Taylor Swift’s Eras Toυr in Singapore Expected to Boost Econoмy by Estiмated S$400 Million

The Swift effect мay be so sυpercharged that it coυld actυally nυdge υp Singapore’s GDP growth for the first qυarter of 2024, by 0.2 percentage points.

According to a <eм>Blooмberg</eм> report, econoмist Han Teng Chυa said that it was мainly sυpported by higher toυrist spending dυe to the large nυмber of overseas fans attending the concerts in Singapore.

Chυa noted that the Eras Toυr benefited Singapore’s hospitality, food and beverage, and retail activities.

Between Mar. 1 and Mar. 9, Swift played six concerts for aboυt 300,000 fans in Singapore, where 70 per cent of the concertgoers were flying in froм overseas, <eм>CNN</eм> reported.

Trip.coм’s general мanager also told <eм>CNN</eм> that inboυnd flights into Singapore rose by 186 per cent, and accoммodation bookings grew alмost foυrfold dυring Swift’s stay.

Based on a мedian estiмate in a <eм>Blooмberg</eм> sυrvey, Econoмists υpgraded their first-qυarter growth forecast for Singapore, stating that the coυntry’s Gross Doмestic Prodυct (GDP) will probably expand by 2.9 percent in the three мonths ending Mar. 31, 2024.

    Local vs foreign spending

However, it appears that the Swift Effect мay not be replicated in every leg of her toυr.

According to the <eм>Aυstralian Financial Review, </eм>qυoting KPMG chief econoмist Brendan Rynne, Swift’s Aυstralia shows is expected to add jυst A$10 мillion (S$8.8 мillion) to the national econoмy.

This is largely becaυse 98 per cent of ticket sales went to local Aυstralians, which woυld have no net econoмic effect on the qυarterly GDP.

“Technically any spend associated with these patrons is jυst a transfer froм one category of spending (or saving) to another – in this instance Tay Tay,” Rynne said.

However, if international visitors fly into Aυstralia to catch Swift in action, their spending woυld coυnt as a toυrisм export in the books

  • Breaking New: 8 prospects likely soaring up the Chiefs’ draft board after NFL Combine

Breaking New: 8 prospects likely soaring up the Chiefs’ draft board after NFL Combine

You don’t have to have a great Combine to be a great NFL player, but it can certainly help your draft stock.

    NFL Combine

Another NFL Combine is now in the books and there is lots to (over)react to. It’s worth noting that the Combine is just a chapter in the story that is a player’s draft journey, and there are countless examples of players who do and do not ever live up to their Combine results—e.g. wide receiver John Ross. You don’t have to have a great Combine to be a great NFL player, but it can certainly help your draft stock.

When it comes to whose stock is rising and falling from this year’s Scouting Combine, we will be looking at prospects who make sense for the Kansas City Chiefs. To see where each player ranks on our Chiefs-specific big board be sure to bookmark the Arrowhead Addict Big Board.

Keep in mind, we are evaluating players based on their prior evaluations, so if a player was projected as a top 10 pick but now seems like a top 20 pick, that’s hard to classify as a “faller.”

We’ll be back with those whose stock plummeted to varying degrees from their time in Indianapolis, but here are eight prospects who the Chiefs likely noticed as their stock rose.

    Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn State

Had a 4.49 second time in the 40-yard dash at  254 lbs. with excellent explosive testing too. Chop Robinson has firmly put himself back into the first-round conversation.

Braden Fiske, Interior Defensive Line, Florida State

With a 96th percentile performance in the broad jump, a 97th percentile showing in his 40-yard dash, and a 91st percentile vertical leap, Fiske was the talk of the first day of testing in Indy. He posted a higher RAS score than 2023 1st round pick Calijah Kancey.

    Tip Reiman, Tight End, Illinois

Posting the 10th-highest TE RAS score ever for a tight end is a good way to boost your draft stock. Not sure if suggesting birds aren’t real will help things, but we like him as a high-end tight end 2 or 3.

    Isaac Guerendo, Running back, Louisville

Posting the 8th highest RAS ever for a running back, Guerendo is certainly being noticed. In a weak RB class, his Combine performance coupled with his best year as a player is turning heads at the right time.

    Adonai Mitchell, Wide Receiver, Texas

Mitchell has been viewed as a fringe 1st-rounder most of this cycle, but after his elite Combine performance (97th percentile 40-yard dash, 99th percentile broad jump), he might be pushing for 4th receiver taken. He’s one of the few true “X” receivers with that type of agility.

    Troy Fautanu, Offensive tackle, Washington

That’s right: Offensive tackle. For most of this cycle, Fautanu was viewed as a guard but with his 34.5-inch arms and a 94% percentile athletic testing, he is a tackle. Given his resume and football character, this is a huge boost for him.

    Max Melton, Cornerback, Rutgers

Max Melton was viewed mostly as a fringe Day 2 or 3 prospect. Though slightly undersized, his 4.39 second time in the 40-yard dash and broad jump of 11’04” put him squarely into the Day 2 conversation. His speed and gritty play will push him up boards.

    Xavier Worthy, Wide Receiver, Texas

We knew Worthy was fast but not “fastest 40-yard dash ever” fast. Despite only being a few inches and pounds larger than Tank Dell, Worthy’s speed alone is something teams will obsess over (Including Patrick Mahomes).

  • Breaking New: Top landing spots for Chiefs’ CB L’Jarius Sneed in potential trade

Breaking New: Top landing spots for Chiefs’ CB L’Jarius Sneed in potential trade

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Kansas City Chiefs are ‘prepared’ to place the franchise tag on cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport echoed these reports on Wednesday but stated that the team hasn’t officially tagged Sneed, but is expected to before the March 5 deadline. The 27-year-old cornerback has been given permission to seek a trade.

With a Chris Jones’ extension on the horizon, Sneed’s days in Kansas City may be numbered, as the cornerback could warrant a contract north of $20 million annually.

The former fourth-round selection was a marquee contributor to a Chiefs’ team that accomplished back-to-back championships, forming one of the best secondary units in the NFL in 2023.

While Sneed’s status remains up in the air, here are a few teams that could acquire Kansas City’s star defensive back.

    Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles arguably had the worst secondary in the league this past season, and Sneed would fix those issues on the back end. Philadelphia’s late-season collapse fell on the shoulders of Philadelphia’s pass defense. The defense finished 31st in passing yards allowed, 26th in total yards allowed and 30th in points allowed, while making a midseason change at defensive coordinator.

In 2023, Sneed proved to be a lockdown corner, developing a reputation for sticky coverage and stifling opposing go-to wideouts.

Cornerbacks Darius Slay and James Bradberry are aging commodities who each saw their play drastically drop off last season. Philadelphia’s secondary cannot be anchored by two players who are over the age of 30.

The Eagles do not possess many weaknesses, but cornerback is a void that must be filled if Philadelphia wants to compete in the NFC.

Look for the Eagles to be majorly aggressive in addressing the cornerback position this offseason. Acquiring Sneed and drafting another secondary player early in the draft could do wonders for this defense, which is led by an elite pass rush.

  • Oh Really? Raiders favored to steal Chris Jones away from rival Chiefs!

Oh Really? Raiders favored to steal Chris Jones away from rival Chiefs!

In addition to helping the las Vegas pass rush, signing Chris Jones would hurt the Kansas City defense badly.

Raiders are favored to sign Chris Jones if he fails to remain with Chiefs

The Las Vegas Raiders were expected to push the Kansas City Chiefs hard in the 2023 season. However, the Raiders struggled badly in the first half of the year and fell out of contention early in the season. In an effort to mount an assault on their long-time rivals and back-to-back Super Bowl champion Chiefs, the Raiders may be able to take ace free agent pass rusher Chris Jones away from Kansas City.

Jones is one of the highest rated free agents expected to be available at the start of free agency. Teams will have the ability to sign free agents March 13, which represents the start of the NFL’s league year.

The Raiders are favored to sign Jones if he does not sign an extension with the Chiefs prior to the deadline. Las Vegas is the +400 favorite to sign Jones, according to Bovada.com. The Detroit Lions are considered the second choice at +500 while the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills follow at +700 and +900, respectively.

Jones is a game-changer and has been the Chiefs top defensive player for several seasons. The Chiefs were dependent on their defense throughout the season and their offense did not find its top gear until the postseason.

Chris Jones finished the season with 10.5 sacks, 30 tackles and 13 tackles for loss. He also batted down 4 passes for Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

Jones has had 3 seasons with the Chiefs in which he has had double-digit sacks. He had 15.5 sacks in both the 2018 and 2022 seasons.

While Jones had just 0.5 sacks in the postseason, he also had 8 tackles, 6 quarterback hits, 2 passes defensed and 1 forced fumble.

(Video) Watch Travis Kelce wipe away tears as emotional Jason Kelce retires from NFL

Travis Kelce was all of us Monday as his brother Jason Kelce retired after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end sat at the press conference, wiping away tears, as the 36-year-old center got emotional, calling it quits Monday at the Eagles’ NovaCare Complex.

“Let’s see how long this lasts,” said Kelce, wearing a sleeveless Eagles T-shirt, before he burst into tears and needed several moments to compose himself at a news conference attended by his parents, Ed and Donna, and Travis, who was wearing sunglasses inside the auditorium.

Jason Kelce spoke for roughly 45 minutes.

“I have been the underdog my entire career,” he said. “And I mean this when I say it, I still wish I was.”

Kelce was a sixth-round pick out of Cincinnati in the 2011 draft. The burly, bushy-haired and bearded Kelce has been a stalwart of the offensive line since he was drafted and as an Iron Man after he missed most of the 2012 season with a partially torn MCL and torn ACL.

The two brothers played each other in the Super Bowl two seasons ago, which was won by the Chiefs — “I won’t forget falling short to the Chiefs,” Jason said Monday — and co-host a podcast. Jason attended the Chiefs’ playoff game in frigid Buffalo temperatures in this season’s playoffs. He ripped off his shirt and chugged beers as he sat in a suite with Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Jason Kelce ended his career by making 156 straight starts, and he earned six All-Pro Team selections.

Kelce went on to play 193 regular-season games for the Eagles.

“It has always been a goal of mine to play my whole career in one city,” Kelce said. “I couldn’t have dreamt a better one if I tried.”

  • Chiefs Trade: 4 free agents on Kansas City Chiefs for the Chicago Bears to sign this offseason

Chiefs Trade: 4 free agents on Kansas City Chiefs for the Chicago Bears to sign this offseason

    By

The Chicago Bears will be looking into the free agency situations for every team this offseason to see which players would be fit for their roster moving forward. After the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, they knew that they had to continue to tweak their roster, and they would not run it back with the same names.

Does this open the door for the Chicago Bears to sign players from the Super Bowl roster?

The Kansas City Chiefs have pass-catching options available for the Chicago Bears this offseason.

The Kansas City Chiefs will have big decisions to make in the pass catcher department this offseason. The team saved over $11M this offseason by moving on from Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

While he had a strong postseason, his regular season was largely disappointing, and he is not worth that type of money.

Still, the Bears cannot trust Tyler Scott after his rookie year but also want him to be the starter. Do they sign Valdes-Scantling to push Scott?

If Scott struggles, at least they have a veteran deep threat, but if he thrives, the salary will not be much, and they could move on or make him a depth player.

The Chiefs may also release Kadarius Toney, but he does not feel like a fit for the culture that Ryan Poles is building. Kansas City is only cutting him to spare their culture, which says a lot.

Mecole Hardman is a free agent again after struggling with the New York Jets and rebounding with Kansas City. Still, he feels like he knows that Patrick Mahomes will give him his best situation.

One last name to look for is Richie James. He has return game ability that could let the Bears feel comfortable moving on from Trent Taylor or Velus Jones.

All four have pros and cons that make them options for Chicago.

Exclusive: Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce’s memorabilia sold for crazy prices at auction

Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce’s memorabilia sold for crazy prices at auction

A pair of Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia have been sold recently, per Goldin PR.

One of those items was a pair of Adidas cleats worn by Patrick Mahomes in Week 17 of the 2018 NFL season versus the then-Oakland Raiders. The description of the item goes:

“December 30, 2018 – Patrick Mahomes II Game-Used, Photo-Matched Adidas Cleats – 281 Passing Yards and 2 Touchdowns, Also Worn During Warmups of AFC Divisional Playoff Game.”

The cleats drew 36 bids, which started at $5,000 before getting sold for a tantalizing amount of $71,980.

In that game versus the Raiders during his second season in the NFL, Mahomes went 14/24 for 281 passing yards and two touchdowns against an interception to lead the Chiefs to a 35-3 victory at Arrowhead Stadium over their AFC West division rivals.

Tyreek Hill was still with the Chiefs at the time and he even caught one of Mahomes’ touchdown tosses in the contest.

The other Chiefs item sold by Goldin was a 2015 NFL season helmet worn by Kansas City star tight end Travis Kelce.

“2015 Travis Kelce Game-Used, Photo-Matched Kansas City Chiefs Helmet – Matched to (10) Games – Worn In Playoffs, Pro Bowl – Davious LOA” read the helmet’s description on Goldin’s site.

The helmet was sold for $26,840 after attracting a total of 30 bids, beginning at $2,500.

In the 2015 NFL season, Kelce posted 875 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 72 receptions and 103 targets across 16 games played.

It was also the same season in which Kelce earned his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Of course, years after Mahomes and Kelce wore those Chiefs items, they have won three Super Bowls together with perhaps more to come.
