 2beat Nuggets in Conf. Finalsbeat Celtics in NBA Finals

the perfect playoff run.it definitely won’t happen.but damn.

Their route in 2023 was similar after they finished as the seventh seed.

They were still the lower-seeded team in their three playoff series, one each against the Warriors, Denver Nuggets, and Memphis Grizzlies. James and the Lakers dispatched the Grizzlies and Warriors in six games apiece.

They only looked overmatched in the sweep by the Nuggets. So it makes sense for their focus to remain on being at their best for a potential rematch.

They wouldn’t meet the Nuggets in a potential rematch until the Western Conference Finals.

Lakers Insider Offers Clarity on Injuries

The saga of the injured Lakers continues. There have been conflicting reports on the health status of Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Christian Wood.

But The Athletic’s Lakers insider Jovan Buha cleared some things up.

“Wood is expected to miss the rest of the regular season; there’s a chance he’ll return for Play-In game(s) or the playoffs if the Lakers get there, according to team sources,” Buha wrote on March 22.

“There is less clarity with Vanderbilt and Vincent. Neither has been ruled out for the rest of the season, but of the two, there is more internal optimism that Vanderbilt will return before the regular season ends next month, according to team and league sources. If either or both players had been healthy, they may have altered the direction of the Lakers’ season.”

The Lakers haven’t had those three for most of the season. There is less of an adjustment if they remain out.

Darvin Ham Sheds Light on Injured Lakers’ Statuses Amid Conflicting Reports

Still, the lack of depth could be concerning entering the postseason.

The Lakers have mostly avoided significant injuries to James and Anthony Davis this season. Both have battled injuries over the last few seasons. They will certainly need them even more without those members of the rotation.

All About LeBron James’ Wife Savannah and Their Kids: “Super Duper Proud”

If there’s one thing LeBron loves more than basketball, it’s his family!

As arguably the greatest player in NBA history — with all due respect to Michael Jordan, of course — it’s only fitting that LeBron James is also regarded as one of the best Olympic athletes of all time.

With two Olympic gold medals (earned in 2008 and 2022) sitting next to his myriad of NBA awards in his trophy case, LeBron showed — more than once — that he can lead a team of NBA all-stars to new heights on an international stage. Although it should come as absolutely no surprise, LeBron’s Olympic highlight reel is genuinely jaw-dropping.

With the 2024 Summer Games just around the corner, NBC Insider is spotlighting what drives the future Hall of Famer behind the scenes: his family. Believe it or not, if there’s one thing LeBron loves more than the game of basketball, it’s his beautiful wife and children! Here’s everything you need to know about LeBron James’ family.

    LeBron James’ Wife Savannah

A legendary Olympic athlete is only as good as the man or woman standing beside them, and LeBron James is no exception. James married his childhood sweetheart, Savannah Brinson, in a larger-than-life 2013 wedding attended by plenty of celebrities.

The couple began dating when they were just sixteen — Savannah caught LeBron’s eye, and their first date included attending a local basketball game (what else?) and enjoying a romantic meal at a nearby Outback Steakhouse, according to New York Magazine‘s The Cut. The pair have been inseparable ever since. We always love a story of two high school sweethearts standing the test of time — and Savannah has never wavered in her support for her husband. In fact, she famously planted her flag in the ground during a recent awards ceremony.

“I think LeBron James is the baddest to ever set foot on a basketball court,” Savannah professed during the 2023 ESPY Awards, per Revolt. “Nobody works harder. Nobody cares more and nobody has done more for the game of basketball.”

We don’t think anybody can argue with that. All relationships should aspire to have this much spousal support!

Say hello to the James children, everyone: Meet Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri.

Nine-year-old Zhuri Nova James was born in 2014, just one year after LeBron and Savannah tied the knot. The youngest member of the James family is interested in fashion and memorably attended the premiere of LeBron’s Space Jam movie in July 2021 alongside her parents.

Bryce Maximus James, now sixteen years old, was born in 2007 in the middle of a particularly hectic part of LeBron’s schedule — he was playing in the NBA Finals at the time! Like his father, Bryce has a natural knack for playing ball — in 2022, he received his first Division I scholarship offer from Duquesne University. Thankfully for the teen — and the family — he has plenty of time to decide where he wants to attend college.

His eldest son, 19-year-old Bronny (LeBron James, Jr.), is well on his way to following in his dad’s footsteps. Bronny recently finished his freshman season playing for USC, where the 6’4″ guard averaged nearly 20 minutes per game in an ultimately disappointing year for the Trojans (they failed to make the NCAA tournament).

Still, as one of the best prospects in college basketball, Bronny’s future on the hardwood looks overwhelmingly bright — and he has no bigger fan than his father. In fact, LeBron James went on the record a few years ago saying he doesn’t intend to retire from the NBA until he can play with Bronny.

“My last year will be played with my son,” he told The Athletic in 2022. “Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

Playing alongside his son would be a historic NBA first — no father-son duo has ever been in the league at the same time. (No pressure, Bronny!)

The sports world stood still in July 2023 when Bronny suffered cardiac arrest while working out with his USC teammates. Thankfully, in the months since, he’s made a full recovery, with a healthy prognosis for his basketball future in tow!

As of press time, there is no news surrounding whether Bronny will forgo his remaining years of collegiate eligibility and declare for the 2024 NBA Draft — but if and when that day comes, nobody will be more excited than his parents.

But even if the boys decided to pursue different careers, Savannah will support them. She told The Cut, “Listen, I want nothing for them except for their happiness. That’s it. In whatever it is that they decide to do, I’m here supporting and rooting for them. I’m their biggest fan always. If they decide to go the NBA route or a different route, whatever that is, I’m here.”

As for daughter Zhuri, Savannah shared that the 9-year-old isn’t playing basketball yet, but she’s definitely a fan of the sport. “She’s the loudest in the house and is like, ‘Hey, Mom, what time does the game come on?’” the 36-year-old revealed.

    LeBron James’ Quotes on Fatherhood

Unsurprisingly, LeBron brings the same fierce determination and drive to the best he’s shown on the hardwood for two decades to the world of parenting. Much like the late Kobe Bryant, he isn’t afraid to show off his “girl dad” vibes for all the world to see!

“My daughter is the greatest thing in my life, along with my boys,” he confessed to PEOPLE in 2023. “So, whenever she smiles, it don’t matter what I’m doing, it makes me happy.”

Don’t worry, though. Zhuri doesn’t get all of the attention. LeBron’s sons still get plenty of rave reviews from their dad. As someone who bypassed college and went directly from high school to the NBA, LeBron is well aware of the significance of Bronny attending college (and Bryce following his brother’s lead in a few years).

“I’m super proud of [Bronny], our family is proud of him,” LeBron told PEOPLE. “For me personally, it’s even more special to me because it’s the first time someone out of my family to go to college. Obviously, I didn’t go to college. It’s just a proud moment to see my son go to college. Super duper proud, super emotional, but just super duper excited and happy for his journey.”

Pride, love, and support — that’s all anybody really needs, and LeBron James brings it to his family in spades.

NBC and Peacock will present live coverage of the Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26, beginning at noon ET. Telemundo will provide Spanish-language coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Primetime coverage will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock.
