Bronny James’ rookie year might not go the way most expect it to.

The Los Angeles Lakers drafted the 19-year-old as the 55th overall pick last month and have since signed him to a curious four-year contract worth $7.9 million, with three years guaranteed.

There’s been some outrage online because Bronny is a second-round pick who’s gotten a one-way deal, but he might not actually be with the Lakers next season—well, at least not these Lakers.

Bronny James Could End Up In The G League

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the former USC guard might spend his rookie year with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, although he is likely to take to the court with his father for the first week of the campaign just for show.

“Well, what the Lakers’ expectations are is that he’ll largely be a G League player like almost any 19-year-old player coming into the league drafted in the second round,” Woj explained during an appearance on ESPN. “I think what you’ll ultimately probably see is Bronny James in the first week of the season on the court with his father, in a very…I don’t want to call it ceremonial but the eyes of the world will be on that.

“They’ll do that the first week of the season, but there’s no expectation Bronny James is going to be in the Lakers’ rotation. He’ll spend a lot of his time playing with their G League team which shares a practice facility with the Lakers.

LeBron James Might Not Approve A G League Move, However

Paying a player that much money to play in the G League is bizarre, but you do have that kind of pull when you’re LeBron James’ kid.

Then again, LBJ’s influence might make it so that his son never even sees the G League.

    Time will tell.

t’s inevitable that with NFL success comes fame and fortune. However, not everybody is comfortable with that kind of sacrifice, and others have no choice at all.

Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL and is perhaps the most recognizable star the league has had since Tom Brady was in his final years in Tampa Bay.

As such, Patrick Mahomes and his family can barely lift a finger without it becoming headline news.

This doesn’t even just impact Mahomes’ immediate family, with even his parents and brother being thrust into the spotlight, although his brother has been far more appreciative of that than his mother, Randi.

What did Patrick Mahomes’ mother say?

Randi Mahomes revealed her longing for a regular life during an appearance on The Mom Game podcast in June.

“I look at some of my friends on social media and I’m jealous that they have this normal life,” she explained.

“Their kids are the same age as Patrick (28) and Jackson (24), and they have this normal situation and we don’t. It’s super difficult.”

Randi, 48, shares her sons with her ex-husband and former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes Sr., and she is also the mother to 12-year-old Mia Randall from a different relationship.

    Randi
has worked as an event planner for 20 years, and while she remains passionate about her career, her sons’ high-profile lifestyles have complicated things.

“We just want to be normal and go and have dinner. We don’t do that. At my work, it’s really hard because 90 percent of my phone calls aren’t about work. I still go to work and want to live normal,” she continued.

“As much as I say we’re blessed and Patrick’s living his dream, it has been the hardest seven years of my adult life.

“It’s been really hard to juggle…being proud of him and the hate that you get and the kids get. I can’t even explain how hard it’s been. I’ve cried a lot. I struggle with it.”

  • Taylor Swift Says Living a Happy, Successful, and Meaningful Life Comes Down to 5 Simple Things

Taylor Swift Says Living a Happy, Successful, and Meaningful Life Comes Down to 5 Simple Things

    Taylor Swift.

Here’s her advice on balancing success and happiness, the importance of kindness, the power of solitude, setting goals, and giving advice.

Taylor Swift is worth somewhere between $700 and $800 million; in terms of entrepreneurial success, that’s rare air.

But then there’s this: as ESPN’s Wright Thompson once told me, Swift might be the most incredible person in American life.

    As Thompson said:

She experienced global, nuclear success at a young age. And she’s continued to be incredibly successful.

Yet she never had that “teen star” meltdown. Her success is amazing … but even more incredible is that she’s mature, well-rounded, and happy. That accomplishment is truly staggering.

Swift’s perspectives underpinning that level of success and happiness? Here are five of my favorites.

    Taylor Swift on Happiness

Success in business — and in life — means different things to different people. “Success” should mean different things to different people. Whether or not you feel successful depends on how you define success, and on the tradeoffs you are willing to not just accept but embrace as you pursue your definition of success.

Even so, the best way to define success is to ask yourself a simple question: “How happy am I?” How successful you are — more important, how successful you feel — is based solely on the answer to that question.

    As Swift says:

I have this really high priority on happiness, and finding something to be happy about.

My ultimate goal is to end up being happy, most of the time.

Sound impossible? Think about it this way. Compartmentalize all you want, but no single aspect of your life can truly be separated from the others. Business success, family and friends, personal pursuits — since each is a permanent part of the whole, putting more focus on one area automatically reduces the focus on another area.

Want to make more money? You can, but something else has to give.

Want more time with family? Want to help others? Want to pursue a hobby? You can, but in each case, something else has to give.

What motivates you? What do you want to achieve for yourself and your family? What do you value most, spiritually, emotionally, and materially? That’s what will make you happy — and if you aren’t doing it, you won’t be happy.

Defining what “success” means to you is important, but taking a clear-eyed look at the impact of your definition matters even more. As in most things, your intention is important, but the results provide the real answer.

Ask yourself if you’re happy. If you are, you’re successful. The happier you are, the more successful you are.

And if you aren’t happy? It’s time to make some changes.

    Taylor Swift on Kindness

Jeff Bezos says while cleverness is a gift, kindness is a choice. Mark Cuban says one of the most underrated skills in business is being nice.

    As for Swift?

No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.

You can choose to include rather than exclude. You can choose to build people up rather than tear them down. You can give before you receive, knowing you may never receive. You can shift the spotlight to other people. You can listen more than you talk.

You can choose to be nice — not because you’re expected to, but simply because you can.

Start being nicer, and you’ll be a lot more likely to get what you want, especially over the long term. And a lot more likely to build better professional and personal relationships.

Taylor Swift on the Power of Solitude

Research shows people who socialize more tend to be happier. Makes sense: relationships, friendships, connections, spending time with people we enjoy… those things tend to make us happier.

But that’s not completely true if you’re highly intelligent; the same study found that the more people in the study who were higly intelligent socialized, the less happy they became.

    As Swift says:

I am alone a lot, which is good. I need that time to just be alone after a long day, to just decompress.

Why? One theory is aspirational: the smarter you are, possibly the more focused you will be on longer-term goals — which means spending too much time socializing can be distracting instead of helpful. (In short, if you’re always hanging out with people, you aren’t getting stuff done.)

That’s just one study, though, and may only be directionally accurate. Plus, the relationship between intelligence and the desire for “alone time” doesn’t necessarily work in reverse. I’m a prime example: I like time alone, but I’m not particularly bright.

But in your case, if you like to spend time alone working on a project, learning something new, developing your business plan, or grinding away on the things you need to do achieve your goals… don’t assume you’re a loner.

And definitely don’t assume you’re antisocial. There could be a much better answer.

You might just be smarter than the rest of us.

    Taylor Swift on Giving Advice

Jeff Bezos’s boss at a hedge fund tried to discourage him from resigning to start Amazon, saying his idea was “probably a better idea for someone who doesn’t have a good job.” Roy Disney, Walt Disney’s brother and business partner, tried to talk him out of making Snow White. Warren Buffett’s father told him it was a bad time to enter the securities industry.

Granted, I’m cherry-picking examples. But still. As Swift says:

I never give advice unless someone asks me for it.

One thing I’ve learned, and possibly the only advice I have to give, is to not be that person giving out unsolicited advice based on your own personal experience.

Even when asked for advice, who are we to tell anyone what to do? We’re us. We’re not them.

What we can do, though, is help the people who ask for advice work through the process of making the right decision for them.

The next time you’re tempted to offer unsolicited advice, resist the temptation. If you’re asked for advice, don’t tell that person what to do. And definitely don’t say what you would do.

Instead, try to help that person find the right questions to ask themselves.

Because no matter how smart or experience we might like to think we are… their answers are the only answers that matter.

    Taylor Swift on Goals

While nearly everyone has at least one major goal they want to achieve, statistics show very few people actually achieve that goal.

In part, that’s because most of our limits are self-imposed. We can always do more than we think. Navy SEALs call it the 40 percent rule: when you think you’re done, when your mind says you’re exhausted, fried, and totally tapped out, you still have 60 percent left in your tank.

Yet your emotions — in this case, your emotional response to the fatigue, effort, or mental challenges you normally don’t face — get the best of you. Change is hard. Adding something new to an already packed schedule is hard. Those first few days of trying to create a minimum viable product, or cold-calling in search of an enabling customer, or training for a marathon, or embarking on any difficult long-term journey towards a major goal?

    They’re hard.

Especially if you look too far ahead.

    Swift’s approach?

As soon as I accomplish one goal, I replace it with another one.

I try not to get too far ahead of myself. I just say to myself, ‘All right, I’d like to headline a tour,’ and then when I get there, I’ll see what my next goal is.

But what if you struggle to get started with your first goal? Try embracing the Two-Week Rule. Pick a goal. Pick something you feel you want to achieve. Create a daily process or routine you will follow.

Then commit to following that routine for two weeks. For each of the next 14 days, keep your head down and focus solely on what you need to do that day. Not next week. Not next month. Not next year.

    Just that day.

At the end of two weeks, you’ll know whether you want to keep going. You’ll know whether the goal you chose means something to you, or was just a whim. (Either outcome is fine; “wasting” two weeks only to find out you don’t want to run a marathon is better than spending the next 20 years feeling like a failure because you still think you want to… but haven’t.)

If you decide to keep going, the two weeks you put in will make it much more likely you’ll stay the course over the long term. Partly because of the improvement you’ve made — improving is always fun, and we all like to do things we’re good at — and because your emotions will start to work for you, not against you.

The pride you’ll feel in having stayed the course will help fuel future effort. The fulfillment you’ll gain from doing something most people can’t will do wonders for your confidence. The knowledge that you can achieve more than you ever dreamed possible will inspire you to reach even farther.

Pick one goal, and commit to two weeks. If you can’t do something for two weeks, the goal didn’t mean enough to you.

But if you can do it for two weeks, then the odds are good you can, with time and effort, achieve what you really want to achieve.

And then you can decide what your next goal should be.

Jason‘s recent retirement means Travis is the sole remaining Kelce in the NFL

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are the power couple of 2024. Despite hectic schedules — Swift with recording and touring, Kelce with his NFL commitments — the two often find time to get together, even if they have to cross the Atlantic Ocean to reunite.

In light of Travis‘ shocking appearance onstage at one of Taylor‘s Eras Tour shows in London, Travis’ older brother Jason has endeared himself to Swifties by supporting the couple as they approach the one-year milestone in their romance.

At an event hosted by his former team, the Philadelphia EaglesJason Kelce revealed that Travis’ life has changed amid his ongoing romance with the superstar singer-songwriter Swift — and he couldn’t be happier for the pair.

“We just want to be supportive of him and their relationship and everything that they’ve got going on because it’s so wonderful right now,” Jason said at Wednesday’s Eagles Autism Foundation event.

Earlier this spring, Jason retired from the NFL after 13 stellar seasons with the Eagles. A frequent All-Pro selection and a Super Bowl champion during his career, Jason is sure to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in a few years’ time — and Travis will someday join him, when he retires from playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

But before any of that happens, the relationship between Travis and Taylor will continue to deepen — if Travis’ onstage appearance at Wembley Stadium is any indication of his importance to the “Lover” singer.

“We were over in London at those concerts, and Taylor, what she has accomplished not just in that short period of time, but over the course of her career, is truly remarkable,” Jason told reporters on Wednesday.

Taylor Swift — who is famous for her 4th of July gatherings — celebrated the American holiday abroad this year.

Taylor Swift is still Miss Americana, even from 3,500 miles away.

On Thursday, the 34-year-old singer celebrated the 4th of July during her Eras Tour stop in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as she continued on the European leg of the nearly two-year-long worldwide endeavor.

Swift took the stage at the Johan Cruijff ArenA  in front of a packed crowd, performing the sweeping journey through the biggest hits of her career, complete with impressive choreography, stunning sets and epic costume changes.

She even thrilled fans by bringing back the purple folklore dress and debuting a new outfit for her 1989 era: a sparking blue top and red-orange skirt — perhaps in celebration of the holiday?

The celebration of the United States’ independence comes a full year after Swift marked the holiday by welcoming her friends for an epic weekend at her coastal home in Rhode Island, a staple of Swift’s 4th of July parties.

Prior to 2023’s gathering, Swift held her last public Independence Day blowout in 2016 when her then-beau Tom Hiddleston famously wore an “I Heart T.S.” shirt. Over the years, she hosted a laundry list of celebrities before the parties abruptly ended in 2017.

“Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies 😎,” Swift wrote in a caption last July, sharing pics with Selena Gomez and Haim band members Alana Haim, Este Haim and Danielle Haim, as well as stylist Ashley Avignone and model Sydney Ness.

Just months before, ET exclusively confirmed that the singer had split from her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn. She concluded her 4th of July post las year, writing, “See you tonight Kansas Cityyy.”

In retrospect, that caption reeks with irony as it was that exact concert at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium — the home of the Chiefs — where Swift’s now boyfriend, Travis Kelce, first witnessed her perform and attempted to give her his phone number via a friendship bracelet.

Flash forward a year later and the pair have become one of the hottest couples around with the 34-year-old tight end recently making his on-stage debut at the Eras Tour in London and appearing at countless concerts in support of his girlfriend around the world.

Just last week, a source told ET about how the “So High School” crooner and her NFL star boyfriend pulled off his surprise appearance at Wembley Stadium and how the experience bonded them as a couple.

“It was definitely a new, defining point in their relationship and they had a blast getting the chance to [share] a personal side of themselves with the world,” a source shared. “They are so happy with how everything turned out and loved seeing all the fan reactions.”

The source added, “It was a very special experience for them and also hints at what their future might hold together.”

Why did Tyreek Hill choose the Miami Dolphins as his destination upon leaving Kansas City?

    Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill’s departure from the Kansas City Chiefs was an event of huge importance at the time. Nobody could quite believe that the Chiefs were getting rid of Patrick Mahomes’ best receiver.

Many thought there had to have been some kind of problem behind the scenes, and some even speculated that Hill’s departure could spell the end of the Chiefs’ excellent on-field success to that point.

What surprised even more people was his choice of destination, the Miami Dolphins. Known throughout the NFL as one of the league’s worst teams of the current millennium, many felt Hill was merely signing with the Miami franchise for money.

However, a few short years later and it’s clear that Miami had a plan in trading for Tyreek Hill and they now boast one of the most exciting offenses in all of football.

How did Hill end up in Miami?

On The Dive Bar Podcast, Hill revealed the emotional rollercoaster of the trade talks.

While many thought he wanted the security of being the highest-paid receiver, it turns out his childhood fandom played a significant role.

“You can even ask my friends, whenever we played Madden, I used to trade myself to the Dolphins off the Chiefs,” Hill declared to the Dive Bar Podcast.

Initially, Hill was open to staying with the Chiefs.

“We had our conversations about ‘oh, we’re gonna try to bring you back’,” he revealed.

However, when Miami made a massive offer, Hill couldn’t pass up the chance to become the league’s highest-paid receiver.

“I had no choice; you know what I’m saying,” the 30-year-old admitted.

Despite some fans questioning Hill’s move from Patrick Mahomes’ precision throws to Tua Tagovailoa’s developing arm, Hill has thrived with the Dolphins, posting career-best stats.

“The rest is history,” he explained.

On his new podcast, It Needed To Be Said, Hill revealed that he tried everything to stay with the Chiefs, even suggesting a contract well below his eventual deal with Miami.

“I ain’t even gotta be the highest-paid, for real,” Hill explained.

“I just wanted a realistic position for me and my family.”

Hill was looking for a contract averaging 25-26 million dollars annually, but the Chiefs’ offer wasn’t close in guaranteed money.

Despite head coach Andy Reid expressing his love for Hill, the Chiefs couldn’t match his financial expectations. The Chiefs opted to trade Hill for draft picks to strengthen their roster, while Hill signed for Miami on a four-year, $120 million deal with $72.2 million of that guaranteed.

Travis and Jason Kelce Announce Hiatus From ‘New Heights’ Podcast as Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp Looms

Travis and Jason Kelce’s popular podcast is taking a break as Travis will soon begin training camp.

Travis and Jason Kelce’s popular podcast, New Heights, is going on a brief hiatus.

The lovable brothers shared the news during Wednesday’s season 2 finale episode. As to the reason behind their hiatus, that’s simple — Travis will soon begin training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions.

“We got a nice couple months off from podcasting because, I guess, in three weeks time Travis will be in the middle of training camp,” Jason kicked off the show. “And let me tell you, not enough time to do a podcast, especially the best podcast in the world. He’s gonna be busy focusing on football, getting in shape for this upcoming season. So we’re gonna be off for about two months.”

As for when the duo will pick things back up, Travis offered a clue.

“I’m down to pick it up once we’re done with training camp,” he said.

Jason added that after consulting with the podcast’s producer, the end of August could be a possibility.

In any event, the Chiefs kick off training camp on July 21. Their first preseason game is slated for Aug. 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, followed by two more preseason games against the Detroit Lions (Aug. 17) and Chicago Bears (Aug. 22) before officially beginning their 2024 regular season against the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the AFC Championship Game on Sept. 5 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

In the meantime, Jason teased that fans should keep an eye on the podcast’s social media channels because they’ll be updating them and possibly drop never-before-seen footage of the show.

“That’s terrifying if you ask me,” Travis quipped. “But should be entertainment, nonetheless.”

By the way, it’s quite possible that the first two days of Chiefs training camp (July 21 and July 22) will be a madhouse, as the full team will be made available to provide fans with autographs. Meaning, if Swifties are reading this, there’s a good chance they’ll get to nab an autograph from Taylor Swift’s boyfriend. After those dates, position groups are made available to sign autographs on different practice dates. The full team will be made available for fan autographs again on July 27 before Travis’ position group (wide receivers and tight ends) is slated to be made available on July 28.

And while Travis is gearing up for training camp, Jason is preparing to join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown after retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year.

During the season 2 finale of the New Heights podcast, Travis also reacted to meeting Julia Roberts at Taylor’s Eras Tour show in Dublin, Ireland. Travis’ reaction with the 56-year-old Oscar winner went viral, and he and Jason discussed the sweet moment.

“Dude, you just took a photo with Julia Roberts,” Jason exclaimed.

Laughing, Travis responded, “I wish I would have got one with Julia!”

He went on to confirm the encounter, saying, “Yeah, I met Julia Roberts in Ireland, in Dublin, that was pretty cool. She’s awesome. Her and Stevie Nicks were in there having some fun.”

Travis Kelce hints at playing for a London NFL Team

Imagine the NFL making a bold move across the Atlantic to London. While many players might hesitate at the idea, there’s one star who’s ready to dive in headfirst: Travis Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end recently shared his enthusiasm for the possibility, revealing his willingness to join a London-based team if it meant playing overseas.

Kelce’s fascination with London isn’t just talk. He recently spent time in the UK with his brother, Jason, and was captivated by the experience, particularly the massive Taylor Swift concerts they attended at Wembley Stadium. Standing in front of a crowd of 90,000, Kelce even made a memorable appearance on stage, clearly enchanted by the energy of the British fans.

For over a decade, whispers about an NFL team in London have circulated, but the reality remains elusive. Kelce suggested that it might happen within the next ten years. However, with his 35th birthday approaching in October, he knows the clock is ticking if he hopes to be part of such a groundbreaking expansion.

The logistics of establishing a full-time NFL presence in London are daunting. While the Jacksonville Jaguars have played regular games there, solidifying their brand overseas, they recently renewed their commitment to Jacksonville, making a full relocation unlikely. Without expanding the league, finding a team willing to make the permanent leap remains a significant hurdle.

The NFL’s ongoing flirtation with the idea of a London team serves to stoke excitement among international fans. It’s a strategic move that keeps the global audience engaged, even if the practicalities of such a shift remain complex. The league’s hints and teases might eventually lose their allure if no concrete steps are taken.

For now, Travis Kelce’s dream of playing in London remains just that-a dream. But if there’s one thing we know about Kelce, it’s that he thrives on big moments and bold moves.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kanye West agrees with Kim Kardashian West that they should have joint custody of their four children and neither of them need spousal support, according to new divorce documents.

West’s attorneys filed his response Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court to Kardashian West’s divorce filing seven weeks earlier, which began the process of ending their 6 1/2-year marriage.

West’s filing was virtually identical to Kardashian West’s original petition, agreeing that the marriage should end over irreconcilable differences, and that the two should share custody of their children: North, age 7, Saint, age 5, Chicago, age 3, and Psalm, who turns 2 next month.

And like Kardashian West’s filing, West’s asks that the court’s right to award spousal support to either person be terminated.

According to Kardashian West’s Feb. 19 petition, the two have a pre-nuptial agreement, and under it they kept their property separate throughout their marriage.

The divorce filings bring an impending end to one of the most followed celebrity unions in recent decades, between the 40-year-old reality TV superstar Kardashian West, and the 43-year-old rap and fashion mogul West.

It was the first marriage for West and the third for Kardashian West, who has not asked the court to change her name back to just Kardashian, though she may still do so during the divorce process.

Taylor Swift has plenty of songs about feminism – and her ‘f*** the patriarchy’ attitude appears to have struck a nerve with a conservative journalist.

John Mac Ghlionn was slammed for his article accusing Swift – whose Eras Tour is the highest-grossing concert tour of all time – of being a bad influence on young girls.

In the Newsweek piece titled Taylor Swift Is Not a Good Role Model, Ghilonn claimed the songstress was setting a poor example as she’s ’34, unmarried and childless’ – failing to call out her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, for being the same.

The op-ed writer penned the piece last week to ‘offer some pushback’ on the Taylor-mania that has swept the globe – and has been swiftly ridiculed for his ‘1950s misogynistic’ views.

In his piece, he claimed despite the popstar’s ‘talent for sparking conversations, driving engagement, and raking in profits is commendable,’ she is not a good role model for young girls.

‘This is not an attack on Swift; it’s a valid question that is worth asking.’

Ghilionn did not comment on the fact that Swift’s boyfriend Kelce is also unmarried and 34 – which was immediately noticed by furious readers.

Branded an ‘incel misogynist coward’ by some readers, irate users took to X, previously known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.

‘What the actual f*** is this misogynistic claptrap from @Newsweek?! Taylor Swift isn’t a role model because she’s “unmarried and childless”, what the hell? Written by a man, of course, but you should be ashamed to have published this vacuous nonsense,’ one person wrote.

‘No man has ever been chastised in the media for being a “bad role model for boys” because he was “34, unmarried and childless,”‘ another commented.

Someone else wrote: ‘Young girls do not need to aspire to marriage and children. I personally have no interest in Taylor Swift but there are worse role models than someone who evidently works hard and is financially independent and also made huge donations towards food banks.’

A fourth chimed in: ‘This man clearly doesn’t understand patriarchy. Man mansplaining feminism, patriarchy and who is and is not a female role model.’

Despite heavy backlash, some users praised Ghlionn for sharing his brash views.

‘It is a point of view. Everyone is allowed to have one. I wouldn’t want a daughter seeking out hollow fame personally. Money and adoration of the masses tend to be cold comfort in later life,’ one user wrote.

‘Personally, I absolutely love how triggered all the woke feminazis are by this,’ another snarked.

‘If there’s nothing wrong with being unmarried and childless, what are you all so angry about?’

Ghlionn has since deleted his X account.
