Brave Kansas City Chiefs fans tackled a suspected gunmen today as he attempted to flee cops after a shooting at the Super Bowl parade, new video has revealed.
Three gunmen opened fire inside Union Station moments after the team including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes left the stage on what should have been a triumphant day for the city following the Chiefs victory in Las Vegas on Sunday.
At least one person was killed and 29 others were injured as fans, including young children, ran from the gunfire. Unconfirmed reports stated that some of the casualties were rushed to nearby Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Amid the terror, a heroic group of men were seen taking down one of the suspected perpetrators. They hauled the alleged gunman to the ground and then shouted ‘we got the gun.’ The men held down the suspect until cops arrived to detain him.
The identities of the three gunmen have not yet been confirmed and no motive has been given for the attack. One of those detained was pictured in a red hoodie sitting on a curb with his hands cuffed behind his back.
It came just moments after superstars including the quarterback, Mahomes, greeted fans following the team’s historic 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The team were on buses returning to Arrowhead Stadium when the shooting started.
A heartbroken Mahomes later took to social media offering his condolences. ‘Praying for Kansas City,’ he wrote.
The White House said in a statement: ‘The President has been briefed on the shooting in Kansas City and will continue to receive updates.
‘White House officials have been in touch with state and local leaders, and federal law enforcement is on the scene supporting local law enforcement.’

‘Pray that doctors & first responders would have steady hands & that all would experience full healing.’
Kansas City Fire reportedly said that of those injured, five were ‘serious’, three were ‘critical’, and one person has non-life-threatening injuries.
Kansas City Police Department chief Stacey Graves said at a press conference: ‘At the conclusion of the Chiefs’ rally today, there were shots fired on the west side of Union Station.
‘Immediately, officers responded to the area, took two people into custody and also immediately rendered life-sustaining aid to those victims.
‘We’re still gathering information on the number and the status of victims. We know that one of the victims is deceased.
‘Right now, we have up to 10 to 15 injured. We do not have an exact number of people who were victims of a gunshot wound.
During the press conference, it was announced that the Kansas City Chiefs had confirmed all their players, coaches and staff were safe and accounted for.
Chiefs players and staff were celebrating beating the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Sunday to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions in 19 years.
Offensive lineman Trey Smith thanked first responders, adding: ‘You’re the ones who should be celebrated today.’

Witnesses described terrifying scenes as the family occasion descended into nightmarish scenes.
Gabe Wallace, a sophomore at local Shawnee Mission East, told the Kansas City Star that he was quickly separated from his friends as the carnage unfolded.
He said his only thoughts were ‘my friends are dead’, and said coach Andy Reid comforted him.
Rick Burkholder, a staffer for the Kansas City Chiefs team, said shortly after that Coach Reid was rushed to safety, and he and his family were ‘safe and on a bus headed to Arrowhead.’
Missouri is an open carry state and it is possible that numerous fans in the crowd were also carrying firearms.
The shooting unfolded on the sixth anniversary of the Parkland shooting, when 17 people were killed and 17 others were injured.
It marks the 48th mass shooting of the year so far, only into its second month.
