Taylor Swift‘s father Scott treated some lucky fans to $2,000 VIP wristbands on the first night of the Australian leg of her Eras tour on Friday.

The global megastar, 34, stormed the Melbourne Cricket Ground, performing to a whopping 96,000 Swifties.

Eager fans arrived hours ahead of the concert in a bid to avoid the queues.

Scott surprised some by upgrading their tickets to $2,000 wristbands.

The heartwarming act of kindness was shared on Instagram by 3AW presenter Jacqui Felgate, who posted a screenshot of a message from an unidentified person detailing the exchange.

3AW presenter Jacqui Felgate revealed that Taylor’s father Scott upgraded fans’ tickets who were in ‘cheap, restricted seats’

The message explained how a mother and daughter had secured last-minute restricted view seats, but were handed VIP wristbands worth $2,000 by Taylor’s father after arriving at the MCG.

Taylor’s doting father Scott was said to have taken to the crowds to hand out the much-sought-after wristbands, with fans gushing over his incredible kindness.

The message detailed: ‘A good news story out of the MCG. My friend and her daughter had the cheap restricted seats from yesterday’s release and rocked up as soon as the gates opened.

‘Sat down and Taylor Swift’s dad went around and handed them wristbands and entry into the VIP section — apparently about $2000 in total value.

‘Seriously lucky and how generous and kind is Papa Swift!!!

The global megastar, 34, stormed the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the biggest show of her career as she performed to a whopping 86,000 Swifties to kick off her tour Down Under

Fans were quick to take to the comments section to share their disbelief over the extraordinary tale, which comes after Swifties were left desperately trying to get their hands on last-minute tickets in recent days.

They gushed: ‘Proud parents doing it right’; ‘Papa Swift is the best’; ‘How good are they. Taylor & her parents appreciate the fans;’

‘Wow, wow, wow – just fabulous’; ‘This is the best feel good story’; ‘He seems like the best guy, imagine being able to do this for people!!’

Mieka Pokarier, 16, died when the SUV she was travelling in with her mother and sister from the Gold Coast in Queensland to Melbourne collided with a semi-trailer near Dubbo.

The crash on Dunedoo Road at Ballimore on Thursday about 6pm also left her younger sister Freya Pokarier, 10, in a critical condition and she was airlifted to Westmead Hospital.

Mieka was understood to have been sitting in the front passenger seat when the crash occurred.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but the teenager could not be saved.

On Saturday Mieka and Freya’s father, Peter Pokarier, shared his grief on Facebook.

‘That’s my baby that died,’ he said.

The 10-year-old girl is fighting for her life and is understood to be in a coma with brain injuries.  She also suffered a broken pelvis and a broken leg.

The driver of the semi-trailer had minor injuries and was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition.

The mother of the two girls who was driving the SUV sustained several injuries following the crash and was also taken to Dubbo Hospital.

Images from the scene in the aftermath of the crash show plumes of thick, black smoke rising into the sky.

The Gold Coast-based family were heading down to Melbourne ahead of Taylor’s first sold-out concert at the MCG.

Taylor had kicked off the Australian leg of her Eras tour in Melbourne on Friday night with around 96,000 fans in attendance – the biggest concert of her career.

The godmother of the two girls Karleigh Fox said the two girls were very much looking forward to attending the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s concert.

‘This was supposed to be a road-trip of a lifetime with them going to concerts in both Melbourne and Sydney,’ she told the Courier Mail.

A GoFundMe page was set up on Friday to arrange funds for the family, with almost $12,000 raised so far with a target of $20,000.

The teenager died on Thursday when the SUV she was travelling in with her mother and sister from the Gold Coast in Queensland to Melbourne collided with a semi-trailer near Dubbo

‘The family have all had to cease work to fly down and I’m trying to get a flight to support the mum as she’s alone in Dubbo until we can get her to Sydney,’ Ms Fox said.

‘Funds will be used to function in this challenging time.’

NSW Police said in a statement that a crime scene was set up as officers continue to investigate the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

  • Taylor Swift Celebrates ‘Unforgettable’ Eras Tour Shows in Melbourne: Audience Was on ‘Another LEVEL’

Taylor Swift Celebrates ‘Unforgettable’ Eras Tour Shows in Melbourne: Audience Was on ‘Another LEVEL’

Soon after finishing her series of concerts in Melbourne, Australia, as part of her international Eras Tour, Taylor Swift shared a sweet message to her fans talking about the experience.

Taking to X, Swift began by saying, “Melbourne, what do I even say to you after over 288,000 of you came and danced with us in the last 3 nights ??! That was unforgettable.”

“You were on an another LEVEL. Thank you for the memories. I’ll revisit the ones from this weekend often,” she concluded, saying goodbye to Melbourne before her next stop in Sydney.

“i absolutely adore how much gratitude she expresses after every show, and that she’s just as obsessed with the memories of us as we are of her 🫶,” wrote one Swiftie in response to the “Forever & Always” singer’s note.

Another wrote, “Undoubtedly the best weekend of my entire life by far… I cannot believe it was real & I cannot believe it’s over 🥺.”

Along with some photos from the concerts, Swift included a video of herself talking to the crowd about her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, while sitting at her piano on stage. She said that she thought that “more than any of my albums that I’ve ever made, I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me.”

While fans have a little while left to wait before The Tortured Poets Department comes out on April 19, there is sure to be plenty of Swift content as she continues her record-breaking tour.

She has four shows in Sydney next, starting on Feb. 23, followed by Singapore, before she has another short break in April. After that, Swift picks back up again in May with the European leg of the Eras Tour, starting in France.

  • Taylor Swift Alters Long-Standing ‘Rule’ on the Eras Tour During Final Melbourne Concert

Taylor Swift Alters Long-Standing ‘Rule’ on the Eras Tour During Final Melbourne Concert

Taylor Swift is officially scrapping a long-standing Eras Tour rule—one that she herself established in the first place.

Swifties whose concert date has yet to arrive can breathe a sigh of relief if they’ve already seen their favorite song played during the acoustic set on a glitchy TikTok livestream because the “Dear Reader” songstress is removing her previously imposed limits on repeating “surprise songs”—otherwise known as the tracks that are not on the permanent setlist.

In a video uploaded to TikTok, Swift explained to her final crowd in Melbourne, Australia, that she first instituted the rule to “challenge” herself “to really get to all of the ones that I just don’t naturally gravitate towards.”

While she hasn’t played her entire discography across the tour, she has made quite a dent in it—a feat she says she’s “really proud about having done.”

But as the second year of the tour ramps up, she’s looking to become “as creative as possible with the acoustic set”—as proven in the three-song mashup she performed the prior night. “I don’t want to limit anything. I don’t want to just say, ‘Oh, I played this song before, I can’t play it again.’ So from now on…I don’t want to take any paint colors out of the paint box of colors, I don’t want to take any tools out of the toolbox,” she said, struggling to find the metaphor she was looking for.

All that to say, “I want to be able to play songs more than once if I feel like it and I want to be able to make changes to songs…”

Previously, Swift would only repeat songs from her latest album, Midnights, or if she happened to mess them up—like when she performed “Clean” in the wrong key—which left some fans joking that they’d lost whenever their favorite songs were played.

As a result, it’s safe to say that fans aren’t upset but the sudden change in procedure.

“wait she’s so real for this yess mother before my show too oh you did this for me,” one wrote in response.

“She has no more rules, it’s just pure chaos from now on,” another joked.

Taylor Swift Sydney: Every Aussie attending pop star’s show is told to perform a heartwarming act

Fans attending one of Taylor Swift‘s Sydney shows are being encouraged to wear special friendship bracelets in honour of a fellow-Swiftie who died on the way to her Melbourne concert.

Mieka Pokarier, 16, was killed when the SUV she was traveling in with her mother and sister collided with a semi-trailer near Dubbo, in central-west NSW at about 6pm on Thursday.

The family had been driving to Melbourne from the Gold Coast on the ‘trip of a lifetime’ to see Swift perform the Australian leg of her Eras tour.

Mieka’s younger sister Freya, 10, was seriously injured in the crash on Dunedoo Road, at Ballimore.

She was airlifted to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a coma with brain injuries, a damaged pelvis and a broken leg.

Their mum, Kim Litchfield, was also injured and taken to Dubbo Hospital, and has since travelled to Sydney to be by her youngest daughter’s bedside. Her husband and another one of Mieka’s siblings are currently keeping a vigil.

Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, swap self-made bracelets with each other during concerts. They are being urged to make and share them in honour of Mieka, with her name on them.

In a post made to Taylor Swift Eras Tour Facebook page a fan called on Swifties to wear a friendship bracelet with Mieka’s name.

‘To honour them the family is asking everyone to wear a friendship bracelet with her name so its like she’s still there. Mieka is her name.’

‘I will also be handing out bracelets with her name in her honour as well.’

On Monday the children’s godmother Karleigh Fox, who organised a GoFundMe appeal, said Freya remains in a critical yet stable condition.

‘Yes there is the potential for this to be life threatening, BUT there is also the potential for miracles and recovery!’

Both sisters were enrolled in the Gold Coast Youth Theatre Academy.

Ms Fox paid tribute to Mieka describing her as ‘smart and creative’ whose life was cut short too soon.

‘She’s been a Taylor Swift fan for over 10 years, and she loved maths, she loved pottery, she was always making people things with pottery and going to classes,’ she wrote.

Travis Kelce Speaks On His ‘Special’ Relationship With Taylor Swift

One of the biggest topics of 2023 and the start of 2024 has been the romance between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift — with some even being obsessed. Now, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is speaking out on his “special” relationship with the pop star.

Travis and Taylor have been dating since last summer, but it wasn’t until September 2023 that they went public. The two have seemingly been going strong ever since, with the ‘Red’ singer showing up to support her boyfriend at the Super Bowl despite being in Tokyo just hours before.

The media and the public have been “obsessed” with the two — and Travis seemingly understands why.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have taken the world by storm — and the Chiefs star knows.

“I’m very aware,” he said of the “impact” his relationship with Taylor Swift has had on the NFL. As you know, after Taylor showed up at the Chiefs game in September, many more women have tuned into the sport, which has had a great effect on its popularity.

“Obviously, this is mostly because Taylor’s in my life now and we got her [to be] part of Chiefs Kingdom,” he said in a resurfaced interview with sports reporter Laura Okmin, “And sure enough, that brought an entire entourage of human beings who just love to support her and love to support everything that she’s about.”

Lauren then told the NFL star that “love looks good” on him, to which he responded with, “I appreciate that, thank you.”

Before the big game, Travis Kelce spoke on his prep for the Super Bowl, making it clear that he has always been focused on football despite his new, and very public, relationship with Taylor Swift.

“Well, the biggest thing for me is … I never want the people in the building to ever have the idea that I’m not focused on the game, I’m not focused on being my best at football and not having all my focus and all my attention to my craft and making sure that I’m accountable in the biggest game of our lives,” Kelce said of the Super Bowl at the time.

“With that being said, I do, you know, have a guarded approach to it,” he added. “But at the same time, I know what me and Taylor have is special, so I get [the interest].”

As Taylor has shown up at multiple NFL games this past season, many are wondering if Travis will return the favor to join the pop icon on her international Eras Tour — and it seems like he will!

On his podcast, which he hosts with brother Jason Kelce, he hinted he would “venture to an island real soon,” which many think will be Australia as Taylor is currently putting on shows down under.

If anything is clear, the two are living out their ‘Love Story’ and many are excited to follow along even after the NFL season came to an end.

Taylor Swift‘s secret way of getting to the stage to perform during her Australian tour has been revealed.

One fan posted a video to Instagram from Swift’s Melbourne show on Friday, which shows the pop star getting pushed to the side of the stage in a cleaning cart.

After pulling up near a black tent, the Shake It Off hitmaker can be seen exiting the cart before walking up a set of stairs in her costume.

‘Yep, it’s true… Taylor getting out of the ‘Cleaning Cart’ night 1 in Melbourne!’ the fan captioned the post.

Swift was also seen emerging from a large cart during her concert in Texas, with one concertgoer sharing footage of the moment she was pushed around to TikTok.

Taylor Swift ‘s secret way of getting to the stage to perform during her Australian tour has been revealed

The pop star hit the stage just after 7pm on Friday night for the first show of her Australian leg of the tour to a staggering crowd of 96,000 concert goers.

She jetted into Sydney on Monday ahead of her four-day concert run at Accor Stadium this week.

But Swifties are now worried the megastar may not even make it on stage thanks to the Harbour City’s extreme weather.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for heavy rainfall, damaging winds and large hailstones for much of NSW on Friday and Saturday, placing a question mark above Swift’s first and second Sydney shows.

According to the Accor Stadium website, ‘events will go ahead rain, hail or shine’ unless the safety of patrons and the artist is at risk.

This leaves the potential for organisers to make last minute adjustments to Swift’s shows depending on the severity of the weather.

One fan posted a video to Instagram from Swift’s Melbourne show on Friday, which shows the pop star getting pushed to the side of the stage in a cleaning cart

Concerned fans have taken to Reddit to speculate on whether these shows will be axed or postponed, with one writing: ‘Since it’s at Accor stadium and they have a rain policy, any chance it get’s cancelled if the weather’s bad.’

‘I can see a LOT of people freaking the f**k out if they do,’ the user added.

‘I’d say the only cancellation reason would be lightning. No one wants TayTay to die during an outdoor concert in Sydney!’ another wrote.

‘It’s at Accor, so it’s not fully under cover. She’s performed in the rain before so it would have to be very heavy rain and lightning for her to postpone. She’s only postponed two shows during this tour, I believe,’ someone else surmised.

There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young,” she wrote on Instagram following her Eras Tour concert in Rio de Janeiro.

“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil,” she continued.

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, additionally mourned the loss of the Swift fan and announced new measures that will be enforced at the Nilton Santos Stadium for her remaining concerts.

“The loss of a young woman’s life yesterday at the show in Engenhão is unacceptable. Obviously, we are still finding out more details about the circumstances of what happened,” the mayor began on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“In any case, I have already ordered the municipality’s Executive Chief of Operations to demand action with the production of the show.”

Swift stopped her concert to pass out water due to sweltering conditions in Brazil. Fans are seen chanting, “Water” in a video posted online.

“There’s people that need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back,” she said as she pointed to a floor section of the crowd. “So whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a signal that you know where they are?”

The tragic events unfolded amid a dangerous heat wave that swept across Rio de Janeiro.

Most Brazilian states face “great danger” from the heat, according to the National Institute of Meteorology. The institution issued a red alert for the center-west, southeast and parts of the north warning of “a high probability of major damage and accidents, with risks to physical integrity or even human life.”

The heat index — a combination of temperature and humidity — hit 58.5 degrees Celsius (137 Fahrenheit) earlier this week, the highest index ever recorded there.

  • Here’s What Celebs Have Been Saying About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Relationship

Here’s What Celebs Have Been Saying About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Relationship

From Kelly Clarkson to Morgan Freeman, see what stars had to say about the singer’s romance with the Kansas Chiefs tight end.

Love is in the air for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce — and the internet is completely obsessed with their blossoming romance. But how does Hollywood feel about the relationship that’s been taking over Sunday Night Football? It turns out that most celebrities love Taylor and Travis’ relationship as much as everyone else…as long as it doesn’t take up too much screen time during Chiefs games!

Here’s what these celebrities had to say about Taylor and Travis…

    1. Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson is a big football fan, so when Taylor first made headlines by attending one of Travis’ games, the talk show host had some mixed feelings. During an episode of her show, Kelly admitted that the focus on Taylor was taking away from game time.

“It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now. It’s like you’re watching Housewives while you’re watching [football]. They’re just talking about gossip things, and you’re like, ‘So what about the play?’” Kelly said.

When she received some backlash for “bashing” Taylor and Travis’ relationship, she clarified things on Instagram, saying that her comments had been misconstrued.

“Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone’s romance. I am pro romance. Yay romance. Did y’all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request,” Kelly wrote.

    2. Jessie James Decker

Jessie James Decker has some experience when it comes to dating an NFL player, considering she’s married to former football player Eric Decker. Jessie says she’s in full support of Taylor and Travis’ relationship and even thinks Taylor should have done it sooner!

“I love it. It totally makes sense. She should have dated an athlete a long time ago. It worked for me. I love it,” Jessie said on TalkShopLive.

She added a note to fans, sharing that even if Taylor’s not at a game, there’s no reason to worry that there’s trouble in paradise. “You can’t make it to every game. I didn’t go to every game,” she said. “There were some times where it was too late, or in a different city so I stayed at home in my jammies and screamed from my couch.”

    3. Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer made her thoughts about Travis and Taylor’s relationship clear by way of some sweet comments on an Instagram post. When Us Weekly shared photos of Taylor at one of Travis’ games, Jana chimed in by writing, “I’m so here for this,” and later adding, “Best story run ever.”

    4. Gayle King

Gayle King is in full support of Travis and Taylor’s relationship and thinks that things between them are completely authentic. When asked about the couple’s romance, Gayle said she was “here for” it.

“People say, ‘Oh, it’s a publicity stunt!’ I don’t think that. I think they’re two young people who are attracted to each other and I think they’re trying to figure it out, whether it goes somewhere [or] doesn’t go somewhere,” Gayle told Entertainment Tonight.

She continued, “I think it’s just really great [that] they can do this and have fun. I say have fun and enjoy it for as long as it lasts, and if it turns into something big, I think that would be terrific. I love the two of them together, I think it’s a lot of fun to watch.”

    5. Katy Perry

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift may have had a rocky past, but they’ve put that all behind them. Katy showed her support for Taylor and Travis’ relationship by way of a comment on a series of photos of the couple heading to a Saturday Night Live afterparty.

“I ship,” she commented on an Instagram post from Vogue that featured the pics.

    6. Hilarie Burton Morgan

Taylor and Travis have the full support of Hilarie Burton Morgan, who posted on social media that she thought it was great that Taylor was attending Travis’ games — and was already “deeply invested” in their romance.

“Pro tip … you deserve someone who invites you to work with them. It shows: 1. They think you’re so awesome & they want everyone from buddies to the boss to meet you. 2. They work hard & they’re GOOD, & they want you to see that. Flew to see [husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan] on a set 14 yrs ago,” Hilarie posted on X.

    7. Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg admits she’s a fan of Taylor, but she’s not sure she understands all the media attention surrounding their relationship. When the couple’s romance was discussed on The View, Whoopi said that she didn’t really care what was going on in their personal lives.

“Why is this so extraordinary to people?” she said on the show. “I love Taylor. She’s great. I’m watching football whether she’s participating or not.”

    8. Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde had some interesting thoughts about Taylor and Travis’ relationship — and the impact that Taylor’s love life has on the public. Olivia took to her Instagram story to share a post on X that read, “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist,” seemingly implying that she wished Taylor could use her fame to draw attention to something more important.

After facing backlash for the post, Olivia said that she only had good intentions with her post, and meant to highlight how people focus on “stupid things” more than important issues.

“I meant no harm,” she told a reporter, according to the Daily Mail. “It’s obviously a comment on how much attention gets paid to stupid things.”

    9. Rob Gronkowski

Former football player Rob Gronkowski had nothing but great things to say about Taylor and Travis’ relationship. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rob weighed in, sharing that he felt Travis deserved the best.

“You know, it’s wonderful, he deserves it all. He’s had seven 1,000-yard seasons in a row. Wide receivers barely have seven 1,000-yard seasons in a row. He deserves every commercial, and he’s a good-looking man, so he deserves any lady that he wants to get. And he can move. Like I said, I had a dance-off with him, and his hips can groove, so it’s great to see him doing his thing on and off the field. He deserves it all,” Rob shared.

    10. Jason Sudeikis

Jason Sudeikis is a major fan of the Chiefs, and Travis seems to have his full support in dating Taylor Swift. Early in Travis and Taylor’s romance, Jason “liked” a tweet posted by the NFL about Taylor attending a Chief’s game.

“Look who hit the Sunday Matinee,” the NFL account posted on X. “Welcome to #ChiefsKingdom, @taylorswift13!”

    11. Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is a big fan of the Chiefs but he doesn’t quite keep up with the personal lives of the team’s players. When he was recently asked what he thought about Travis and Taylor, he admitted that he didn’t think about them at all!

“Are you winning? Great, OK. Now, it’s great to watch [quarterback Patrick Mahomes] run. He’s got a rifle for an arm, so that’s all good,” Morgan said during an interview with CBS Mornings. “So that’s what I’m interested in.”

Although The Eras Tour has not ended yet, Taylor Swift has quickly brought the tour’s music documentary to theaters around the world. The effect is extremely explosive! Taylor Swift’s fan club, called Swifties, meet up at the cinema to relive memorable moments with their idol, turning the cinema into a mini concert as exciting as the actual concert. The “huge” revenue of this series has continued to attract the attention of the media and social networks to the blonde singer’s tour.

Furthermore, when going to see music, fans compete to dress as closely as possible to their idols. As a result, when Taylor Swift was spotted wearing Versace’s Versace Greca Pattern Necklace, the Swifties community also rushed to buy this jewelry, leading to the product being sold out.

In November 2023, The Eras Tour tour brings great performances to fans in Buenos Aires – the capital of Argentina.

During the performance of the legendary song Lover, the female singer took the stage wearing a super short bodysuit filled with sparkling sequins from the fashion house Versace, embodying a wild but sweet lover. In particular, fans have discovered that Taylor Swift wears a Greca Pattern necklace in sync with her Versace outfit.

The necklace intertwines Versace’s Greca motifs, crystals, and latches with the Versace logo – the snake-headed goddess Medusa in Greek mythology. Coincidentally, Taylor Swift is also known by the nickname “king snake”. This coincidence attracts the attention of fans, making them want to own the same jewelry as their idol.

Greca Pattern Necklace is Versace’s way of approaching the chain necklace design in its own style. The usual links are replaced by Greca motifs, a motif that has been associated with Versace since 1988. Strong geometric Greca patterned links contrast with sweet colored crystals. The lobster clasp is latched with the Medusa snake head logo.

Idol cosplay culture with “cheap moments”Immediately after finding the necklace worn by the idol during the concert, fans immediately searched for it. Although this jewelry model is worth up to 800 USD (about more than 18 million VND), this price does not prevent Swifties fans from opening their wallets to own it to have a moment of matching outfits with their idols. As a result, Versace sold out of the yellow model worn by Taylor Swift; Currently only the silver version remains.

This is just one example in a series of examples showing how Swifties fans want to dress like their idols when going to shows. One fan shared: “As soon as I got the ticket in hand, I immediately thought about what outfit to wear to the concert.”

During the recent series of concerts, many fans recreated the image of Taylor through different periods throughout her music career. The image of Taylor Swift cosplay fans stirred up the atmosphere even before the music night took place.

Buying branded items to support and look like idols is extremely popular today. From Kpop to USUK, “cheap moments” (roughly translated as suddenly dressing like an idol).

Understanding this idol culture, top fashion houses are now open to cooperating with stars, then quickly spreading images of those stars using their products on social networks. The consensus between famous artists and the fashion industry is a strong model of interaction between artists and brands.
