The support for the USC Trojans and young Bronny James Jr. keeps on growing as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer laced up a special pair of his Nike LeBron 21 in the Los Angeles Lakers’ most recent game against Phoenix. Check out our Sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

LeBron James has been spotted countless times this season cheering on the USC Trojans and has even gone as far to say he’ll miss a Laker game to see Bronny play. Well, LeBron wasn’t missing out on his chance to beat the rival Phoenix Suns last night, but that didn’t stop him from showing his continued support for his son and the program.

We’ve seen LeBron wearing a number of USC and Ohio State-inspired sneakers throughout the year, but this is the first time we’ve seen this clean white iteration. The uppers look to be a thick white leather with an outlined Nike Swoosh in cardinal red on the lateral side. The medial Nike Swoosh features a tiger stripe stitching in cardinal.

The midsole features also cardinal speckling and the red dominates the shoe. Hits of gold are seen accenting the red and we see LeBron’s signature in gold on one tongue, followed by the USC logo on the other tongue. Per usual LeBron James fashion, he inscribed the names of his James Gang in Sharpie along the outside. This was a great way for LeBron to show love to USC, but don’t expect a public release any time in the near future.

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Phoenix Suns 113-123 during last night’s game. At 39 years old playing in year 21, LeBron James managed a game-high 28 points, game-high 12 assists, and added seven rebounds as he flirted with another career triple-double. The Lakers fell to 31-28 on the season, but they’re still managing a winning record and are in playoff position.

With the season winding down, expect LeBron James to bust out way more PE and exclusive Nike LeBron 21’s throughout the season, but you can find his other models in Nike retailers and marketplaces like KICKSCREW.

LeBron James Reaches Unmatched Milestone, Becomes the First Player Ever to Achieve 40,000 Points, Further Establishing His Dominance as the NBA’s Leading Scorer.

LeBron James became the first player in the history of the NBA to score 40,000 points on Saturday night.

The NBA legend reached the milestone during the second quarter of Los Angeles Lakers’ 124-114 loss against the Denver Nuggets at Crypto.com Arena, hitting a scoop layup off the glass.

James, who entered the game needing nine points to reach the milestone, used a spin move to create separation from Denver’s Michael Porter Jr. and put the ball in with his left hand as the all-time scoring leader continues to put his record further out of reach.

The sold-out crowd in downtown Los Angeles roared with approval when James made the highly-anticipated shot to reach 40,000 points.

James received a standing ovation at the next timeout, while coach Darvin Ham gave him a congratulatory pat on the chest. There was an in-arena video presentation, which was preceded and followed by James raising the ball over his head.

James shot an airball on his first attempt of the night but responded by getting out in transition for a layup for his first points and prompting the Nuggets to use their first timeout. He then made a corner 3-pointer before subbing out with 3:19 left in the first quarter.

James checked back in to start the second quarter, attacking the basket 14 seconds into the period to set up the milestone score.

The four-time champion ‘King James’ became the league’s scoring king just over a year ago when he passed Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

On February 7 2023, James broke the 34-year record in front of fans who had shelled out thousands to secure a seat at Crypto.com arena to witness history and Abdul-Jabbar himself.

The King claimed the record with 10.9 seconds remaining in the third quarter with a trademark fadeaway dagger.

He reached 39,000 points on November 21 in an In-Season Tournament game against the Utah Jazz.

Ham was a young fan when Abdul-Jabbar was finishing out his career and assumed the record would never be challenged, let alone surpassed in the way James has.

‘But here we are,’ Ham said before the game. ‘It´s a testament to Bron, just the time and resources he spends on himself, making sure not only he is healthy but he´s healthy at a high level.’

James, 39, has also played the second-most regular season and most playoff minutes in league history. He is the only NBA player with at least 10,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists.

The 39-year-old is the oldest player in the NBA, but continues to produce at an elite level in his 21st season, where he is on track to average about 25 points per game.

On Wednesday, James scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to overcome a 21-point deficit to the Clippers as the 10th placed Lakers fight for a playoff spot in the crowded Western Conference.

Drafted into the league as a teenager, the Akron, Ohio native has more than delivered on the massive expectations put on his broad shoulders at a young age.

A versatile forward, he helped usher in the era of position-less basketball, winning four titles with three different teams, four MVP awards and four Finals MVP awards.

James has a player-option for the 2024-25 NBA season, which gives him the power to decide whether to stay with the Lakers for another year or become an unrestricted free agent.

So far, he has refrained from committing to the Lakers beyond the current season.

In January, James was among the 41 names listed in USA Basketball’s player pool for the Paris Olympics.

James has not played for Team USA since he won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Lakers Fall Short Despite LeBron’s 40,000 Points as Jokic and the Nuggets Finish Strong for 124-114 Victory.

LeBron James reached 40,000 points, but Nikola Jokic had 35 points and 10 rebounds and the Denver Nuggets made a late push to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 124-114 on Saturday night.

Aaron Gordon hit a 3-pointer with 3:49 remaining to put Denver back in front, and the Nuggets closed on a 19-6 run for their sixth straight win. Michael Porter Jr. made all 10 of his shots to finish with 25 points, Jamal Murray had 24 points and 11 assists, and Gordon ended up with 18 points.

“I don´t think it matters who we´re playing and what night it is, we’re coming to win, and we’re taking care of business the way we’re supposed to,” said Justin Holiday, who tied it at 108 with 4:29 remaining.

James had 26 points and nine assists while checking off his latest milestone, but the Lakers couldn´t get their third straight win. Rui Hachimura had 23 points, and Anthony Davis added 17 points and 11 rebounds as all five Los Angeles starters had at least 17 points.

James spun around Porter and drove the lane to hit a layup with 10:39 left in the second quarter to reach 40,000 points as he tries to put the career scoring record out of reach.

“Being the first player to do something, it´s pretty cool in this league, just knowing the history, the greats that´s come through the league and then you see some of the greats on the floor tonight, it was great to compete,” James said. “But for me, the main thing, as always, is to win, and I hated that it had to happen in a defeat.”

James received a standing ovation at the next timeout, while coach Darvin Ham gave him a congratulatory pat on the chest as he came to the sideline. There was an in-arena video presentation, which was preceded and followed by James raising the ball over his head to the delight of fans, many of whom were wearing his Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat or St. Vincent-St. Mary High School jerseys.

“Man, you look at a lot of great players that have played this game, and no one was even close to 40,” Davis said. “Obviously, it’s a great moment, obviously it would be better if we get the win.”

The two teams were essentially even through the first 44 minutes before Denver used the one-two punch of Jokic and Murray, with spacing and shot-making around them, to excel in crunch time.

“I think we got a lot of guys who feel comfortable under pressure,” Porter said. “You got Nikola, the best player in the world. You know, Jamal with the ball in his hands a lot. And then you got shooters who are ready to knock down shots under pressure time, so just a lot of guys that are comfortable in those situations.”

The Nuggets swept the three-game season series, leaving James to admit “they have our number.

“It’s always kind of the fourth quarter, the last six minutes or the last few minutes of the game,” he said. “They make plays, we don’t make plays, and that can be frustrating.”

LeBron James and Stephen Curry Pose Challenges in Pelicans’ Quest for Playoffs.

LeBron James and Stephen Curry Pose Challenges in Pelicans’ Quest for Playoffs.

The NBA Season is about three-quarters finished and the sprint to the postseason, or draft lottery, is now in top gear for every franchise. The Boston Celtics are running away with the regular season title but the NBA Playoffs are the true prize. Unfortunately for the New Orleans Pelicans, their schedule down the stretch appears tougher than most expected at the start of the season.

The Pelicans were reminded of their late-game meltdowns on their first nationally televised game since the NBA All-Star break. A loss to the Indiana Pacers dragged New Orleans back into the NBA Play-In Tournament morass. Willie Green’s then fifth-placed group had an opportunity to close the gap to fourth but instead fell back to just a half-game above the seventh-placed Dallas Mavericks.

Willie Green’s Pelicans needed a win in a March 1 home rematch against the Pacers to again jump the Phoenix Suns for fifth. Much like Matt Damon’s Mike McDermott in Rounders, New Orleans is doing a lot of rough work to just wind back up where they started. The Big Three of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum also have a lot of All-World competition in trying to avoid the Play-In elimination rounds.

Pelicans fighting for fifth, home court advantage in sight

The Pelicans are playing standings musical chairs with six franchises trying to find a way to land in one of the two secured seats. The fifth- and sixth-placed teams will get a week-long break before starting a seven-game series. Seventh through tenth will fight tooth and nail in the shorted elimination Play-In rounds. Thankfully for New Orleans, the franchise has a small advantage over the field over their last 22 games.

The Phoenix Suns have the most challenging end-of-season slate to navigate. Kevin Durant has to drag his new franchise through four back-to-back sets and 13 road games in the next six weeks. Bradley Beal is likely to be unavailable for at least half of those matchups, if not more. New Orleans should be able to leapfrog the Suns under those circumstances.

Chasing down the Los Angeles Clippers is also a possibility. A home-court advantage in the four vs. five series means more for less experienced teams like the Pelicans. Kawhi Leonard is healthy but L.A. has six back-to-back sets over the next six weeks. Facing the 12th-toughest remaining schedule, Ty Lue will look to limit his All-Star’s miles before the postseason.

The Pelicans do not have the resume to rest on their laurels. Leonard does, especially if Paul George and James Harden keep the Clippers comfortably in fourth place.

Pelicans playing with NBA Play-In fire

The Pelicans, flaws and all, do not have to worry about the other teams if they take care of business. Protecting home court and closing out games against lottery teams have been issues all season though. New Orleans has squandered 17 double-digit leads already. If they had won just half of those games, the Zion Williamson-led team would be sitting in first place in the Western Conference.

The Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Golden State Warriors are occupying the NBA Play-In spots as of March 1. Facing Luka Doncic, LeBron James, or Steph Curry in an elimination game is not ideal for any coach looking to calm postseason nerves. The Kings, with six back-to-back sets, and the Lakers, who get 12 home games to nine road, both have more difficult schedules.

The Mavericks are a half-game behind the Pelicans. The Warriors are three games below the Play-In cutoff line. Golden State has the seventh easiest schedule but Andrew Wiggins just took a leave of absence.

Curry’s aging dynasty likely has to drive through five back-to-backs and 14 road games plus two elimination games just to get to the first round. They are five games ahead of the Utah Jazz sitting in 11th, so there is almost no chance the Warriors drop below the 10th seed.

Sacramento is starting to falter, losing their last two games of February. They have 15 home games to just nine on the road but the Pelicans also hold the tiebreaker of the Kings. The Lakers have only three back-to-back sets but just 21 games to make up ground. They are also 9-21 on the road.

New Orleans has six games against teams in the middle of the Western Conference. A March 15 visit from the Clippers is the only matchup in March though. The Suns come to the Smoothie King Center on April Fools. The Orlando Magic (April 3) and San Antonio Spurs (April 5) follow at home.

Four of the next five Pelicans games come against the Suns, Kings, Warriors, and Lakers. There is an April 9 trip to Portland in between.

The regular season finale at home against Lebron’s Lakers could have huge seeding ramifications. It’s also the only home game in the last week. Trips to Phoenix (April 7), Sacramento (April 11), and Golden State (April 12) will test the Pelicans mettle going into the postseason.

Letting a few of the games against lottery teams slip away will put the Pelicans in a far worse position, playing just to survive and advance. Handle business and Green can get selective with some rotational rest.

Still, this is a tougher-than-expected road for the Pelicans. One or two underperforming teams dropping into the back half of the bracket is normal. Not many would have thought that one-named stars like Luka, KD, Steph, Fox, Zion, and LeBron would all be playing for their NBA Playoffs lives this late into the season. Considering the road ahead, Green’s locker room can earn some on-court respect by grinding out a top-six finish.

MJ threw that check and said f**k off”- Gilbert Arenas recalls how Michael Jordan once threw away $10 million just because he felt disrespected

NBA legend Michael Jordan didn’t experience much success during his time as president of basketball operations for the Washington Wizards.

Most notably, Jordan selected notorious draft bust Kwame Brown No. 1 in the 2001 NBA draft.

Jordan then decided to come out of retirement and play two seasons for the Wizards from 2001 to 2003. Upon his third and final retirement, Jordan expected to retain his role as president of basketball operations. However, then-Wizards owner Abe Pollin had other plans.

During an interview with VladTV in 2021, Arenas said that he was considering signing with the Wizards shortly after Jordan was fired in 2003. Arenas said that Pollin told him that the Wizards’ players didn’t want Jordan to be around anymore. This came despite Jordan planning to purchase a new ownership stake in the team:

“So while I’m trying to figure out what I’m gonna do, Jordan’s trying to figure out what he’s going to do with the Wizards because he’s supposed to be the owner,” Arenas said.

“So when I went there, that was actually one of my questions, or my dad’s question, ‘Like, hey, what’s up with the Jordan thing, why didn’t you sign him back?’

“And Abe Pollin was like, ‘I love basketball, I love the players, so I asked the players what do they want, and the players did not want Jordan back.’”

Arenas said that Abe Pollin tried to pay Michael Jordan $10 million to leave the team on good terms. However, Jordan felt so disrespected by Pollin that he threw the $10 million away:

“So it’s mental MJ, too. So ‘The Last Dance MJ,’ that mentality, those young kids weren’t ready for it. So they’re looking at an icon who becomes this bad guy to them.

“You know MJ, ‘Yeah, I won six championships, what the f**k are y’all gonna do for me?’ It’s that MJ, so those guys were like, ‘We don’t want him as an owner. If this is what he was as a player, we don’t want him as an owner.’

“(Pollin) was like, ‘Yeah, you know, I wrote MJ a check, $10 million dollars and said thank you for your services.’ MJ threw that check and said ‘F**k off.’”

How did Michael Jordan fare during his two seasons with the Washington Wizards?

As for how Michael Jordan fared during his brief time playing for Washington, Jordan still put up respectable numbers given his age and waning athleticism.

The aging star averaged 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game on 43.1% shooting over 142 games.

However, it didn’t translate to the win column as Washington went 37-45 in back-to-back years, missing the playoffs in both seasons. Overall, the Wizards finished with a total record of just 67-75 in the 142 games Jordan played for the franchise.

How Mісhael Jordаn mаkeѕ аnd ѕрendѕ hіѕ bіllіonѕ

Michael Jordan continues to live a charmed life long after his iconic NBA career concluded in 2003. The Chicago Bulls legend recently joined the prestigious Forbes 400 list—a compilation of the wealthiest individuals in the United States—thanks to his billion-dollar fortune.

But how exactly did Michael Jordan amass such an incredible amount of wealth? And more importantly, how does he choose to spend it?

Sold majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets

Jordan’s steep rise in valuation came to be after he sold his majority stake in the NBA franchise, Charlotte Hornets, to Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin for an estimated $3 billion. It’s an incredible and lucrative deal, considering Jordan only shelled out $175 million to become a majority Hornets owner in 2010.

    The Jordan Brand

Jordan’s deal with Nike continues to line up his pockets to this day, with a report from Fox News indicating that his five percent in royalties earned him a whopping $330 million last year. Additionally, a Business Insider report shared that the Jordan Brand earns Nike an annual revenue of $3.6 billion.

It’s intriguing that Jordan and Nike almost never collaborated, as the former was keen on joining adidas in 1984. However, he was eventually convinced dealing with Nike was the right call and signed for $250,000 a year. Nike initially projected that the first Air Jordan would only sell around $3 million, but those expectations were shattered as sales rose to $70 million two months after the shoe was released.

    Racing team

Jordan padded his portfolio by co-founding a NASCAR race team in 2020 called 23XI Racing. According to Jordan’s partner in this venture, race car driver Denny Hamlin, Jordan is becoming more hands-on in handling the team, giving the NBA great another avenue to showcase his competitiveness.

“He’s obviously been a part of team sports forever. He’s, at times, heard things in meetings where he’s like, ‘I don’t like that. We need to be more self-reflective on what we need to do better.’ That goes such a long way with our team,” Hamlin said.

The Eсonomіс Develoрment Commіttee рrevіously voted to аррrove а new аррroаch to іnсrease teаm ѕрending аt the trаіnіng сenter, move more сіty fundѕ to the Sрeсtrum Center аnd reloсаte trаіnіng fасilities.

Mісhael Jordаn hаѕ reрortedly been іnvolved іn meetіngѕ wіth the сіty thаt hаve been ongoіng ѕіnce аt leаѕt 2022. The сіty рlаns to сreаte а thrіvіng entertаіnment dіѕtrіct аround the аrenа аnd іtѕ NBA teаm. It wіll mаіntаіn аn іnveѕtment of $275 mіllіon.

However, the teаm wаntѕ the new utіlіty fасility to be loсаted on а grаvel lot next to the Sрeсtrum Center, rаther thаn the рrevіously рroрoѕed loсаtion of the Chаrlotte Trаnsportаtion Center. The Hornetѕ іnveѕted $70 to $100 mіllіon іn the рrojeсt. However, іt wаntѕ the сіty to сut іnveѕtment by $30 to $60 mіllіon іn new utіlіty fасilities аnd іnѕtead fund ѕtаdium uрgrаdes.

The аrrаngement wіll gіve the Hornetѕ full ownerѕhіp of the trаіnіng fасility. However, the сіty wаѕ unwіllіng to рut money іnto а buіldіng thаt іt dіd not own. The Eсonomіс Develoрment Commіttee hаѕ ѕent the рlаn to the Cіty Counсіl for сonsideration, wіth а deсіsіon exрeсted by the end of thіѕ month. If аррroved, the Hornetѕ would ассelerаte the tіmelіne to сomрlete сonѕtruсtion of the асtuаl fасility by 2026.
