Michael Jordan has played on basketball courts and baseball diamonds across his professional career. Now, he’ll be on the racetrack … sort of.

Jordan’s Jumpman logo will be featured on Tyler Reddick’s NASCAR vehicle for the Chicago Street Race, which is set to start at 4:30 p.m. ET Sunday.

Reddick’s car will feature a slightly different Jumpman logo design, however. A depiction of a young Jordan in the same pose will take the place of the silhouette. It’ll be on the hood and side of the car.

The car, No. 45, will be painted purple with a hint of yellow to give a sunset vibe to the vehicle for the Grant Park 165.

While Jordan won’t be driving the car himself, he’ll be taking on the NASCAR Cup Series in a unique way this weekend. The Sporting News explains why the NBA Hall of Famer is featured on Reddick’s vehicle.

Why is the Jordan logo on Tyler Reddick’s NASCAR vehicle?

Jordan was well known for his majority ownership of the Charlotte Hornets before selling his stake in 2023. He’s less known for owning 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The NBA legend co-owns the team with current driver Denny Hamlin.

Reddick, who drives No. 45, is a part of the 23XI Racing team along with Bubba Wallace, who drives No. 23. Jordan wore both numbers during his NBA career.

The No. 45 car will have the special Jumpman design on it as the NASCAR Cup Series hits Chicago — the city for which Jordan won six NBA championships.

It’s not the first time a 23XI car has had a special Jordan branding. Kurt Busch, who formerly drove No. 45, had a custom design on his car in 2022 for the AdventHealth 400 in Kansas City.

“He’s gonna be busy focusing on football,” Jason Kelce revealed about his brother during the latest episode of their ‘New Heights’ podcast

Speaking during the latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce released on Wednesday, July 3, Jason, 36, revealed that the brothers are taking two months off from recording their award-winning podcast so Travis, 34, can get back to doing what he does best.

“It’s the end of season 2, which I don’t even know what seasons mean, we just do this show. All that means to us is we’ve got a nice couple of months off from podcasting because, I guess, in three weeks’ time Travis will be in the middle of training camp,” Jason said.

“Yeah, literally,” added Travis.

“And let me tell you, not enough time to do a podcast, especially the best podcast in the world,” continued Jason, adding of his younger brother, “He’s gonna be busy focusing on football, getting in shape for this upcoming season. So we’re gonna be off for about two months.”

“I’m down to pick it up once we’re done with training camp,” noted Travis, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

“So I think we’re going to start this up once Travis gets out of training camp,” Jason added, saying that the show will potentially start again at the end of August.

Travis and Jason debuted their podcast in September 2022.

Since then they’ve covered everything from family life, to NFL singings, their favorite movies, the Super Bowl and Travis supporting his girlfriend Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour — including his stage debut in London on June 23.

The podcast has also become award-winning, with the weekly recording picking up podcast of the year at the 2024 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards in March.

In April, Travis signed a new two-year contract extension with the Chiefs. The deal is worth more than $17 million a year, making him the highest paid tight end in the league, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

The month before, Jason emotionally announced his retirement after 13 years of playing in the NFL. He’s since been revealed as ESPN’s new Monday Night Countdown commentator.

Speaking about his new gig in May, Jason said, “I feel incredible. I know what it takes to be great — it takes a great team. I am more than psyched to participate in all the shenanigans that’ll take place this season.”

“I have three wonderful daughters, and my wife Kylie and I, we’ll be taking full advantage [of working for Disney],” he added.

Rapper and singer Sean Kingston is back in South Florida, where he and his mother are charged with committing more than a million dollars’ worth of fraud.

Kingston, 34, was booked into the Broward County jail on Sunday, according to jail records. He was arrested May 23 at Fort Irwin, an Army training base in California’s Mojave Desert where he was performing. Last week, he waived his right to fight extradition in a California court and agreed to be turned over to authorities in Florida.

Kingston’s mother, 61-year-old Janice Turner, was arrested the same day as her son, when a SWAT team raided his rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Kingston and Turner have been charged with conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft and related crimes, according to arrest warrants released by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. The warrants allege they stole money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade and furniture.

The Jamaican American performer had a No. 1 hit with “Beautiful Girls” in 2007 and collaborated with Justin Bieber on the song “Eenie Meenie.”

Robert Rosenblatt, an attorney for Kingston and his mother, previously said they looked forward to addressing the charges in a Florida court and “are confident of a successful resolution.”

The warrants in the case say that from October to March they stole almost $500,000 in jewelry, more than $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from the Escalade dealer, more than $100,000 from First Republic Bank and $86,000 from the maker of customized beds. Specifics were not given.

Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, was already serving a two-year probation sentence for trafficking stolen property.

His mother pleaded guilty in 2006 to bank fraud for stealing over $160,000 and served nearly 1.5 years in prison, according to federal court records.

If Kelce had done it, there’s a good chance (given everything that happened last year), that he would have become Bruce Springsteen and the rest of the bunch would have been the E Street Band. Or maybe it would have been all about Kelce and only Kelce.

This choice to remain in the stands during the performance has puzzled fans, given that Bieber arrived in Las Vegas on Saturday (10 Feb), suggesting he would be appearing in the halftime spectacle.

Usher, who is known for hits including “Yeah!”, “OMG” and “You Make Me Wanna…”, told fans what to expect during a press conference hosted by Apple Music in Las Vegas on Tuesday, and teased surprise guests.

In the end he was joined by rappers Lil Jon and Ludacris for a rendition of their smash 2004 single “Yeah!”.

In his press conference on Tuesday (6 February), Usher commented: “I would be a fool to not play ‘Yeah!’ Let’s just start there. It would be foolish to make it all the way to Las Vegas – Jon is here, Luda’s here – and not play ‘Yeah!’”

There were also rumours that Taylor Swift could join Usher, as she flew back from tour in Japan to watch her partner Travis Kelce compete in the game. In 2011, Swift invited Usher onstage during her Speak Now world tour for a duet performance of “Yeah!”.

Cue up his 2010 megahit “Baby.” Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber (nee Baldwin) are expecting their first child together.

A representative for Hailey Bieber confirmed to The Associated Press that the model is just over six months pregnant.

The couple announced the news on their respective Instagram pages with corresponding posts. Both begin with a short, romantic video clip of the couple kissing. Hailey Bieber is draped in white lace; baby bump prominent in the sheer, form-fitting fabric. It is followed up with a photo shoot of Justin Bieber photographing his wife against a rural backdrop. In each caption, they’ve tagged one another.

In 2018, the Biebers confirmed their long-rumored marriage on Instagram, when the musician posted a picture of the pair holding hands and captioned it, “My wife is awesome.” Hailey changed her username from “Baldwin” to “Bieber” at the same time. They were engaged in the Bahamas earlier that year, after about a month of dating.

In addition to modeling, Hailey Bieber is the founder of a skincare line, Rhode.
