GG Jackson Has A Savage Response After Being Told LeBron James Would “Lock Him Up”

    LeBron James

In his visit to a Memphis public school on Tuesday, Grizzlies forward GG Jackson set the record straight on his matchup against LeBron James. After being told that James would “lock him up” on the court, Jackson responded by reminding the kids that he dropped 31 points in their last matchup against the Lakers.

“A kid just walked up and told GG Jackson that LeBron James would lock him up,” wrote Grizzlies beat writer Damichael Cole. “His response? ‘I gave him 31, bro.’”

The game in question goes back to April 12, when LeBron and the Lakers came to Memphis in the final days of the season. In 40 minutes, Jackson dropped 31 points on the Lakers with 1 rebound and 1 assist. What Jackson didn’t mention, however, was that he allowed LeBron to score 37 points that night, and the Grizzlies ended up losing the game by three.

So while LeBron didn’t put the locks on Jackson, he still dominated on the other end and it was enough for the Lakers to pull out a much-needed win and secure their place in the play-in tournament. In fact, LeBron has had the Grizzlies’ number over the past few years.

He led the Lakers to a 3-1 record over the franchise this season and that doesn’t count the NBA playoffs in 2023, when they beat the Grizzlies in six games to advance to the Western Semi-Finals. In short, while GG Jackson can claim individual success against the King, the Grizzlies haven’t been so lucky. With James committed to playing a few more years in the NBA, it seems the Grizzlies are not yet done dealing with the Lakers and all that LeBron brings to the table.

For Jackson’s sake, he better hope that LeBron doesn’t hear his latest quote or he may look to enact revenge the next time they meet on the court.

The Memphis Grizzlies Are Ready For A Comeback

Despite the best efforts of guys like GG Jackson, Desmond Bane, and others, the Grizzlies didn’t have enough to compete for the playoffs this season. They opened the season with Ja Morant’s suspension and it got them into a pretty large hole early on. They lost their first six games and were 4-13 by mid-November. By the time that Morant returned after 25 games, the Grizzlies were near the bottom of the standings with a very slim chance of making the top six.

Unfortunately, Morant got hurt after just nine games with a shoulder injury and the Grizzlies ruled him out for the season not long after. They finished the season at 27-55, good enough for 13th in the West behind the Jazz, Rockets, and Golden State Warriors.

For now, as the playoffs roll into the final rounds, there is nothing for the Grizzlies to do but watch and wait patiently until their moment arrives. With Morant, Brandon Clarke, and Steven Adams all scheduled to make their return in October, they will once again be at full strength and they have confidence that their group can win it all if they stay healthy.

Obviously, the Grizzlies still have a lot to prove, and the basketball world will be watching to see if GG Jackson can back up his big talk about LeBron

LeBron James’ future with the Los Angeles Lakers will likely hinge on what moves the team makes this off-season, with none potentially more important than the drafting of Bronny James.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania told Pat McAfee on The Pat McAfee Show that James wants to play two more seasons, the Lakers want him back, and the team is interested in bringing his son into the organization during this year’s NBA Draft.

    LeBron James - Wikipedia

LeBron has repeatedly expressed his desire to play on the same team as his son but following the Lakers’ loss to the Nuggets in the first round for the NBA Playoffs, admitted that he cannot dictate Bronny’s future.

“The end of the day, the kid has to do what he wants to do. I don’t even want to say kid no more, the young man will decide what he wants to do and how he wants his career to go.”

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski added, “The idea of them playing together is not a priority, it’s not foremost, at least any longer, in LeBron James’ mind.”

Despite a change in priority for the game’s biggest star, the Lakers should still explore the possibility of using its second-round pick (No. 55 overall) to pick the second-generation player and enhance the likelihood that the team can retain LeBron for the remainder of his career.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that the Lakers want him back on “any term that he wants,” he said on the Rich Eisen Show. That could mean money, of which the Lakers can offer up to $164 million over three years. It could mean attacking the offseason with a sense of urgency that sees them pursue Trae Young of Atlanta or impending free agent Klay Thompson of Golden State.

Both are likely to be factors, but can be aided with the decision to bring Bronny on-board and ensure his father can finish out his career overseeing his development in the NBA.

Sure, the greatest of this generation may have lightened his stance on insisting on playing with his son but the fact that he mentioned it in the first place suggests it means a lot to him.

Bronny’s collegiate career faced hurdles from the get-go after the 18-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest attributed to a congenital heart defect. Upon recovery, he averaged 19.4 minutes a game with an average of 4.8 points in his freshman season with the USC Trojans.

Should the Lakers draft him, it would be with the understanding that there is considerable learning and development to be done, yet taking the steps to acquire him would be another piece of evidence that the organization are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure LeBron remains with it, continues to sell tickets to Crypto.com Arena, and chase another championship or two in the City of Angels.

On the court, such a move could ensure James brings his 25.7 points per game, 8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds, 54 percent shooting from the paint, and 41 percent from beyond the arc, back to a Lakers team desperately seeking another world title.

76ers want LeBron James. He wants another championship and has now decided his future.

The team led by Joel Embiid is looking for another star for the upcoming season, but it seems that will not be LeBron James.

LeBron James, considered by many as one of the greatest NBA player of all time, has a player option for one more season worth $51.4 million with the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2024-2025 season, which would be his seventh with the team.

However, there have been rumors that he might want to play alongside his son, Bronny James, a shooting guard at USC who is expected to be a second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The veteran won’t lack suitors. Even at 39 years old, James is one of the most sought-after players who could enter the market this summer. He has maintained his scoring level and remains one of the best defensive players in the game.

LEBRON WILL REFUSE PHILADELPHIA TO STAY IN L.A

There are reports suggesting that the Philadelphia 76ers might try to convince LeBron James not to activate his player option with the Lakers and switch teams.

Brian Windhorst, an ESPN journalist, said that James will ultimately stay with Los Angeles, either by playing the final season of his current contract or by signing a new two-year deal. “The Sixers are a threat, but I don’t think they’re a serious threat,” said the well-known sports commentator.

Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, stars of the 76ers, are looking for another key player to help them make a deep playoff run next season.

UST IN! NBA team to sign with Bronny James Before the NBA Draft. They want his father as well

The Lakers want to continue with LeBron James for one more season, but to do so, they must draft his son in the NBA Draft.

The Los Angeles Lakers know that one of the reasons to keep LeBron James in the franchise for the 2024-2025 season will be to draft his son, Bronny James, in the upcoming NBA Draft.

According to reports by Shams Charania and Doug Haller from The Athletic, the Lakers met with Bronny James and are expected to have a private workout with the former USC player.

The Lakers have the 17th and 55th picks in the first round. However, it is unclear if they will use those picks on a player who did not stand out in college, even though doing so might influence the veteran forward to exercise his one-year contract option.

    HOW GOOD IS BRONNY JAMES

Bronny’s stats at USC are not impressive. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. It’s important to note that he missed significant time early in the year due to a cardiac arrest he suffered in the summer.

However, the shooting guard has looked better in pre-draft workouts, showing a good mid-range and long-distance shot and being in good physical shape for the demands of the NBA.

This week, Bronny spoke about the pressure of being the son of one of the greatest players in history. “It’s tough,” Bronny admitted on SiriusXM NBA. “I get a lot of criticism. But, you know, I have to deal with it. We all know what I’ve been through. I’m just trying to make the most of the opportunities I’m given.”

Charles Barkley Shares an MJ story: ‘It was in this moment that I realized Michael Jordan was crazy’

Charles Barkley tells a story about the competitiveness of Michael Jordan from 1992 in an average match against Puerto Rico

There are plenty of stories about Michael Jordan’s fierce competitiveness.

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley recently shared one that ranks among the best. Speaking on the TNT “Steam Room” podcast, Barkley told a story from the 1992 Tournament of the Americas in Portland. It served as a warmup before the famous Dream Team headed to Barcelona for the Olympics.

Barkley played a round of golf with Jordan, David Robinson, and coach Chuck Daly. Jordan decided to play another round by himself despite having a game against Puerto Rico later that day.

“This is when I knew Michael Jordan was crazy,” Barkley said. “Michael is the most competitive person I’ve ever been around in my life.”

Before the game, Daly handed out defensive assignments. Barkley, Robinson, and Scottie Pippen all accepted theirs. When Daly tried to get Jordan to cover the Puerto Rican shooting guard, he refused because he wanted to defend the point guard.

“I said, ‘I got the point guard,’” Barkley recalled Jordan saying to Daly. “He said some [expletive] about me in the newspaper and I’m going to get him.” We’re looking around like, ‘This little kid is in trouble.’ It’s just amazing how he played 36 holes and he’s guarding this dude like it’s Game 7.”

The USA won that game 119-81, and Jordan didn’t let his opponent barely even take a shot, completely dominating him.

Rich Paul confirms: NO G League, and NO two-way contracts for Bronny Jr, only the NBA

Rich Paul confirms, no two-way contract for Bronny, and no G League, emphasizing a commitment to finding the right NBA fit for the highly debated prospect

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul firmly stated that his client, Bronny James, will not be signing a two-way contract, which typically allows players to split their time between an NBA team and a G-League team. Bronny, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, is one of the most talked-about prospects in the 2024 NBA draft class, though he isn’t expected to be a lottery pick.

Rich Paul addressed the intense media focus on Bronny’s draft prospects, acknowledging that such scrutiny is unavoidable due to his father’s iconic status in the NBA. “The road ahead won’t be easy,” Paul remarked, highlighting the immense expectations and criticism Bronny is likely to face. He praised Bronny’s character and resilience, emphasizing his maturity and self-awareness despite the heavy pressures surrounding him.

Rich Paul firmly rejected the notion that Bronny James is receiving opportunities solely because of his famous father, NBA legend LeBron James. “In America, nepotism is a given. No one questions Jim Dolan or Casey Wasserman,” Paul asserted, defending Bronny’s right to leverage his father’s legacy. He stressed that Bronny has earned his place through dedication and talent, not entitlement.

Paul Confident in Bronny James’ NBA Draft Potential, Dismisses G-League Option

Paul has expressed strong confidence in Bronny James’ potential as an NBA draft prospect. He acknowledged the varying opinions among teams, with some projecting Bronny to be selected anywhere from the 20th to the 50th pick, while others speculate he might go undrafted. Despite these differing views, Paul remains steadfast in his belief in Bronny’s talent, athleticism, and character, which he believes will make Bronny a valuable addition to any NBA team.

Paul made it clear that Bronny will not be considering a two-way contract, emphasizing his determination to secure the right NBA fit for him. “Teams are aware of our stance. I’m not entertaining that option,” Paul stated firmly.

Just before the game, it was discovered that Michael Jordan’s iconic number 23 jersey had been stolen from the visitor’s locker room. Despite a frantic search, the jersey could not be found in time for the game. As a result, the Bulls had to come up with an alternative solution.

The team provided Jordan with a spare jersey, which was number 12 and had no name on the back. Despite the unexpected change, Jordan remained unfazed. True to his competitive spirit and determination, he went on to deliver a spectacular performance, scoring 49 points against the Magic.

The gravity of such allegations, if substantiated, could have far-reaching implications for James’ reputation, career, and legacy in the world of basketball.

It’s important to note that, as of now, there is no concrete evidence to support Patrick Bet-David’s claims regarding LeBron James’ alleged steroid use. Without substantiated evidence or official confirmation, these allegations remain speculative and subject to scrutiny.

Accusations of steroid use can have significant repercussions for an athlete’s reputation and public image, tarnishing their legacy and casting doubt on their achievements. NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers Turn Down ‘Big 3’ Offer Despite LeBron James’s Push for Third Star

The Los Angeles Lakers appear to have shifted their stance on pursuing a third star alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, there are voices within the Lakers organization advocating for a focus on building depth rather than chasing another superstar.

Lakers News: Warriors Made A Trade Offer For LeBron James At Trade Deadline

Buha mentioned on The Athletic NBA Show (at the 20-minute mark) that there has been recent resistance from the Lakers regarding the strategy of assembling a three-star lineup. However, he noted that LeBron James is likely to have significant influence over the final decision.

Buha also highlighted that LeBron has been a consistent advocate for the Lakers to pursue a third star through trades.

The path for the Lakers to secure a third star has become less clear compared to earlier in the season. D’Angelo Russell, who seemed like a potential target, is likely to explore free agency, necessitating a sign-and-trade for any superstar acquisition.

Such a move would involve packaging Russell with veteran contracts for salary-matching, potentially compromising the Lakers’ future draft-pick flexibility. Given the circumstances, it’s reasonable for the Lakers to hesitate. LeBron James is nearing 40, and Anthony Davis, while still in his prime, has a history of injuries and hasn’t proven himself as a solo championship leader.

Balancing immediate championship aspirations with long-term franchise health is crucial. Sacrificing assets for a short-term championship run with an aging James and injury-prone Davis carries significant risk. Opting for a middle-ground approach, focusing on roster and coaching staff adjustments around Davis and James for the upcoming season, may yield better long-term results, despite potentially lengthening the odds of a title in the near future.

LeBron James could end up ditching Lakers for an Eastern Conference powerhouse this offseason

Reports suggest that Embiid’s Philadelphia 76ers could be a real option for King James this summer, especially with new Bronny updates in the mix.

Following a disappointing first-round exit in the NBA Playoffs and a fourth consecutive season without securing a championship, LeBron James’ tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers is shrouded in uncertainty.

Despite his age, 39-year-old James remains a top performer, yet there’s a clear need for the Lakers to strengthen their roster. Furthermore, James’ alignment with Lakers’ head coach Darvin Ham appears strained, though Ham is expected to return next season.

Could LeBron James join the Philadelphia 76ers?

Speculation about James’ potential departure has intensified, with the Philadelphia 76ers emerging as a rumored destination. While definitive reports from top-tier sources are scarce, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer mentioned that Sixers’ GM Daryl Morey had previously attempted to acquire James before the trade deadline, signaling a strong interest in him if he were to become available.

The prospect of James teaming up with Joel Embiid at Philadelphia would create a highly compelling team dynamic, especially with the addition of Tyrese Maxey, who has been outstanding in the playoffs. The Sixers, coached by the esteemed Nick Nurse—who led the Toronto Raptors to an NBA Championship in 2019—present an attractive option for James, potentially influencing his decision.
