The Boston Celtics are fresh off an NBA championship victory, but the league is always talking about Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. The NBA veteran takes up sports conversations, whether someone is talking about Olympic swimming or the fencing world championship. He’s always at the top of any sports debate.
This comes with praise for James when individuals give credit to his greatness and longevity, but it also comes with major backlash. James was trending on X after the Celtics secured a 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 to secure their 18th NBA title, the most by one franchise in NBA history.
Some fans blame James for the Celtics’ win, while others predict he’ll leave in the offseason to chase a title with another franchise.

James has been the most scrutinized player in the NBA for over a decade. He’s received major heat in his career, whether it’s how he won his rings, where he won his rings, or how many times he’s lost in the Finals.
At 39 years old, James is at the tail end of his career, but he has been adamant that he’s still looking to add to his accolades. That’s certainly a necessity now since the Lakers’ biggest rival stands at the top of the league in terms of title trophies.
It’s going to be a difficult road with teams like the Celtics in the way, but it’s been known for years that you can’t bet against an all-time great like James.
Ok, anyway, LeBron James is going to be a Maverick in two weeks

Now if you are a Laker fan, you might want to mute LeBron James immediately following the game, mainly because we all know he will heap praise on his buddies on the Celtics, and that might be salt on a wound for you here. pic.twitter.com/1yhmVukffG

#Banner18 > Mickie Mouse Bubble Ring, and In season Tournament. Keep that same energy Lebron James. The Lakers are old and are done while the #Celtics are starting a dynasty. #CryAboutIt #Lakers. #NBAFinals
