Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s ongoing romance has support from Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, the Super Bowl-winning coach shares with PEOPLE.

Just after the Chiefs defeated the New England Patriots 27-17 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Reid shared his reaction to the superstar singer’s ongoing attendance and its impact on the team.

“Listen, I’m a big fan so I’m glad she was here and I hope she enjoyed it,” Reid tells PEOPLE. He adds, “She’s got a great guy she’s dating right now, so I’m happy for both of them.”

Reid has been vocal about his approval of the couple during several interviews since the NFL star and singer began dating.

During an appearance on Outkick’s The Five Spot in October, Reid revealed, “I knew her from Philadelphia; her dad was a big NFL fan, so I had met her when she was real young, and her dad.”

Reid also jokingly took credit for orchestrating the romance between Swift and Kelce during his interview with Outkick. “I joked about setting Kelce up, and, you know, I’m just saying!” Reid said, laughing with the show’s host.

“She’s a good girl, she’s into it, we’re glad she’s here,” Reid added of Swift at the time.

The “Karma” singer, meanwhile, was in good spirits as she cheered on her beau, but one of her animated reactions quickly went viral when Kelce took a hit during the third quarter.

The tight end missed a pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes while Patriots cornerback Myles Bryant was defending him on a third down.

Afterward, Kelce threw up his hands and looked to the referees, seemingly upset that they did not call pass interference on Bryant, and Swift was equally — if not more — upset.

After the no-call, the “Karma” singer, who watched the game from a suite, was seen in a clip shared by ESPN jumping to her feet and yelling something while motioning toward the field.

Alana Haim — who watched the Chiefs-Patriots matchup in the same box as the singer, her dad Scott Swift and Brittany Mahomes — also appeared upset about the third-quarter no-call, throwing her hands up exasperatedly.

Luckily, the Chiefs still turned the drive into a scoring one, taking their four-point lead up to seven points with a field goal seconds later.

In her TIME 2023 Person of the Year interview, published Dec. 6, Swift revealed that after attending a few Chiefs games to support Kelce, she has taken a liking to football.

“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift told the outlet, adding, “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Swift acknowledged the heightened attention on her during games, which began when she attended her first Chiefs matchup on Sept. 24.

At the time, some football diehards aired their grievances at seeing coverage of the “Cruel Summer” singer during games, but Swift shared in the TIME article that she has no control over this.

“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” Swift said. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the-camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

And the singer does not attend the games to appear on TV — she goes to cheer on her beau.

“I’m just there to support Travis,” she told TIME, adding, “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”

Last July, Donutology’s two stores in the city made 20,000 donuts in a single weekend after marketing “Tayl-gating” 30-packs, including Lavender Glazes and Caramel Is a Cat bismarcks, to meet the demand of 74,000 Swifties at two Arrowhead Stadium concerts. The stores hastily hired former employees for around-the-clock frying and assigned their marketing director, Abby Meyer, to help in the packaging department. “It hasn’t really died since then,” Meyer says.

Unlike other U.S. cities on last summer’s Eras tour, Kansas City’s Swiftie boom continues, thanks to the singer’s high-profile presence in the city this fall with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the NFL’s Chiefs. And Donutology isn’t the only one cashing in on the buzz: Local businesses such as clothing shops Westside Storey and Made In KC and restaurants Piropos and Prime Social have significantly boosted their sales, social-media views and website traffic over the past few months.

“We can’t attach a number to it,” says Tim Cowden, president/CEO of the Kansas City Area Development Council. “It’s an incredible opportunity that she is providing our region.”

According to the city’s Economic Development Council, Eras tickets across the United States sold at an average price of $1,200, so the Kansas City shows generated $88.8 million in revenue. Additionally, Swifties bought $1,300 to $1,500 worth of meals, merch and other goods throughout the tour, and for Kansas City, that amounted to an overall financial impact of $185 million to $200 million. Then, after Swift’s widely viewed appearance last Sunday in a vintage Chiefs sweatshirt during the team’s game against the Green Bay Packers, Westside Storey, which sold her the item, landed an unprecedented 100 online orders in the two or three days after the game, according to the store’s owner, Chris Harrington.

“It’s quite insane,” says Harrington. “It’s just driven traffic like we’ve never had before. We’re waiting to see when it ends.”

Piropos, the Argentine restaurant where Swift and Kelce had a Kansas City dinner date in late October, reports a similarly massive word-of-mouth reaction. “We didn’t put up any sign. People just called us,” says Cristina Worden, the restaurant’s owner. “We got more reservations, we have more commentary. It’s been great for every business.”The Eras-related sales spike in Kansas City took Keith Bradley, co-owner of the 11-store gift-and-apparel chain Made In KC, by surprise. Ticketholders streamed into town, buying apparel, jewelry, candles and hats, and the stores scrambled to adapt by launching Swift-themed drinks and friendship bracelets. Nearly three months later, when Swift attended her first Chiefs game, “it felt like that was a new wave,” Bradley says, adding that his shops’ most popular holiday-season products are “anything Taylor and Travis,” such as candles and T-shirts.

The Swift-Kelce romance is a feel-good, fast-moving story and a “buzzworthy partnership,” as Katie Essing, a University of Missouri assistant teaching professor of marketing, describes it — which allows brands to attach themselves for exposure without fearing backlash or consequences. After Swift publicly ate chicken fingers with ketchup and what appeared to be ranch dressing at a Chiefs game in late September, KFC referred to Swift on social media as its “Ranch Queen” and Heinz launched a new flavor called Ketchup and Seemingly Ranch. “Brands having anything to do with ranch could jump on social media,” Essing says. “And that’s what we see happening with the brands in the Kansas City area with this relationship.”

The Eras Tour was so huge — grossing $900 million plus, with 63,000 ticket sales per show, or 3.3 million overall, according to Billboard estimates — that officials and businesses in host cities had to be asleep to not take advantage of the marketing opportunities. Tampa named Swift “honorary mayor”; Las Vegas lit up its Gateway Arches in colors representing all of her albums; and Seattle’s Japonessa Sushi Cocini racked up $10,000 in sales of “Reputation” sushi rolls and cocktails packed with glitter. But only Kansas City has extended its Swiftie effect beyond Eras.

Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas says the NFL Draft in April, which reportedly drew 312,000 attendees and generated $164.3 million, led to “flack” from some local businesses. (Owners complained about street closures, excessive traffic and high parking costs that kept regular customers away.) “Taylor Swift was the opposite — for almost no municipal investment, we’re getting a heck of an investment,” he tells Billboard. “Any mayor would love to have Taylor Swift just start randomly coming to their city. This is great for our economy. It’s great for our culture. It’s great for letting people know we have this dynamic city. Life kind of sucks, so it’s nice to just see two happy people enjoying life.”

Taylor Swift is no stranger to the charms of Great Britain, as made evident in her vast real estate portfolio. When the billionaire was living with her previous boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, Swift was renting a gorgeous townhouse in the Primrose Hill neighborhood of London for the two of them to share. While that relationship has ended—and her heart is now with Travis Kelce in Kansas City, Missouri—Swift’s love affair with the capital of the United Kingdom is alive and well. According to The Sun, the singer-songwriter has reportedly purchased a mansion in London for £10 million, which is roughly $12.8 million, give or take a few bands.

Though no photos have been released of Swift’s new estate, apparently the star is planning on using the property as her home base across the pond and is sparing no expense to get the home looking how she wants. The private estate was previously owned by a politician—though it’s unclear who—and it comes with a swimming pool and a personal orangery. (Yes, an orangery.)

The report of this purchase came about on December 9, and Swift has reportedly jumped right into the renovation process. “She loves the culture and vibe of the city, and is particularly at home in North London, so this estate makes perfect sense,” a source told The Sun. If Swift’s past relationships with fellow Brits Harry Styles and Calvin Harris, which occurred before her six years with Alwyn, weren’t enough to recognize that the artist has been in love with London for the past few years, her song “London Boy” serves as “a love ­letter to the city,” said the source. It’s not shocking that Swift would want to set down roots in a place she adores.

Maybe it was Kelce’s recent real estate purchase that inspired Swift to make another of her own. While we can assume that Swift is renovating this estate exactly to her liking, we can’t help but wonder if Kelce will have an opinion about the singer’s newest pad in England’s capital. Maybe then we can get “London Boy (Travis’s Version).”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are taking their relationship to the next level as the couple reportedly plan to spend the holidays together.

 

The pop star, 34, who has already attended several of the Kansas City Chiefs star’s games, appears set to cheer him on across the festive period with Kelce, also 34, scheduled to play on both Christmas Day and New Years Eve.

With her NFL beau set to work both holidays, a source told Page Six that Swift will ‘for sure be at the games.’

Kelce and the Chiefs are set to host the Las Vegas Raiders on December 25 at 1pm ET, before taking on the Cincinnati Bengals a week later on December 31 at 4.25pm ET at Arrowhead Stadium again.

While Swift will reportedly be in Kansas City to support the tight end in the run up to the playoffs, it is unclear if the 12-time Grammy Award winner will jet back to Tennessee to spend time with her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, in between games.

Kelce revealed his family’s plans for the holidays on Monday with both he and Eagles star brother Jason scheduled to suit up on Christmas Day.

Jason and the Eagles will take on the New York Giants just hours after the Chiefs kick off.

With both Kelce brothers scheduled to take the field in their divisional matchups, Travis revealed that their Christmas plans will be postponed to a later date.

‘My brother sent me a text and said he’s going to be celebrating afterwards,’ Travis told People as he also confirmed his own plans to celebrate after or the next day as well.

The Kelces’ mom, Donna, regularly attends her sons’ games and has even been known to squeeze in two on the same day.

But with the Chiefs kicking off at 1pm and the Eagles only a few hours later at 4.30pm, it is unlikely the Kelces will be able to make Christmas Day a family affair for Donna.

Despite having to play on the holiday, Travis still insisted that Christmas Day as going to be a ‘fun one’.

She could be seen intently viewing the game from a VIP box at the venue, and donned a gray Chiefs sweatshirt as well as a handmade, crochet beanie that was gifted to her by a fan.

Towards the bottom of the hat, her beau’s jersey number 87 could be seen stitched in black.

The Grammy winner had also been accompanied by her father, Scott, who sported a red and black-colored Chiefs sweater, despite being a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Brittany Mahomes – the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes – was also seen near the Love Story singer for portions of the game, as well as stylist Ashley Avignone and Alana Haim.

However, Miles Teller’s wife, Keleigh Sperry, took to Instagram to reveal that she had been the one behind the special present.

Along with spending time with the NFL star during the holidays, Taylor is slated to resume her Eras Tour for international dates beginning in February 2024. She will make stops in various countries, including Japan, France and also Germany.

Kansas City Chiefs rookie Rashee Rice recently opened up about teammate Travis Kelce’s high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift, saying that her presence has been a positive thing for the team’s popularity with fans.

 

The reigning Super Bowl champions are certainly not lacking in that department, but Swifts’ presence at NFL games has undeniably taken the fandom to another level.

“I’m happy for Trav. She’s real good [with supporting] the team and she brought a lot more fans to the team too,” Rice said during a recent appearance on the “Airing It Out podcast” with former NFL player, TJ Houshmandzadeh.

Rice, who was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, said he has been around the international pop sensation during his downtime with Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“I’ve seen her, but I didn’t go up to her like ‘Can I get a picture?’ or nothing like that.”

“You know, those guys like Trav, Pat – those guys invite us out because they know that we’re the only guys that see them every day and see them as for who they really are, not just like, ‘Bro you’re a superstar football player!’ Like nah, it’s just Pat, it’s just Trav,” he continued.

The time spent bonding off the field is certainly translating to chemistry on the field between Rice and Mahomes.

Rice has hauled in 68 catches for 754 yards and seven touchdowns through Week 15. His last touchdown in Sunday’s win over the New England Patriots set a new franchise record for the most receiving touchdowns by a rookie.

“You know, his game just keeps going up, man,” Kelce said of Rice. “I’m proud of the way he’s been able to handle the ups and downs of the season. Right now, he’s playing great ball.”

Rice has slowly emerged as one of Mahomes’ favorite targets – a bright spot for the Chiefs’ offense. He has played well over 85% of snaps in their last two games.

Patrick Mahomes is singing Taylor Swift’s praises! During an interview on CBS Mornings, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback reflected on his teammate, Travis Kelce’s, relationship with the pop star.

“At first, I feel like everybody kind of stayed away, just let him do what he was doing. And then he started bringing Taylor around and he realized how cool of a person she was, and she is,” Mahomes said. “For us, there were a couple of jokes here and there at the beginning, but now she’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom now. She’s part of the team.”

 

As for his pal, Kelce, Mahomes said, “He’s lucky enough to be with a great girl and a great woman.”

Mahomes also spoke about Swift’s budding friendship with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, noting, “It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany and they’ve built a friendship as well.”

“It’s been cool to kind of interact with her… She’s top tier at her profession, [so we’re able to] see how she drives and she becomes that. It’s really cool to hear about it and see,” he said of Swift. “Now I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis’ eyes, so it’s really cool.”

At the end of the day, Mahomes said, “I’m glad that she’s the person that she is. That’s why I think her and Travis match so well.”

Mahomes isn’t the only Chiefs player to express his support for Kelce’s romance. Rashee Rice recently appeared on Fubo Sports’ Airing It Out podcast and said, “I’m happy for Trav. She’s real good with support with the team. And she brought a lot more fans to the team, too.”

Kelce himself hasn’t been shy about his appreciation for his girlfriend. During the most recent episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce marveled at New England Patriots fans’ reaction to Swift when she stepped out to support the Chiefs as the two teams faced off.

“I mean, you don’t see an entire home team fanbase go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team’s colors,” he said. “Just shows you how amazing that girl is. They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen, yes.”

“There might have been a few Brads and Chads that were booing, but for the most part everybody was screaming their f**king tails off for her,” he added. “I was trying to keep it cool. I was like, ‘Don’t show your cards. Don’t show your cards.’”

‘Love this ring I had made for my friend, she’s bejeweled,’ the Californian-born influencer wrote on her Instagram Story. ‘Love you, T!’

Sperry also shared a video of Swift marveling over the gems as the singer raved: ‘This is unreal, Keleigh! Opal and blue topazes, wow!’

‘This is, like a present for Elizabeth Taylor, not me,’ Swift gushed, clearly taken aback by Sperry’s thoughtfulness.

Her post comes after the Taylor Swift fan account, Swiftieinkc, theorized the ring was from the 12-time Grammy winner’s other half, 34.

Surprisingly, Sperry ‘liked’ the video, a move which only strengthened the theory.

The video also contained a photo of Keleigh and her husband seemingly admiring Taylor’s new ring while out in New York on her birthday.

‘It looks like Taylor is showing off that specific ring to Keleigh and Miles Teller, who are also rumored to be the potential Cupid matchmakers of Taylor and Travis,’ the TikToker said of the photo of Taylor, Keleigh and Miles.

Describing her interpretation of the three looking at Taylor’s hand, she added: ‘This to me is giving gift, it’s giving look what he got me, it’s giving look how beautiful this custom piece is.’

The TikToker also explained the significance behind the opal and topaz stones – opal is Kelce’s birthstone, while topaz is Taylor’s.

Taylor has also previously said opal is her ‘favorite stone’, revealing how it was a source of comfort when she was in high school.

‘My favorite stone is an opal because when I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry. I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better. We never bought them, just looked,’ she told Us Weekly back in 2017.

Swifitieinkc later revealed Keleigh ‘liked’ the ring video in a subsequent clip, and fans lit up in the comments section.

‘This girl keeps confirming stuff just from liking these post and im here for it,’ one fan commented.

Another sensed the ‘like’ was confirmation of the stones on the ring: ‘I think this is confirmation of the stones, at the very least.’

Travis, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, was not present at Taylor’s birthday celebrations in New York, with People reporting he was in Kansas City for practice.

Taylor was back in the stands on Sunday, attending his game in person. She even wore a custom-made, crocheted beanie with his jersey number on it.

On Tuesday, a source told The Messenger that an engagement is not planned for the pair’s near future.

‘There are no plans for an engagement anytime soon. There is no engagement at this time,’ the insider told the outlet.

The couple are set to spend the holidays together with Swift expected to be watching on at both Chiefs games on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

The high-profile pair have had more time together in recent weeks with Swift rounding off her touring for the year last month with a string of shows in South America.

But next year, she has a relentless touring schedule as she takes her wildly successful Eras Tour around the globe – with dates in Japan, Australia, Singapore and a summer tour across Europe.

If the Chiefs make the Super Bowl, in Vegas on February 11, Swift has time to make it despite playing in Japan in the week before. Her final Tokyo date is on February 10 but the time difference – and her access to a private jet – means she could easily make the showpiece event of the football season.
