Kim Kardashian reveals why she skipped Met Gala afterparty as star had ‘perfect excuse’ to leave early

KIM Kardashian explained why she did not attend the Met Gala afterparty with the other guests.

The 43-year-old was seen covered by a sheet as she made a swift exit right after the event and was not spotted after.

Kim hopped straight on her lavish private jet after the event and headed off to the 2024 OMR Festival in Hamburg, Germany.

The festival celebrated digital marketing and Kim gave a business talk.

While on stage, Kim told speakers it’s important to keep her commitments as she had been at the Met just 18 hours before.

“I went from there to the plane,” she told the host, according to People.

“Slept on the plane and here I am.

“It was really good to not go to all the after parties. It’s not really my thing to go out so it was the perfect excuse, because I really wanted to come here,” she continued.

Kim then said she used the Met as a business opportunity.

“It’s an event that you really aspire to get invited to,” she said.

“I’ve always been so into fashion and beauty that I wanted to go and see what everyone would look like and what they were wearing and just to make connections and meet people, which leads to some business ideas and some connections and collaborations.”

“I think it didn’t start off with that intent, I was just happy to be invited and among so many people I loved and respected and as you become friendly with those people and opportunities come about the nature of it could change,” she concluded.

The Kardashian’s Met Gala look comprised of a silver dress and corset that clung to her curves.

The Met gives celebrities a theme which they must dress to each year.

This year was the Garden of Time, which drew inspiration from the exhibition theme, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Kim’s corset was Maison Margiela Artisanal designed by John Galliano.

Her outfit featured a heavily cinched-in waist with metal work shaped into flowers all over the front.

Kim also rocked a floor-length chain skirt that was adorned with more applique flowers.

    COVERED UP?

The Skims founder held a small gray cardigan over her shoulders which she clutched close to her as she smiled for the cameras.

When she left, Kim was covered by her assistants after she walked out of the lavish A-lister event at the end of the night before she headed to the after-party.

She was escorted into a waiting car, before leaving directly for Germany.

Fans flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to say that Kim was perpetuating an unrealistic body standard.

“How can she even breathe? Her and her entire family are obsessed with perpetuating unrealistic beauty expectations. They are not empowering or fashion icons,” wrote a fan in response to a video of Kim arriving at the event.

“Where is Miss Kim’s waist?” added another.

“She looks like she’s trying not to faint,” replied a third with a stressed-face emoji.

“I can’t wait for someone interview Kim so I can watch her try to take enough air into her diaphragm to say a sentence,” noted a fourth.

After falling to a 45-35 record on the year and losing a game they should have won against the tenth-seeded Golden State Warriors 44-35 on Tuesday night, how high can the ninth-seeded Los Angeles Lakers finish in the Western Conference standings?

Lakers News: LeBron James Described Process Of Getting Healthy Enough To Play Against Warriors

And how much worse can things get? We have everything covered.

With two games remaining, LA could finish the 2023–24 NBA season as strong as 47–35 or as weak as 45–37. If Los Angeles wins their season finale against the New Orleans Pelicans on April 14 (Saturday), they have a chance to finish as high as sixth seed.

Other than the seventh-seeded Phoenix Suns, who are now 46-33, none of the other teams in between them (which also includes the Sacramento Kings) could end with a 47-win season for this to occur.

The Warriors, who have won eight of their previous nine games (and now two in a row), have a good chance of pulling ahead of LA in the rankings.

LA Lakers Brace for Rematch Against New Orleans Pelicans in NBA Play-In Tournament

LeBron James appeared energized, strong on both sides of the floor, and prepared to contribute in the postseason as he wrapped up his 21st NBA regular season.

Lakers' LeBron James Hypes Pelicans' Zion Williamson: 'Almost Impossible to Stop Him' | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report

James finished with 28 points, 17 assists, 11 rebounds, and five steals as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated New Orleans 124-108 on Sunday to secure the eighth spot in the Western Conference and knock the Pelicans out of the coveted top six.

“Winning is all I want.” Therefore, I will be whatever the game asks me to be,” James, who also starts as Zion Williamson’s primary defender for the Pelicans, said. I’m a cutlery from Switzerland. Nothing is set in stone, but I have to do it all on the floor.”

In order to help set up a rematch in the conference play-in on Tuesday night in the same venue, Anthony Davis recorded 30 points and 11 rebounds against the team that selected him as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

Davis claimed his lower back “locked up” after being shoved from behind while in the air. He also stated that his injury was “nothing concerning.” Davis asked to leave the game in the closing minutes and cautiously made his way back to the locker room while clutching his lower back.

Davis declared, “I’m going to play in the play-in game on Tuesday, without a doubt.” “Just keep it flexible, get some massages and medical attention. Just wait and see how I feel in the coming 36 hours, then get ready.”

Los Angeles outscored New Orleans 68-42 in the paint thanks in large part to James’ playmaking, which led to his sixth triple-double of the year.

Williamson remarked, “They got whatever they wanted in the paint.” “They were superior to us in the paint.

According to James, his goal was to “read the game and just find my teammates.”

“Just try to put the ball on time and on target for either jump shots or guys at the rim,” said James. “Just trying to be very efficient with my play.”

Williamson, who leads the Pelicans in scoring per game with 23 points, was held to 12 points by James as well.

“What a beast he is. Williamson is nearly impossible to stop, James remarked. “So, just try to keep a body on him and just try to make it tough on him.”

Conversely, Williamson chastised himself for “being too passive.”

“I don’t think I was super aggressive the whole game,” he stated.

With eight victories in their last eleven regular-season games, the Lakers were led by 20 points from Austin Reaves and 19 from D’Angelo Russell.

The Pelicans, who had just returned high-scoring wing Brandon Ingram to the lineup after a four-game winning streak on the road, were led by 23-point shooter CJ McCollum, but they struggled at home to secure a No. 6 seed and avoid the play-in round.

Rather, the battle reminded fans of the Lakers’ embarrassing 133-89 victory against the Pelicans in the NBA In-Season Tournament semifinal in Las Vegas in December.

Coach Willie Green of the Pelicans commented, “They punched us right in the mouth and they kept going.” “We let a really good opportunity slip away.”

With a left knee contusion that kept him out of the previous twelve games, Ingram scored thirteen points. Herb Jones gave New Orleans another eighteen points.

The Lakers headed to the foul line due to what appeared to be an official error after Ingram’s three-pointer put the Pelicans ahead 28–24 at the start of the first quarter.

During the final two minutes of the game, Los Angeles committed their second foul, but official John Goble declared that they were incorrectly denied free throws. The Prince Taurean made both.

Prince’s driving layup to start the second quarter gave the Lakers a 32–24 lead. James then scored a reverse layup to start a 9-0 run that put the score at 41-26.

The Lakers were pulling down long rebounds and making baskets in transition, while New Orleans was missing 14 of its first 19 attempts from beyond the arc.

The Lakers took a 53-33 lead after Reaves’ 3-pointer and breakaway slam. It was their first 20-point advantage. Reaves 3 more brought the score 70-53.

With a 3-pointer by Reaves, two more from Russell, and a cutting slam by Davis to start the third quarter, the Lakers led 83-57.

The Lakers’ highest lead came from a Russell 3; they now led 91-59.

LeBron James Details How Lakers Let Game 1 Slip Away Against Nuggets

LeBron James Details How Lakers Let Game 1 Slip Away Against Nuggets

On opening day of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, the most anticipated game on the schedule was Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets.

Nugget of truth: Lakers just aren't good enough to beat Denver - Los Angeles Times

The Western Conference Finals between the Lakers and Nuggets the previous season started off with an exciting rematch. In the first half, Los Angeles gave Denver everything they could handle and took a 12-point lead.

Nevertheless, the Nuggets persisted in playing their style of hoops and ultimately defeated the Lakers with ease. LeBron James contributed with a stat line of 27 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds.

James discussed his thoughts on the team’s performance in the first half as well as the areas where Los Angeles failed.

“We came out and made some good shots, and we were able to connect on some shots and build up a 12-point lead, I just thought we were playing good basketball,” James stated. “Then, obviously, they rode that momentum to get to a double-digit lead for themselves, cutting that lead to three at the half with the spurt they had at the end of the second quarter which led into the third.”

Why Lakers Anthony Davis, LeBron James weren't enough in Game 1 - Los Angeles Times

James went on to say that if Los Angeles want to make a run at a title in this series, they must pay attention to the little things. I have, however, never been a part of a championship team that overlooked details. It’s a must; there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Finally, the King gave the Nuggets credit for their third-quarter offensive performance. “They just made shots, and they did a fairly good job at it. We were not very good offensively, and they made shots. Although I felt we looked fine together, we couldn’t seem to click. They performed admirably.

It will be interesting to watch how James and the Lakers react in Game 2 as he is well-versed in how to handle the playoffs in comparison to the regular season.

LeBron James is not freaking out over the Lakers’ nine-game losing streak against the Nuggets. The Lakers have now lost against the Nuggets nine times in a row after losing Game 1. James stressed that he’s not freaking out despite the losing run.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets: Simulator prediction, odds and props for Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs - silive.com

They safeguarded their home court; it’s just one game. On Monday, we have another chance to improve and return. We are aware of the level of difficulty and greatness of our opponent, as well as how tough it will be. That’s all a component of the game, then. I’m not the type of person that gets into a state of doubt. I’m not the right person to ask.

Los Angeles’ prospects won’t be made or broken in a single game, as James is aware, but they must perform better than they did in the first one.

In the opening game of their first-round playoff series, the Los Angeles Lakers outperformed the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron James' Strong Statement After Lakers vs. Nuggets Game 1

Nevertheless, despite LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ best efforts, the reigning NBA Champions would take control late in the second and early in the third quarter to strike first and grab a series lead.

LeBron finished with 27 points and eight assists, while Davis had a fantastic 32 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks, but the Lakers didn’t get enough offensive production from their bench players. The Lakers’ inability to clean the glass proved to be their downfall on the opposite side of the court.

LeBron is aware that the Lakers need to improve their ability to get players on the Nuggets’ frontcourt as the club scored 18 second-chance points as a result of the Nuggets’ 15 offensive rebounds.

LeBron James Delivers Serious Challenge To Los Angeles Lakers After Denver Nuggets Thrashing | Yardbarker

James stated, “Just get bodies, hit bodies.” It can be difficult at times. Aaron Gordon does a fantastic job at the dunker position, but we occasionally get caught up in rotations, which puts a tiny burden on him.

Joker is obviously a significant player on this team because of his ability to rebound when he misses or just in general. With MPJ, Joker, and Aaron Gordon, they have a formidable frontcourt. We simply need to work harder to get hits and get rebounds as a team when it comes to the defensive glass.

Denver is a very strong offensive club, thus giving them many more extra possessions will only lead to trouble. LeBron is aware of this, and even though he thought the Lakers performed admirably at moments in Game 1, he also knows that they must improve since there isn’t much margin for error if they want to defeat the Nuggets.

LeBron James, Anthony Davis Drop Truth Bomb on What Led To Los Angeles Lakers' Game 1 Loss To Denver Nuggets | Yardbarker

“We were not at our best. LeBron continued, “I think we played some decent ball tonight, but we could’ve been better. We simply don’t have much margin for mistake while playing this Denver club, particularly at home. They are, of course, the defending champions; they are merely a team that has experienced everything.

“You have to play well, make shots, defend, and you can’t give up more possessions after that. It will be challenging in and of itself to defend against a very skilled offensive squad when they have eighteen second-chance points, as you mentioned.

There are definitely things the Lakers can learn from their opening game, but it’s no secret that the Nuggets are a formidable opponent—their nine straight victories over Los Angeles attest to that.

LeBron stated prior to the series that the Lakers needed to play flawless basketball in order to compete with the Nuggets, and they fell short of that goal in Game 1. It will now be up to you to make those changes in Game 2.

Lakers' LeBron James Seems to Call Out Teammates After Loss to Nuggets

LeBron James explains how the Lakers lost Game 1.The Lakers played effectively in the first half, gaining a double-digit advantage before the Nuggets could rally. LeBron James believed that Denver maintained the momentum they had established at the close of the first half into the third quarter, when they seized the initiative.

In order to defeat the Nuggets and get to the postseason, James continued, the Lakers need to improve their attention to detail.
