Michael Jordan admits there are similarities between his younger self and Anthony Edwards.

Yong star Anthony Edwards has officially received the stamp of approval from the NBA’s GOAT. In view of the Timberwolves star, Michael Jordan allegedly told NBA insider Chris Broussard that there are some noticeable similarities in their game.

“I reached out to the GOAT today, he said there are similarities in their game,” said Chris Broussard on First Thing’s First. “He agreed. If Jordan says there are similarities, then there are similarities.”

Michael Jordan did not win titles right away, but he was a star from the very beginning. After winning Rookie of the Year in 1985, he cemented himself as a basketball superstar by his early 20s, when he averaged over 32 points per game for the Bulls.

 

Today, six championships and over 20 years later, Jordan has become a legend in the NBA and the most common choice among fans and players as the greatest of all time. So far, nobody has been able to match the early dominance of Jordan but Edwards is arguably the closest thing we have today.

Drafted with the first overall pick in 2020, Edwards was an easy choice for the Timberwolves and he continues to show why the scouts were so high on him. At 6-4 and 225 pounds, Edwards is an ideal size for a modern shooting guard and he’s found massive success on both sides of the court.

With one of the highest vertical leaps in recent NBA history, Edwards’ athleticism is comparable only with the likes of Michael Jordan, Derrick Rose, and other high-flyers. His competitive edge is also very similar to the one Michael used to play with on the court, the same one that made him famous for having the ultimate winner’s mentality.

 

But while the similarities are evident, Edwards needs more on his resume if he’s to compare with Michael Jordan and other all-time greats. The Timberwolves just haven’t been good enough so far and Ant will have to change that if he wants his career to hold up with the greats.

When Will Edwards Win His First Ring?

The Michael Jordan comparisons have been going on for a while now, long before Jordan himself acknowledged them. For months now, various former players, scouts, and fans have likened Edwards to a modern-day Jordan for his playstyle, athleticism, and mental approach to the game.

At just 22 years old, Edwards still has a lot of time to prove himself. As good as Jordan was, he didn’t win a championship until he was 27 years old, after seven regular season campaigns with the Bulls. It took him years and many losses to get to the Finals but he didn’t look back once it was his time to shine.

 

So far, Edwards hasn’t come close to winning the title and he’s not on track to outpace Jordan. Since his career began, the Timberwolves have been more of an afterthought in the West than anything else and they have yet to win a single playoff series.

As the 2nd seed in the West this season, this could be the year that the Timberwolves shave their breakout moment but it’s something that most fans will have to see to believe. For a franchise with such historically bad luck, the odds will surely be stacked against them this spring. But if Edwards is even close to as good as he thinks he is, Minnesota cannot be counted out against any team this year.

The maybe-in-a-lifetime moment happened on Sunday night as Messi’s team, Inter Miami went up against the L.A. Galaxy at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, where every player came out into the field hand in hand with a local child.

“Saint walking Messi out on the field tonight at the La Galaxy vs Inter Miami game!!!” Kardashian wrote over a clip shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). “He is living the absolute dream!”

The makeup mogul also shared a picture of Saint and one of his friends watching the game on her Instagram Stories, being grateful to the L.A. Galaxy for “making all of their dreams come true.”

However, not everyone was pleased with the opportunity that Kardashian’s son got.

“Talk about privilege. Hope he can kick the ball,” wrote one critic, while another added, “Would be awesome if some kid actually deserving of it got that opportunity. Not someone who was incredibly lucky to be born to billionaires.”

“What money can buy,” a third wrote.

But there was support amid hate as well.

“People mad at this are pathetic,” defended one fan. “If you could do it for your kid you all would if that’s what they wanted. Kim can and she did.”

‘I don’t know. I really don’t. There’ll be moods where I’m just like, “You know what? I understand my life is really big and I understand it takes a really, really, really special, unique person to want to deal with that,’ she shared.

‘I think my life is really fun and whoever comes in my life will have a really good time, but it’s a lot.’

As for the characteristics her man needs to possess, she said: ‘Accountable for actions. Takes accountability. Good teeth. Can hold their own. I don’t have to babysit all the time. I mean, just a good genuine person that’s driven and has their own motivations in life to, the list is so long. I can’t. I’m tripping myself up trying to think of just four.’

‘But I’m also not so delusional to know that someone will check every single box.’

Kim was previously married three times. Her most recent husband was rapper Kanye West, 46, with whom she shares four kids: North, 10, Saint, eight, Chicago, six, and Psalm, four. The pair were together from 2012 until 2021.

Kanye has issued a number of scathing attacks against Kim and her family in recent years, with Kim even being brought to tears amid the drama. More recently, Kanye was filmed arguing with a reporter, something relationship expert Louella Alderson believes will have reminded Kim of the “challenges” during her marriage.

Kanye became involved in a public spat with the journalist as he took her phone when he became triggered by a question about his wife Bianca Censori. He then went on a furious rant at the reporter.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Louella said: “Given Kanye’s past erratic behaviour, it’s unlikely that Kim will be surprised or overly affected by his recent outburst with a female reporter. She has been dealing with Kanye’s unpredictable actions and public statements for years now and has likely developed a thick skin when it comes to his behaviour.”

She added: “Kim always remains tight-lipped about Kanye’s behaviour, even when he has publicly spoken about her. So, it’s unlikely that this incident will cause any major rift or tension between them.

“It may just serve as a reminder to Kim of why they ended their marriage and the day-to-day challenges she no longer has to deal with.” Louella suggested the incident is unlikely to have affected their co=parenting relationship, however.

She explained: “With Kanye being remarried and them both moving on with their lives, it’s unlikely that this specific incident will greatly affect their co-parenting relationship. Kim knows what Kanye is like and this will likely be seen as just another moment of him acting out.

“When it comes to their children, they seem to have a good co-parenting relationship and are able to put their differences aside for the sake of their kids.” Louella concluded: “As long as Kanye respects their children’s well-being, it’s unlikely that this outburst will greatly affect their co-parenting relationship.”

North West isn’t afraid to share her opinion — even when mom Kim Kardashian’s feelings are on the line!

The 10-year-old posted an “honest makeup review” of her beauty mogul mother’s skincare line, SKKN BY KIM, on Saturday, which was entirely unprompted, according to Kardashian, 43.

In the review — a high-energy video shared on the mother-daughter duo’s joint TikTok account, @kimandnorth — the preteen gave her opinion of makeup products that the brand unveiled on Thursday, including lip liners, lipsticks and a matte eyeshadow palette.

The daughter of Kardashian and Kanye West began by adding swatches of each of the shadow shades on her arm and declaring that that the palette is “neutral,” which she likes — especially for a going-out or dinner look.

“This is classic Kim,” she noted. “Just classic.”

For her own eyes, however, North opted for a “dramatic” look, diving immediately into the palette’s darkest shade. “It is just eating up,” she said of the black eyeshadow, adding that it “left no crumbs.”

After a short dance and laugh break — one of many — the preteen then reviewed the lip products.

“This is so good,” she declared while applying the matte lipstick. “No words.”

Ultimately, the review was overwhelmingly positive — and very chaotic — prompting Kardashian to caption the post: “What my daughter does on my phone ha ha ha ha ha ha.”

One challenge of the North-approved makeup relaunch — which Kim’s fans have been waiting for since 2021, when she shut down KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance — is the reality star’s “perfectionist” mindset, she told PEOPLE earlier this month.

“I’m always trying to perfect little details when testing lab samples,” she said.

Elsewhere in her chat with PEOPLE, Kardashian said she is loving that she and North can bond over beauty together.

“It’s great to see how passionate she gets about it — she’s so skilled at special effects makeup,” she said of her eldest child. “And I love that this is what she is into right now.”
