The younger James’ USC Trojans hosted the Arizona Wildcats in an action-packed encounter that lived up to the hype. While the end-to-end battle occurred on the court, some eyes were still focused on the LA Lakers superstar.
Many were quick to note Savannah’s somewhat distant treatment of the four-time NBA MVP based on a photo going around social media. Basketball fans promptly pointed out that on Friday, James was seemingly fawned over by Linda Rambis and Jeanie Buss. It became a viral video and was suspected by most fans as the reason for what could be a strain between the couple.

On Friday, “King James” sat out as the Lakers hosted Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. He spent most of his time cheering on his teammates while also helping coach Darvin Ham during timeouts. James, however, also met with team governor Jeanie Buss and executive Linda Rambis.

The comments could be simple overreactions to the photo of a somewhat strained tension between LeBron James and Savannah James. There could also be something simmering between them. But, whatever it is, they’ll likely keep it to themselves.

One of LeBron James’ most incredible statistical achievements reached a new, ridiculous level after Sunday’s Lakers game against the Wolves.

LeBron James has a number of records that are looking increasingly unlikely to be broken. The 40,000-point mark he recently passed certainly feels like one of those achievements, especially considering the list of people who have cleared 35k points is only three players long.
But easily his most unbreakable record is his double-digit points streak. Something that has gained more attention in recent seasons, LeBron’s points streak is at a level that often makes it hard to contextualize just how long it is.
Fortunately, there is a very good way of framing it for Lakers fans specifically to understand how long the streak is. After scoring 29 points in Sunday’s win over the Wolves, LeBron’s streak is at 1,208 games…one game longer than a very notable former Lakers’ career.

For a bit of clarity, that is Shaq’s total number of regular season games, but that doesn’t make it any less remarkable.
At this point, it’s hard to even rationalize how far ahead of everyone else he is with this streak. Kevin Durant is the next-closest active player and he’s at 170 games. LeBron’s streak would require someone to score double digits for OVER FOURTEEN SEASONS IN A ROW.
If we’re going to try to contextualize it versus entire careers of players, which is a hilarious but also convenient way to do it, then he’s closing in on Pau Gasol, who played 1,226 regular season games. If he continues this into next season, we’re looking at players like Dwight Howard (1,242), Carmelo Anthony (1,260) and Derek Fisher (1,287) as players he could potentially catch.
More absurdly, if this continues into next season, then we’re looking at his streak of double-digit games being long enough to be in the top 30 all-time in games played in NBA/ABA history. That is a sentence that doesn’t even feel real. Right now, AC Green is 30th all-time in games played at 1,278. It’s conceivable LeBron could pass that next season.
Of all of LeBron’s ridiculous statistical achievements, though, this one feels like it should be at the top of the list. When you have to contextualize the length of an accomplishment vs. entire careers of legends, that should tell you how incredible this is.

Curry’s parents met when they were both at Virginia Tech, with Curry’s father attending the school from 1982 to 1986. He played for the college all four seasons and helped the Hokies to four postseason tournaments. In fact, Dell Curry was so instrumental to the team that he was honored as the first basketball player from the college to have his jersey retired, which took place before his last home game on March 1, 1986, Virginia Tech reported.
Dell and Sonya Curry married in 1988 and welcomed their first son, Steph Curry, that year. The couple then welcomed two more children, a son named Seth Curry and a daughter named Sydel Curry.

The former couple told People in a statement that they had explored a “trial separation” but ultimately decided to end the marriage. TMZ Sports reported at the time that court documents included accusations from both Sonya and Dell Curry that the other party had been unfaithful during their marriage.
Curry got candid about his parents’ divorce in an interview with The Ringer in February 2022, explaining that it had been “challenging.” He said, “I could be mad and be like, ‘Y’all effed this up.’ I could have that approach. But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all.”

However, while Dell Curry was a supportive father and wanted to see his children succeed in athletics, he said chores were always the most important and he wouldn’t hesitate to enforce the rules. “As educators there were chores to do at home so there’s stuff to do to earn the right to go to the games, we thought that kept them hungry,” he said. Curry’s father added that his children quickly learned that watching him play or practice was a “privilege.”
During his interview with the publication, Dell Curry said their three children rotated through the three chores: dog duty, dishes after meals and trash duty. “When one of them did not do their chore, me and the wife didn’t say anything,” Dell Curry explained. “Just when it came time for them to go to the game or a sporting event or anything, we just said ‘no, you didn’t do this’, so it was part of the discipline to do the chores but also the organization for them to remember what their responsibilities were.”
Curry revealed that spending time with his father at the games and practices and seeing him with his teammates in that environment made him want the same for his own career. He told the Charlotte Observer that the NBA was his goal although he wasn’t sure what the path would be to get there.
It’s clear that Curry’s path has led him to greatness, and his father admitted that his son has now clearly surpassed him. “He’s definitely better than I was,” Dell Curry told GQ. “I had a two-dribble limit. He’s probably best off the dribble. His range is definitely farther than mine was. But it’s a different NBA. I would never take 35-foot three-pointers with 17 seconds on the shot clock. So it’s a different game, and he plays with a team and a coach that allows him to play that freely.”
