Taylor Swift made a panicked phone call in the early hours of the morning to her boyfriend Travis Kelce after she was left ‘shaken up’ by the horror shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs parade, just hours after she touched down in Australia.

 

The pop superstar, 34, who is currently on the Australian leg of her Eras World Tour, was on the phone to the tight end at around 6am Melbourne time, just minutes after gunfire broke out on the west side of Union Station at 1:48 pm local time on Wednesday.

She then called her new friend Brittany Mahomes, whose husband Patrick is Travis’ teammate, with the pair taking comfort in one another after the incident which claimed one life.

‘Taylor was extremely worried when she heard of the shooting, as expected,’ a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. ‘She got on the phone with Travis right away and was so incredibly relieved to hear his voice.

‘She spoke to Brittany too and they were shaken up by this tragedy.’

The source explained how Taylor was left ‘heartbroken’ to learn that one person had died as further information about the victims was released.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, 44, was killed when two juvenile gunmen opened fire in the crowd during a ‘personal dispute’ that escalated. Twenty-one others were injured, including nine children. Three people were detained after the incident.

Taylor made two $50,000 donations to the GoFundMe page set up for the grieving family of the Kansas City radio DJ.

‘She was heartbroken to hear of the death and she hopes her donation helps,’ the insider added.

‘She has so much love for the Kansas City community and is sending all her love and support.’

On donating the money, Taylor wrote: ‘Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift.’

Travis, 34, also tweeted, telling fans he had been left ‘heartbroken’ by the violence.

He then continued to celebrate his Super Bowl success as he enjoyed a meal at a local restaurant with his Chiefs teammates.

The three-time Super Bowl winner was pictured posing with teammate Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany in a photo obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com.

He is yet to respond to criticism of his continued celebrations which was branded a ‘red flag’ by some.

The first red flag emerged at Sunday’s Super Bowl itself, when Travis pushed his 65-year-old coach, Andy Reid, during a moment of rage during the game.

At the time, a source told DailyMail.com: ‘Honestly, Travis yelling at coach Reid like that was surprising and a little bit concerning to Taylor’s friends simply because they were not aware that he even had a side to him like that…’

The source added: ‘They understand that it’s the biggest game of the year and that there is a lot at stake – but Travis is a pro and should have handled himself with a bit more dignity than to scream at his coach like that.

‘This was his first red flag as far as Taylor’s friends are concerned and even Taylor seemed a bit surprised. Being the professional that she is, she has never flipped out on anyone like that.’

The insider explained that the outburst was made worse by the fact the singer’s entire family was there to witness it.

They continued: ‘Her family was there and all of her friends. He knew this. Travis should have been able to keep his cool better.

‘That kind of shouting would be a breaking point for some people in relationships.’

After the game, Travis told the media that his rage was down to the fact that he ‘wanted the score to be different.’

His coach later told ESPN that Travis embraced him after the victory: ‘He came over and gave me a hug, said “Sorry about that.” He just wants to be on the field and he wants to play.’

Then fans were left concerned by his drunken appearance during the Chiefs’ victory parade, shortly before the tragic shooting took place.

Meanwhile, prosecutors are still undecided on the charges against the three suspects they have in custody.

Two are juveniles who were having a ‘personal dispute’, according to police yesterday.

One, who was carrying an assault rifle, was tackled by heroic fans as he tried to flee the scene.

None have been named. The local district attorney said they intend to charge all of the suspects as adults, with the judge’s permission.

The “Lavender Haze” singer, 33, was captured on video leaving Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday night with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, also 33, by her side.

 

As the two walked together other on their way out of the building, Swift smiled briefly at the camera and appeared to say “bye.” Kelce, dressed in a patterned two-piece outfit, also shot a smile and brief nod to the camera

 

Swift was part of the crowd cheering on the Chiefs in their matchup against the Chicago Bears Sunday. She watched the on-field action from Kelce’s suite with the athlete’s mother, Donna Kelce. The pair could be seen sitting shoulder-to-shoulder and chatting and laughing together throughout the game.

 

 

The Grammy winner showed her team spirit by wearing a red-and-white Chiefs jacket, which was later tied around her waist as she left the stadium. Footage from the game, shared by Fox Sports on X, showed Swift smiling, cheering and clapping enthusiastically as she watched Kelce and his teammates. At one point, she even raised her hands in the air in excitement.

 

Swift’s stadium appearance comes just days after Kelce invited her to attend the game while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show podcast. A source told PEOPLE that once Swift heard about the invite, she didn’t let a busy schedule stop her from accepting.

“Taylor is very focused on work right now and hanging out with her girlfriends,” the source said. “Travis invited her to the game, and of course she said ‘yes.’”

 

 

“She just thought it was a fantastic way to spend Sunday,” the source added.

 

On the podcast Thursday, host Pat McAfee asked Kelce if he wanted to “expand upon” the rumors that he and Swift are dating, which is “being talked about by the whole entire world right now.”

 

Though he wouldn’t confirm at the time whether he and Swift had actually met in person, he did share that he “threw the ball in her court.”

“I’ve seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead [Stadium],” he told McAfee, as if speaking directly to the “Champagne Problems” singer. “You might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.”

 

“We’ll see what happens in the near future,” he added.

 

Melba, who celebrated her 100th birthday this year, has lived her entire life on the same block. Although she hasn’t traveled much, she’s always been curious about the world. So she created her own personal archive through newspaper clippings, complete with special files for different subjects. One of those is simply labelled, “Mahomes.”

The global megastar, 34, sent the jam-packed crowds wild when she made her grand arrival on stage for her epic three-hour setlist amid her first tour Down Under in six years.

She once again attracted a crowd of around 96,000 to the MCG for her second show, after she performed to the biggest crowd of her career on the opening night of her Australian tour.

However, her second show was shrouded in tragedy as it emerged hours before that teenage fan Mieka Pokarier, 16, was killed in a horrific highway crash on Thursday while on a family road trip to see the pop star.

Taylor put on a brave face as she returned to the stage to put on another incredible performance for the thousands of fans who had travelled miles to Melbourne for her show.

For the concert, Taylor once again sported a whole array of eye-catching outfits to encompass every one of her ‘Eras’, commemorating each of her beloved albums.

She left the crowds screaming at one point in the show as she put her own Australian twist on her smash hit song We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

The Grammy-award winning artist personalised her show for her Australian audience with the help of her backing dancer in one hysterical moment.

She was heard saying into the microphone: ‘This is exhausting, you know? Like, we are never getting back together.’

Taylor then handed the microphone over to a dancer, who said ‘no’ as ‘naur’ in a noticeably Australian twang, sending the crowds absolutely wild.

The Melbourne locals were heard erupting into deafening screams as they were thrilled by the hilarious touch, as Taylor went straight into the track’s chorus.

In keeping with her usual setlist, Taylor treated fans to two surprise songs, and picked a three-song mashup of Getaway Car, August and The Other Side of the Door, as well as This Is Me Trying, sending fans wild.

As well as performing for tens of thousands of fans inside the MCG, hundreds of ticketless fans once again stormed the stadium in a bid to listen into the show.

Despite warnings to stay home, huge crowds of Swifties who weren’t able to get their hands on tickets were seen gathering outside the venue for the epic show.

Videos shared to social media documented the chaos as massive crowds were seen singing along in unison and dancing as the MCG was completely overrun by fans.

Just hours ahead of her second concert, Taylor was spotted arriving in chauffeured FBI-style as she made her way to the stadium for sound-check.

A convoy of blacked out Land Rovers were seen driving down Brunton Ave and into the underground carpark of the venue, with one carrying the Shake It Off star.

Huge crowds were also seen descending on the MCG hours ahead of the show as they tried to beat the queues after the record-breaking first concert on Friday night.

A massive 96,000 fans descended on the MCG for Taylor’s first show, marking the biggest concert of her entire career.
Despite already having performed at huge sporting stadiums across the US, the opening night of her Australian tour broke records, as she has never performed to a crowd larger than 74,000.

Reacting to performing at her biggest show to date, Taylor told the 96,000-strong crowd on Friday: ‘This is the biggest show we’ve done on this tour or any tour I have ever done!

‘That’s the version you get of me tonight, the version that is completely star-struck by the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on Saturday night in Melbourne!’

As well as the huge crowds inside the venue, eager fans who weren’t able to get their hands on the sought-after tickets gathered outside the MCG in their masses.

Ahead of her Sydney shows next week, Venues NSW warned ticketless fanatics to stay away from Accor Stadium to prevent crowd management issues, The Daily Telegraph reported.
A spokesperson said fans who missed out on tickets should not try to ‘soak up the atmosphere’ outside, as they likely won’t hear any songs anyway.

Meanwhile, Transport NSW coordinator-general Howard Collins said Sydney was ‘preparing for the inevitable’ ahead of her Sydney shows.

‘What we found with other popular music venues where people can’t get tickets, people do just turn up to sort of soak up the atmosphere, and you can’t stop them other than to manage crowds,’ he said.

‘We are not encouraging ticketless fans to attend, but part of our contingency plan is allowing for extra people who may be travelling who haven’t got tickets.’

But despite warnings from the NSW government, businesses are said to be rolling out the welcome mat for all of Taylor’s fans regardless of whether they have tickets.

Taylor will return to the MCG for her final Melbourne show on Sunday night before heading to Accor Stadium in Sydney from February 23 to 26 for second stint of shows.

However, Taylor’s Australian Eras tour has also been hit by tragedy after it emerged on Saturday that a teenager was killed in a horrific highway crash while on a family road trip to see the pop star.

Mieka Pokarier, 16, died when the SUV she was travelling in with her mother and sister from the Gold Coast in Queensland to Melbourne collided with a semi-trailer near Dubbo.

The crash on Dunedoo Road at Ballimore on Thursday about 6pm also left her younger sister Freya Pokarier, 10, in a critical condition and she was airlifted to Westmead Hospital.

Mieka was understood to have been sitting in the front passenger seat when the crash occurred.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but the teenager could not be saved.

On Saturday Mieka and Freya’s father, Peter Pokarier, shared his grief on Facebook.

‘That’s my baby that died,’ he said.

The 10-year-old girl is fighting for her life and is understood to be in a coma with brain injuries. She also suffered a broken pelvis and a broken leg.

The driver of the semi-trailer had minor injuries and was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition.

The mother of the two girls who was driving the SUV sustained several injuries following the crash and was also taken to Dubbo Hospital.

The Gold Coast-based family were heading down to Melbourne ahead of Taylor’s first sold-out concert at the MCG.

Taylor had kicked off the Australian leg of her Eras tour in Melbourne on Friday night with around 96,000 fans in attendance – the biggest concert of her career.

The godmother of the two girls Karleigh Fox said the two girls were very much looking forward to attending the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s concert.

‘This was supposed to be a road-trip of a lifetime with them going to concerts in both Melbourne and Sydney,’ she told the Courier Mail.

A GoFundMe page was set up on Friday to arrange funds for the family, with almost $12,000 raised so far with a target of $20,000.

‘The family have all had to cease work to fly down and I’m trying to get a flight to support the mum as she’s alone in Dubbo until we can get her to Sydney,’ Ms Fox said.

‘Funds will be used to function in this challenging time.’

NSW Police said in a statement that a crime scene was set up as officers continue to investigate the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The selection of Patrick Mahomes for the NFL Pro Bowl roster has caused a stir amongst fans and analysts after one of the top quarterbacks this season was snubbed.

 

 

Mahomes guided the Kansas City Chiefs to Super Bowl 57 in 2022, but this season has been a disappointing one for the 28-year-old by his usual high standards. The Chiefs are 10-6 after a dip in form approaching the playoffs, with Mahomes’ form nosediving. Meanwhile, other quarterbacks such as Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen have been earning praise across the board.

Despite that, Allen was left out of the Pro Bowl roster in favour of Mahomes and Miami Dolphins’Tua Tagovailoa. And Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd claimed he “can’t take the Pro Bowl seriously” after he was snubbed in favour of Mahomes. “NFL does so many things right, [but] the Pro Bowl is not one of them,” he said. “Josh Allen leads the NFL with 42 touchdowns… didn’t make the Pro Bowl. If the Bills win against Miami this weekend. I think they will, they’ll be the number two seed.”

He later added: “Mahomes, having the worst year of his career, he made it too. Mahomes and Josh Allen have the same number of passing touchdowns, 27. Allen has 15 rushing touchdowns, Mahomes has zero. Josh Allen beat Mahomes head to head, has 15 more total touchdowns. The turnovers [are] fairly, the teams are both 10 and six.

 

“Mahomes made it, Allen didn’t, and I love Mahomes but the Bills offense scores 27 points per game. The Chiefs offense with the smartest offensive coach perhaps in our life, Andy Reid, scores 22. Again, I don’t know… maybe the 15 extra rushing touchdowns impacted that.” Why was Josh Allen not selected?

There are some reasons to explain why Allen was not named on the Pro Bowl roster. Despite excelling in racking up a huge number of touchdowns, he also has proved to be a risky passer of the ball with 16 interceptions – an average of one per game. He has also fumbled the ball six times this year – a career high – and has lost three of them. He’s accounting for 19 total turnovers in 16 games so far, which may suggest he is less reliable than Mahomes.
