Michael Jordan was the greatest.

The G.O.A.T. debate has been very controversial. It depends on the viewer’s age, and whether they could watch players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But the two justifiable arguments are for Jordan and LeBron. Both have many accomplishments, from multiple championships multi-time all-stars, and being great defensive players. But the obvious answer is Jordan. He is a 14-time all-star, 11- time all NBA, while also an amazing 10-scoring title – the highest of any player. Michael Jordan was also in 9 all-defense. With all those accomplishments, the only problem is he retired twice, first in October 1993, but ultimately returning in the 1993-94 season. Some might say LeBron has almost every statistic over him. Recently there was a poll done by the athletic asking active NBA players to find who is the best NBA player of all time: 58.3% went to MJ and 33% went to LeBron. 6.8% going to Kobe Bryant, and small percentages going to Bill Russell and Tracy McGrady. It is known throughout players who is the undisputed best player of all time. An argument LeBron fans say is  Jordan has only played 1072 games compared to LeBrons 1421 and still going. His fans also say he came into the NBA with the most pressure and still overachieved. But still, he will never pass MJ. Believing he played less was because he isn’t as available as LeBron is wrong. when he played the quality was near to perfection. Averaging Michael Jordan has influenced the entire world. His style, play, and shoes, have impacted the entire world. LeBron will never be greater than MJ. Jordan is 6-0 undefeated in the NBA Finals, and LeBron has lost six times out of 10 in the NBA finals. LeBron fans will say he played against better teams, giving examples like the 73-9 Warriors. With the back-to-back MVP Stephen Curry, the Greatest shooter ever. With another all-time shooter in Klay Thompson, and a great defender in Draymond Green. In 2016-17, he played against the Warriors which was also with Kevin Durant. Arguably the greatest scorer of all time. There’s no argument that LeBron has played against greater competition but Jordan has also played against all-time players. Players like Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Charles Barkley, and Karl Malone. Both players did not have a cakewalk to their championship. Defensively, LeBron is not a greater defender than Jordan, although he is much bigger and stronger than MJ. Jordan was a DPOY (Defensive Player of the Year) once, with LeBron having none. Jordan was in all-defense nine times with LeBron having six. LeBron will always be behind Jordan. Michael Jordan will always be the best.

Team USA men’s basketball roster reportedly revealed for 2024 Olympics

Steve Kerr has his squad for the 2024 Olympics.

Most of the squad set to compete in the Paris Games reportedly was revealed on Monday and it’s headlined by Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.

 

 

The 12-man roster has one spot open, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski added, which could be filled later.

Team USA is seeking its fifth straight gold medal in the Olympics. It’s the most dominant team in the competition having medaled in all 19 times it participated (withdrew from the 1980 Olympics in Russia).

 

Sixteen of those medals are gold, with one silver (1972) and two bronze (1988, 2004).

James, of course, has the most Olympics experience of anyone on the list. The 39-year-old was on the 2004 bronze-winning squad, then helped win gold in 2008 and 2012. This would be his fourth Olympics appearance.

On the contrary, Curry, surprisingly enough, is set to make his Olympics debut. The 36-year-old superstar has never competed in a prior tournament, so 2024 could be the year he adds more hardware to his already-stacked resume.

Durant, 35, could have the chance to make history. He’s one of two men’s basketball players with three gold medals (tied with Carmelo Anthony), so a fourth in 2024 would make him the winningest Olympic men’s basketball player of all time. Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi each possess five gold medals on the women’s side.

Elsewhere, Davis won gold at the 2012 Olympics in London. Booker, Tatum, Holiday and Adebayo were on the squad that most recently claimed gold in Tokyo.

Only Embiid, Edwards and Haliburton currently don’t have an Olympic medal.

Team USA’s group in Paris features Serbia, South Sudan and the winner of the Puerto Rico Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Rich Paul: ‘LeBron [James] is a free agent’

Although LeBron James can opt out of his contract and become a free agent this summer, there doesn’t seem to be the same type of anticipation or angst regarding his potential free agency as there was in the past when he was in the same situation.

He is widely expected to turn down his player option for next season and become a free agent. Many expect him to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers one way or another, and one report even indicated that he may do so by actually opting in instead.

During the alternate broadcast of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, Rich Paul, James’ agent, may have revealed the superstar’s plan.

 

 

It has been reported that part of James’ plan is to play two more seasons, at least for now. He just completed his 21st year in the NBA, and despite turning 39 years of age, he maintained the type of production he has always had throughout his career.

That production resulted in him being named to the All-NBA Third Team this season. It was the 20th time he had been selected to one of the All-NBA squads.

Lakers to keep No. 17 pick in 2024 NBA Draft, Pelicans defer to 2025

The Pelicans had until June 1st to decide whether to keep Los Angeles’ 2024 first round draft pick or defer and take the 2025 pick. That pick marks the final one owed to New Orleans as part of the AD trade.

As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski the Pelicans will defer the pick, allowing the Lakers to keep their No. 17 pick in this year’s NBA Draft.

 

The Pelicans were expected to let the Lakers keep 2024 first round pick, but now the Lakers franchise has clarity in both the present and near future. Now that they have their pick, the Lakers can use up to three future first round picks in a trade on draft night.

Vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka mentioned having these picks and using them in a potential deal after the trade deadline as a reason the team didn’t make a move during that window.

The time is now for the Lakers to “be aggressive” and go after another star or use the pick to bolster the roster with young talent.

 

Regarding players the Lakers have reportedly worked out, Bronny James is a prospect they now have the resources to draft.

Lakers fans want to draft Bronny James and while No. 17 is higher than any current projection has him going, Bronny has flown up draft boards starting with a strong performance at the NBA Draft Combine.

Whether the Lakers draft Bronny, trade their assets or start building through the draft, the good news is that they now know their options and understand them.

The AD deal is also now fully completed. It’s hard to determine a winner of the deal as the Pelicans won a play-in game in 2021-22 and had a couple of victories in a series against the Suns. The Lakers, meanwhile, won an NBA title the first year Davis joined the roster and just watched him earn First Team All-Defense and Second Team All-NBA honors this year.

It’s more than fair to say the Los Angeles Lakers would be struggling this season if it wasn’t for their superstar duo; a reality the NBA was emphatically reminded of on Friday night.

None of their Lakers teammates managed to reach the 15-point mark on the night. Meanwhile, the lowly Grizzlies put up a fight on their home floor, with four of their five starters scoring over 23 points. Lakers Ending Season On High Note

Los Angeles is playing some its best basketball of the season as the 2023-24 campaign winds to a close. With a 7-3 record over their last 10, LeBron and Co. have fought hard in ensuring as high a seed as possible for the inevitable Play-In Tournament. 

The Lakers have gone 16-9 since the All-Star break, resurrecting a season that looked doomed to end in an early playoff – or Play-In – exit. While the win over the Grizzlies was less than convincing, every win matters at this point of the season.

As it stands, Los Angeles is set to face the Phoenix Suns in the Play-In Tournament. The Lakers are 3-2 against the Suns this season.

Bronny James says it’s ‘tough’ being the son of an all-time great “It’s tough. A lot of criticism gets thrown my way”

Most young prospects don’t hit the NBA with the sort of expectations that come with being LeBron James’ son. It’s the unique burden that Bronny James bears.

“It’s tough,” he admitted on SiriusXM NBA Radio on Monday. “A lot of criticism gets thrown my way. But you know, I’ve got to deal with it. We all know what I’ve been through. I just try to make the best of my opportunities that are given to me.”

 

 

The younger James has to face questions about whether he would receive the same amount of attention were it not for his father’s prominence, especially since his one year at USC didn’t exactly impress.

James averaged just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes per game, making 25 total appearances (six starts). He shot 36.6 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from three, all concerning metrics.

There is some context to be considered. He suffered cardiac arrest in July and wasn’t able to make his freshman debut until December. That was undoubtedly a setback.

 

“He was in a tough situation in college,” an executive told ESPN’s Jamal Collier. “He had the health issue, and their backcourt was already set. Isaiah Collier is a legit lottery pick, and Boogie Ellis as a senior ahead of him. So I can see where [James] needs more time, but in a few years he’s got a shot to be an NBA rotation player.”

James is a solid defender and secondary playmaker, but he isn’t an aggressive or efficient scorer at this point in his career, making him a pretty big project as a prospect. It’s possible that he won’t be drafted at all and there’s a strong argument to be made that he would be best suited returning to school, though it wouldn’t be a shock if he went in the second round.

Further casting him in his father’s shadow are the reports that some teams might consider drafting him just to give themselves a better chance at signing his father. A team potentially prioritizing nepotism on its draft board isn’t Bronny’s fault—and there have since been reports that LeBron’s free agency decision won’t come down to whether a team drafts his son or not—but it’s the sort of storyline that most players simply will never endure.

The truth is that there are only a handful of players in the entire history of basketball who have played at LeBron’s level, so his son could never be expected to do the same. But Bronny is facing an additional level of scrutiny—would he even be in consideration for an NBA roster were it not for his father?

 

That’s for him to prove going forward. He mostly impressed at the NBA Draft Combine, improving his draft stock. Time will tell if he’s able to carve out a role for himself at the NBA level and create his own legacy.

There have also been many clues that Kylie has grown closer to the rapper as she wore his Nike shoes in a pH๏τo shared last week when she was on a private jet heading to the Bahamas.

And last week the Hidden Hills, California resident also shared a flashback pH๏τo of the singer adding, ‘It’s a mood.’

They were also seen heading to an Oscar after party together in February.

Kylie Jenner flaunted her toned and тιԍнтened form in a trio of smoking pH๏τos that were shared to her Instagram account on Saturday.

The 23-year-old social media powerhouse was pictured posing on the pᴀssenger side of a car while striking a few poses for her nearly 250 million followers to admire.

Prior to sharing the smoking snaps, the entrepreneur posted several videos of herself spending time with her young daughter Stormi, aged three, to her Instagram Story.

Jenner was dressed in a strapless light blue-green camouflage top that featured a flowing top, and at one point, she pulled the lower section away from her to expose part of her sculpted midsection.

The cosmetics mogul paired her top with a matching set of high-waisted pants that covered up her curvy hips.

The reality television personality accessorized with a single silver bracelet and a pair of earrings while her striking brunette hair cascaded onto her shoulders and backside.

She also added a short message in the post’s caption that read: ‘it’s the weekend.’

Before she shared the trio of sH๏τs, Jenner shared several videos of Stormi to her Story, the first of which showed her daughter singing Blackbird by The Beatles.

The businesswoman congratulated her kid after she finished performing and commented that her version of the song was ‘beautiful.’
