Exclusive: Taylor Swift Reportedly Wrote ‘At Least’ Two Songs About Travis Kelce

    Travis Kelce Taylor Swift

Every good love story needs a soundtrack, and Taylor Swift may be writing her own.

According to a source that spoke with Us Weekly, Swift has already written “very personal” songs about her romance with Travis Kelce, which began shortly after the NFL player saw her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City and decided to shoot his shot on the New Heights podcast in July 2023. It’s been a constant stream of Sunday Night Football appearances, private jet flights, and Eras Tour shoutouts ever since.

“Taylor has already written songs about Travis,” the source claimed. “She’s written at least two songs. They have to do with their love story and falling in love with him.” Of course, we already got an unofficial theme song when Swift changed those Midnights lyrics to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.”

Just don’t expect to hear the alleged new material on her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department. “She likely won’t share them with anyone. They’re very special,” the source said. “Songs are like poetry to her. Just like most people journal, Taylor writes lyrics. Her relationship with Travis has inspired her.”

Meanwhile, fans suspect they’ll learn a lot more about Taylor Swift’s split from ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn when Tortured Poets drops on April 19. “I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me,” Swift told the crowd during a recent performance in Australia, per fan-recorded videos. “It sort of reminded me of why songwriting is something that actually gets me through life. And I’ve never had an album where I’ve needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured Poets.”

    Let the countdown begin.

This Was Taylor Swift’s 'Covert Strategy' to See Travis Kelce in Public When They First Got Together

In a recent episode of The Sports Shop with Reese and K-Mac, defensive backs coach Dave Merritt of the Kansas City Chiefs said that Taylor Swift went to Travis Kelce’s games before she was first seen at one in September of last year.

As reported by People, he revealed, “When [Taylor] started to come around, it was privately. She was coming into the stadiums without people knowing until the camera put a big spotlight on it.”

Even before Taylor Swift showed up to her first Kansas City Chiefs game, Travis Kelce was open about his admiration for the singer — and he hasn’t stopped praising her since! ❤️ pic.twitter.com/BLj75LQHjW

Early in the season, when Kelce made a joke on his New Heights podcast about having attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it when she performed her Eras Tour show in Kansas City in July, rumors about their possible relationship started to circulate online.

Speaking candidly about their first encounter, Merritt said that he thought Swift’s presence in Kansas City benefited the squad all season long. He added, “Upon meeting her, I felt like she actually added to what it was we were trying to do. Because there were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on the TV. [We were like], you know what? You’re part of our family because you’re with Travis, so therefore you’re our little sister. You’re part of our family.”

He continued, “She actually affected the team in a positive way. It wasn’t a negative way. Everybody was excited that Travis was happy. So, when my player, my brother, is happy beside me that helps me and that encourages me. Travis came in there a different man.” Swift’s sporadic attendance at NFL games has drawn criticism, but Merritt vehemently defended her assimilation into the Chiefs’ inner circle, calling her a ‘part of our family.’

His admission clarifies the couple’s dating history and supports Swift’s claim made in her December 2023 TIME Person of the Year biography. She revealed at the time, “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Since coming out with their relationship, Swift and Kelce have supported one other’s professional endeavors in return. On September 24, Swift went to what many thought to be her first Chiefs game—a 41-10 victory against the Chicago Bears. Swift supported Kelce at Super Bowl LVIII with her family and friends, putting up a unified front. In a similar vein, Kelce supported Swift’s musical ambitions by traveling with her on her Australian Eras Tour. Fans were aware that Swift saw 13 Chiefs games last season, and on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium, the pair planted a kiss on the field to clinch the Chiefs’ victory against the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Breaking New: Johnny Manziel claims the Chiefs almost signed him instead of drafting Patrick Mahomes during the 2017 offseason after he ‘took a few meetings in Kansas City’

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel recently said he believes Patrick Mahomes’ reign with the Kansas City Chiefs almost didn’t happen.

Manziel was appearing on the ‘The Rush Podcast,’ when he stated that he nearly signed with the Chiefs as a free agent back in 2017, which could have resulted in Kansas City not drafting Mahomes that year.

‘I thought I was going to sign in Kansas City the same year that Mahomes got drafted,’ Manziel said.

‘So I think if they wouldn’t have taken a quarterback, which thank God they did, I think I could have ended up there.’

Had Manziel signed with the Chiefs he likely would have occupied the backup QB spot behind incumbent starter Alex Smith, who had just been named to his second Pro Bowl after leading the team to a 12-4 record.

KC drafted Mahomes in 2017 after Manziel took multiple free agent meetings with the team

Manziel was originally drafted No. 22 by the Cleveland Browns and was cut after only two years

‘I took a couple meetings there and flew up to Kansas City and kicked the tires on it,’ Manziel said. ‘It ended up not working out.’

Manziel also mentioned that Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has developed a reputation for helping players redeem bounce back after off-field issues.

Some of the most notable careers Reid has gotten back on track were quarterback Michael Vick, tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

‘Andy Reid has a really good long history of being able to help people, and he saw something in me as well,’ Manziel said.

Manziel had originally been taken by the Cleveland Browns No. 22 overall but failed to replicate his Heisman Trophy success during his time Texas A&M due to issues both on and off the field.

The Chiefs ultimately selected Mahomes in the draft that year, which has proven to be a move that’s paid off.

The quarterback has led the franchise to three Super Bowl victories in five years, including this season’s back-to-back victory in Las Vegas.

(Breaking New) Chiefs Named ‘Obvious Choice’ to Sign Bears $42 Million WR

    Darnell Mooney

The Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach and head coach Andy Reid are in Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine. In addition to checking out the top prospective talent, they’re preparing for free agency.

In order to make a legit run at a Super Bowl three-peat, the Chiefs need to upgrade at wide receiver. Kansas City already parted ways with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, clearing approximately $12 million in cap space. According to a new report, Chicago Bears’ pending free agent Darnell Mooney is expected to land in Kansas City.

The Chicago Tribune’s Dan Wiederer posted on March 2, “On a lower-profile note, some chatter in Indy from folks eager to see where WR Darnell Mooney lands in a week and a half. There’s a small buzz on the possibility of Mooney having a resurgent 2024 at a great value price. Multiple people suggested KC.”

According to Spotrac.com, Mooney is predicted to earn a four-year $41.98 million contract. If the 26-year-old is willing to take a discount to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes, Veach could work something out.

The Bears Wire’s Brendan Sugrue posted, “KC has always been the obvious choice. Part of me wonders what he would look like back in Chicago in a new offense with a (likely) new QB. But I’m sure that ship has sailed.” Arrowhead Report’s Connor Christopherson wrote, “It’s ‘every wide receiver is going to KC’ szn, though Mooney actually does make a lot of sense.”

Darnell Mooney’s Career-Best Seasons Were Under Chiefs OC Matt Nagy

When the Bears drafted Mooney in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft, Matt Nagy was the head coach in Chicago. Nagy joined the Chiefs coaching staff in 2022 and was promoted to offensive coordinator last season.

The Tulane alum’s career-best seasons were during Nagy’s tenure as head coach. During his rookie season, Mooney caught 61 passes for 631 yards and 4 touchdowns. In 2021, he tallied 81 receptions for 1,055 yards and 4 touchdowns. Without Nagy, Mooney’s stats plummeted. Over the past two seasons, the receiver recorded 71 catches for 907 yards and 3 touchdowns.

After averaging 7.2 targets a game in his first two years, Mooney averaged 4.5 targets per game over the past two seasons.

KC Sports Network’s Matt Lane believes Mooney makes an easy fit into the Chiefs offense. “Logical move for the Chiefs if they can’t/don’t want to hit up the top end of the FA WR market,” Lane posted, “and his 50/50 outside-slot split plays into their scheme well.”

Bears General Manager was Non-Committal on Offering Darnell Mooney an Extension

    Darnell Mooney

GettyBears wide receiver Darnell Mooney at Soldier Field on October 22, 2023.

Speaking to reporters last month, Bears general manager Ryan Poles was cagey about keeping Mooney. “We’ll evaluate the whole year and like I told a lot of guys that are free agents, we’ll be in contact with them in terms of our direction,” Poles said, per SI.

“There’s different buckets. There’s guys that are going to have to go test the market and see what’s out there and maybe circle back. I know Mooney wishes he played a little bit better this year and things went better for him and made some more connections. But I know he’s going to bounce back and have a really good career.”

USA Today’s Lucas Hunt surmised, “Realistically, I don’t see Mooney staying in Chicago… It’s much more likely that he goes to a receiver-needy team where he can demonstrate that same dynamic route running and catching ability that had Bears fans so enamored with him and get paid like a true WR2.”

NEW UPDATE: Patrick Mahomes Has His Eye On 1 Wide Receiver Draft Prospect For Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs, Mike Evans, NFL Free Agency, Patrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was impressed by one wide receiver during the NFL Combine this weekend. The Chiefs are expected to add to the wide receiver position this offseason either through the draft or free agency.

The Kansas City Chiefs need better WRs in 2024

The Wide receiver position was a problem for the Chiefs last season, as the team led the league in dropped passes. They have several wide receivers from last season’s team who might not be in a red-and-white uniform next season.

The Chiefs released Marquez Valdes-Scantling last week due to cap space issues. The team could move on from Kadarius Toney following a rocky 2023 season where he made numerous mistakes on the field and caused drama off of it. Mecole Hardman is set to hit free agency.

Xavier Worthy had a big day on Saturday

One top pass-catching prospect in the 2024 draft had an incredible showing at the combine. Per GH Media, Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy broke the record for the fasted 40-yard dash time:
“Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy officially broke the NFL combine 40-yard dash record with a 4.21-second 40-yard dash.

Xavier Worthy just narrowly beat out the previous 40-yard dash record of 4.22 seconds, held by early first-round Cincinnati Bengals draft pick John Ross. Worthy was initially clocked in at 4.22 unofficially, but the official time saw Worthy break the record.”

Patrick Mahomes took notice of Worthy

Mahomes was impressed by Worthy’s time. He posted on X that Worthy was crazy fast.

Mahomes appears to be hinting he values Worthy and his speed. The Chiefs offense has missed an explosive element to it ever since they traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

The Chiefs have won two Super Bowls sans Hill, but it hasn’t always been easy on Mahomes. Mahomes was visibly frustrated this season with the offense’s struggles during the regular season. A regular season, by the way, where the Chiefs finished with the third seed in the AFC.

Could Worthy’s speed provide a Hill-like boost that opens up the field for Mahomes and the Chiefs after April’s Draft?

Recent rumors suggest that Travis Kelce may have inadvertently crossed a boundary set by his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, leading to potential tension in their relationship.

The NFL star was spotted enjoying himself at a club in Las Vegas, still celebrating the success of his team’s Super Bowl LVIII victory. However, his choice of entertainment reportedly involved interactions with “scantily-clad women,”

Swift, known for her meticulous approach to managing her public image and relationships, has purportedly established certain guidelines for Kelce to follow.

    Swift’s rules
These rules are aimed at safeguarding both his reputation and their relationship from potential misunderstandings.

An anonymous insider disclosed to Life & Style that one such rule involves refraining from posing with female fans to prevent any misleading headlines.

Despite these restrictions, it’s emphasized that Swift’s intentions are not about control but rather about nurturing a healthy and stable relationship.

The media outlet further elaborated that Swift sees these boundaries as constructive measures to support both Kelce’s personal life and professional endeavors.

“Taylor loves Travis and thinks these rules will help things with their romance, as well as his career, stay on the rails,” Life & Style noted.

The couple is reportedly committed to strengthening their bond and willing to make necessary adjustments to ensure their relationship thrives.

While Kelce’s recent actions may have inadvertently breached Swift’s guidelines, it appears that both parties remain dedicated to overcoming any challenges and building a stronger foundation for their romance.

The move came months after Kelce first publicly expressed interest in Swift, after attending one of her concerts.

January 26, 2024: Travis addresses dealing with public attention.
The tight end discussed how he and Swift are managing privacy with their relationship being in the public spotlight during a Chiefs press conference.

“As long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise,” he said during the conference. “That’s all that matters.”

Kelce went on to acknowledge the attention he has received over the past year, crediting both Super Bowl LVII, during which he faced off and won against his brother and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles, and his relationship with the pop superstar.

“I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building,” Kelce said.

“You hear the media throughout the year if we’re not having success, you know, maybe throw it out there that I wasn’t focused or that the team isn’t focused on certain things, and if you’re in this building, you know exactly what’s going on,” he continued. “So, you gotta compartmentalize what you’re hearing and make sure that you’re staying on task, and giving everybody in the building and on that team the right perception.”

The “Lover” singer subtly supports her man by liking an Instagram video from the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, which he hosts with brother Jason Kelce. In the clip, the brothers talk about how Jason celebrated Travis’s touchdown that Sunday, when the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 27–24, by taking off his shirt, jumping out of the VIP suite, and chugging a beer. It was Jason and wife Kylie Kelce’s first time meeting Swift, and Travis said “she absolutely loved” him.

Swift also likes a comment Kylie left on the podcast’s Instagram post. “‘I’m not asking for permission, I’m doing this.’ – the exact quote I will say when I’m grabbing the keys to go get a cat,” Kylie wrote, citing what Jason reportedly told her before taking off his shirt in the stadium.

Confirmed: Chiefs make final L’Jarius Sneed decision amid Chris Jones contract talks

Chiefs’ L’Jarius Sneed decision revealed amid Chris Jones contract talks.

Chiefs' L'Jarius Sneed and Chris Jones

The Kansas City Chiefs front office has some difficult decisions to make this offseason. With both L’Jarius Sneed and Chris Jones due for a new contract, the organization might have to get creative to keep both players. With that said, the team has officially made its final decision on what to do with Sneed.

Reports indicate the Chiefs have decided to place the franchise tag on L’Jarius Sneed on Monday, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. Meanwhile, the front office is continuing its contract negotiations with Chris Jones.

“While the Kansas City Chiefs continue to work towards a Chris Jones extension, the franchise tag will officially be placed on cornerback L’Jarius Sneed tomorrow, per sources.”

Kansas City’s defense was a bright spot for the team this last season. While the offense was a roller coaster, the defense maintained consistency and kept opponents at bay. So, it makes sense why the Chiefs want to bring back both Sneed and Jones.

The franchise tag gives the Chiefs some time to figure out contract talks with L’Jarius Sneed. It appears the strategy is to extend Chris Jones to a long-term contract then potentially further negotiations with Sneed. Either way, it appears Kansas City is going to maintain two of their star players on defense.

L’Jarius Sneed had a monster season. He routinely bottled up top wide receivers every week. Additionally, he finished with 78 total tackles, 14 pass deflections, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. Opponents had a hard time throwing his direction as he blanketed receivers all season.

We’ll see if the Chiefs can eventually get a long-term deal done with L’Jarius Sneed. In the meantime, all eyes are on Chris Jones to sign an extension before free agency opens.
